    Frying Pan Pizza

Took Jr to lunch today here. He ordered the Steak Sandwich and I ordered the Frying Pan Pizza w extra cheese, tomatoes, and onions. Jr finished his sandwich and couldn't resist taking a piece of this pizza. Outstanding! Excellent taste! Great service by Penny. We plan on returning to try more items.

This is a newly remodeled restaurant and lounge overlooking The General Golf Course at Eagle Ridge. We had an order of 8 traditional wings ($11) and a footlong Italian Sausage sandwich ($11. ) Both came out lukewarm but our server was probably on break because she asked if we needed "anything else for a while" right as she dropped off our food so we didn't send them back. SheShe had also been running back-and-forth between the four tables she was taking care of and I think our food had sat at the pass way too long and got cold before she brought it out to us. The sausage was very tender and had a good flavor, it was served with hot peppers and sweet peppers and had a Eagle Ridge hot branded bun. There was a choice of sweet potato fries, regular fries or chips. We ordered the wings two ways - regular buffalo and then the Thai sesame Sriracha. The Thai version was spicy, but way too sweet and not typical Thai in flavor. The celery sticks had a little bit of browning on the edges like they had been sitting around too long in the cooler. The menu looks good and since we are staying in the area for three days we will be back for dinner. Hopefully they will get more traffic and have fresher produce soon.

Yum! We had a lovely and delicious dinner at Highlands tonight. They were having an Oktoberfest special menu that included beef tips with spätzle, crusted pork chop and autumn squash ravioli. Went with the ravioli and LOVED it! Delicious! The waitstaff were great checking in regularly and cleared the dishes promptly. When the waitress brought by a tray showing all the dessert options I was tempted by everything...German Chocolate Cake, NY Cheesecake, Chocolate Mousse Dome, Chocolate Peanut Butter Tower, Chocolate Flourless Cake, and Lemoncello Cake.

Great food and a stunning view! Play golf and come in to eat or take your food to go with you!..

food left in a styrofoam container

We ordered lunch for pick up on 8/16. Due to the COVID situation, we decided to pick up food and dine at a nature park nearby. We had to wait for 30 minutes to get the food. That is not the major concern. We ordered a kids meal (chicken strips and fries) which came in a styrofoam to-go box which was melted due to the heat from the food. I guess the chef has picked the strips from the hot oil and directly placed them in the box which has melted it. It's pretty bad that we noticed this after the kid was done with his lunch, as this was melting was at the lower half of the box. Its a safety concern as the food might have had some melted styrofoam on it.

Stop here for lunch on a Monday because every place else was closed. Food was and service was good. I had the Ruben and sweet potato fries.

Ezequiel was helpful, easy to work with, and organized. This small accommodating detail made the day even more seamless and intentional for our guests. We hadn't been to Vinny's prior to the wedding weekend, so we were a bit anxious about the unknown food and service. In the end, both were great! We had the fried calamari, bruschetta, fried ravioli, and seafood stuffed mushrooms for appetizers. We had the lasagna, chicken parm, and pepper steak for our main course, and an assortment for treats for dessert. The portions were hearty, and everyone commented on how amazed they were at all the food that just came coming out! Our favorite was the chicken parm and tiramisu, but all of the food was good - my Italian mother in law approved! The next time we're in Galena, we will definitely be coming by for some chicken parm and tiramisu!

It has a lot more room than expected with enough space for live music. As for the drinks and food they're good stuff also. The prices can be high but it's not crazy for the atmosphere and quality. Basically this is one of the first places one encounters when entering town from the east. It's located in the Irish Cottage Inn & Suites. The hotel itself is very nice and has lots of amenities of its own if wanting to stay there. As for the restaurant itself it's one of the highlights. It's about $8 for an Irish coffee, which is a classic in the morning, evening, or whenever. Amazingly they have non dairy options including Bailey's Dairy Free Toffee Cream. It's about $18 or more for an entree which is a lot. We were able to find a few plant based options. I got the Roasted Squash Bowl. This has broccolini, farro, heirloom tomato relish, pickled red cabbage, and white beech mushrooms. An earthy flavor. She had the Vegan Shepherd's Pie. An alternative made with faux beef and mushroom gravy There's also plenty of meaty options like beef medallions. For sure it's one of the nicer restaurants around here. It's closed Mondays. They amazingly have a few things for vegans and vegetarians.
