We ate in the lounge area near the bar and had a great experience! Great spot for lunch or a drink before heading out for the night. My husband 10/10 recommends the Reuben. Best he's had in a while!

Great all you can eat prime rib on Saturday night. Great views of Lake Galena and sunsets. Excellent service and got a free dessert for my birthday.

Food - was average. Nothing to write home about. Strange take on gnocchi carbonara. Crab cakes were good. Very meaty. Booze way over priced. Service - decent. Slow and steady. Ambiance - they know their demographic. If you love your grandparents house, this is your spot! IMPORTANT: ask for the "lounge" menu. They won't tell you but you can actually get normal food too.

    Pistachio crusted salmon

Enjoyed a lovely meal here on a Monday night when not all restaurants in town are open. It was also music night and there was a guy with a guitar playing some really nice music. The staff were very friendly and the food was delicious. I had the pistachio crusted salmon and I absolutely loved it. The fish was cooked perfect and the potatoes were whipped perfection. I will definitely be back!

Pancake & bacon breakfast (we got 2 orders) & a cinnamon roll, which came with a cute note!!! We also ordered a coffee & 2 pineapple juices.

What a gem!!! This dining opportunity is located just beside the lobby of the resort. We ordered two times during our stay. Jack was a pleasure!!!! He took both our late night (they close at 9 & we ordered after 8:30pm) pizza order & our early morning breakfast order. Thank you Jack, for the complimentary "canned beverages" with pizza & for the laughs during our ordering process!!! We enjoyed the delicious & fresh food. The pineapple juice was great with breakfast & my coffee came hot! We picked up our evening pizza & paid at the counter. Our breakfast was delivered to our door with a smile & charged to our room. Great staff, service, & food!!!!

    burnt and melted styrofoam boxes

We ordered lunch for pick up on 8/16. Due to the COVID situation, we decided to pick up food and dine at a nature park nearby. We had to wait for 30 minutes to get the food. That is not the major concern. We ordered a kids meal (chicken strips and fries) which came in a styrofoam to-go box which was melted due to the heat from the food. I guess the chef has picked the strips from the hot oil and directly placed them in the box which has melted it. It's pretty bad that we noticed this after the kid was done with his lunch, as this was melting was at the lower half of the box. Its a safety concern as the food might have had some melted styrofoam on it.

I mention…read morethis because I'm certain the season and time of day matters in terms of wait times, etc. That said; I recommend you try eating here, if for no other reason than the food. The place itself is a clean open area with a wall of windows to enjoy the views of the golf course. Service was friendly and prompt but we (my wife and I) were one of two or three tables (approximately 10 people total dining at the time). The food was the star of the show! One word to describe the food: Fresh. We started with a cheese curd appetizer, and that was awesome! Fresh white cheddar cheese, lightly breaded and fried. Yum! We then had steak tacos and a margherita pizza (both pictured). The tacos were spilling over into freshly made tortilla shells and the pizza was brick oven baked. Both, based on the great flavor, were clearly made with fresh ingredients! Note: I love pizza, BUT I don't love thin crust pizza (which is how this pizza is prepared). However, they pulled it off with a great tasting dough that was absolutely perfectly baked (not cardboard from over-baking, and not a floppy mess from underbaking). We will be back!

We were somewhat reluctant to dine here, but so glad we did. Nice ambiance. Views were lovely…read more The menu was seasonal which I enjoyed. Any restaurant that changes its menu to incorporate seasonal ingredients is a major plus. I ordered the sausage trio. Our server highly recommended this dish. Omg. Three links including elk, venison, and Bison. Delicious flavors of wild game seasoned just right. Mouth watering. The German style potatoes and sauerkraut were perfect accompaniments.

I found out from our server that many of their items are made in house, which is great to hear in a restaurant landscape where everything is frozen and reheated! It may be kind of dumpy inside but the place is also full of crazy personality. A lot of the basics along with a few fancier items. The prices are pretty okay for the portions and quality. Basically if you're a group it will probably be waiting for a table so go early. It's one of the popular places to go around here. The last time coming here we got seats at the bar and there wasn't any waiting. Has a lot of cool memorabilia to look at. There's a bunch of funny signs on the walls. It's about $7 for a basic cocktail. The Fuzzy Navel is one of the classics you can get. It's about $13 for a burger and fries. They have a veggie burger that can substitute. We each got one of these. I got it with the toppings of the Basic Burger. These come with the usual toppings like lettuce, mayonnaise which I left off, onions, pickles, and tomatoes. She got it with the toppings of the Olive Burger. These come with cheddar, lettuce, mayonnaise, olives, onions, Swiss, and tomatoes. For sure it gets busy. It's located on Main at Franklin. They're closed Wednesdays.

The restaurant is inside the small but upscale inn, and we were seated in an inside booth facing the beautiful outdoor scenery. We ordered the soft shell crab and scallop appetizers, and the beef wellington entree. All of them were delicious, especially the beef wellington. I highly recommend the cherry dessert (top option on the spring/summer sessert menu). It was really unique and flavorful. Be sure to grab some photos on the patio at sunset too!

Unfortunately, the rest of the experience did not live up to the reputation or the price point. I travel extensively around the world and the U.S., and I dine often at high-end restaurants, so I consider myself someone with a refined palate. With that in mind, I found Goldmoore to be very overrated. My sea bass was very average--the sauce had clashing flavors that simply did not work together. Their signature Beef Wellington, which should have been the highlight, was disappointing as well. Even the vegetables in the medley had a strange aftertaste, almost as if one of them--or the garlic--was spoiled. Service was also underwhelming. Our server didn't explain the dishes, didn't check in to ask how things were, and the food took far too long to arrive. For a restaurant of this level, that's unacceptable. Dessert was the final letdown. It had a cheap taste and even some crusty, stale-like bits that reminded me of eating a cracker past its freshness. For a $200 bill, I expected much higher quality. My friend and I both agreed that we would have enjoyed a simple burger and fries in downtown Galena much more. Overall, the atmosphere and the host were nice, but the food and service fell far below the standard of a fine dining restaurant. Sadly, I was not impressed and would not return.
