CAN DOING LAUDRY BE A PLEASANT EXPERIENCE? YES IT CAN AT CANTERBURY LAUNDROMAT. I honestly cannot wait to have another reason to do my laundry there! The place is Sparkling clean, BRIGHT, Roomy and laid out in a way I have NEVER seen before. The different load capacity washers are in the center and are all priced accordingly and fairly. Huge dryers are on the outer walls and also come in a few sizes. The winning ingredient to this wonderful laundromat heaven is the people caring and working there. LISA and her crew are so caring for EVERYONE they can greet there, always ready to help anyone whether they are coming or going. HOW do I know this? Well, after I parked in front of the entrance and opened my trunk to pull out my own portable cart to bring in my 8 bags of comforters and bulky blankets/linens/pillows, LISA was standing right there asking if I needed assistance. She asked if she could get a laundry cart to help. I was so shocked by this helpful welcome, I think I was a bit tongue tied but welcomed her laundry cart to carry some of my bags. I told her it was my first time in this laundromat but I had searched purposely for a place with great reviews and high ratings. Walking inside was so pleasantly surprising! It gave me a visual of what a laundry heaven may look like. The PEACE and sense of comfort it gave me was unexpected. I know that sounds crazy to be in awe of a laundromat, but I was always afraid of laundromats growing up as a child when I had to go with my mother (I grew up in Connecticut). They were dirty, dark and had people in there that always looked miserable. Even as an adult, when I was in need of going to the laundromat during my 9 moves as a military family, I dreaded going. I was NOT looking forward to this experience and thought it would be at least 4 hours to wash and dry everything I had brought. It only took 2 hours thankfully with Lisa's help. Lisa could tell I was a bit overwhelmed and after helping another woman she came back to me and asked if I needed help. I definitely needed some guidance on the machines and how to work them. She explained the different capacity machines to help best efficiently clean my items. She told me I could load up more than I actually did, because I really wanted to make sure the items got clean. Had I listened to her advice, it would have cost 1/2 the amount I spent. She showed me how to get a laundromat card to use for the machines, as they didn't take cards or coins. Whenever Lisa saw anyone enter the place, she immediately greeted them with a "welcome" or a "hello". After helping me get confidence to do what I needed to do, Lisa went right into cleaning recently used washing machines and sweeping the floor and helping other customers. She always came back to see if I was okay. I was literally floored by everything from the welcome, and to the continual care. She was so genuinely kind and assured me that I was not bothering her if I had another question for her. I couldn't believe how quickly I was able to get everything done. I never did any of my work I brought with me. When everything was finished, I started to take loads out to my car. Lisa made sure to help me with the last load and as she was sending me off, she was on to helping welcoming the next person into the laundromat! This experience has changed my fear and dread of the laundromats of the past I experienced. When I started writing this review today, I was reminded of the movie "The Blind Side" and how Michael Oher found comfort, safety, shelter and peace at the laundromat because he was alone and his life before meeting the Tuohys was difficult, dangerous, and hard. Canterbury Laundromat for the first time in my life gave me a sense of comfort, safety, shelter from the summer heat and PEACE. Return to launder at for washing of large household items. Once again I encounter very friendly and personable staff. I was welcomed as I got out of my car with a laundry cart to help me bring my items in, laundry valet, awesome!!!!! You pick serviceable and friendly staff. I making up laundry reasons just to go there. Only one item I have a suggestion on. The ladies bathroom needs more attention, tile seal getting stained from mopping water and maybe more inspections on use. A lot of people use these areas. Did not want to take one star away but this is a service that's part of the Laundromat. Still waiting for your answer about rug washing. Dedicate two washers just for rugs and nothing else. When I came here earlier today, I washed about 3 loads of laundry and in one of them a stuffed animal had opened up. The lady was super nice about it and helped me clean it up and put it in a bag for me. The place is also very clean and well maintained, will definitely visit again if I need to. read more

Lastnight I had the pleasure of speaking with Lisa & using this laundromat! Everything is brand new, it's very clean! Lisa was very helpful with letting me know how machines worked, as well as giving me a run down of the place! They have a scale for you to weigh your clothes as well! I did come with quarters but she helped me exchange them for cash with no problem! They have a card system, that you use for the machine so you don't need any coins, the card system takes cash and card! I enjoyed my wash time here and I will be back! Thank you again! read more

I was blown away when I entered this laundry center. It's not your typical laundry center, wow. The staff I encountered on Monday, June 1, 2026 was awesome, responsive and very helpful. They made the experience washing laundry pleasant in a comfortable, bright and clean atmosphere. Thank you ladies. The only question I have Is why no rugs? Scatter rugs are normally the size of a large bath towel. I can understand room side rugs and even runners not being accepted but you have 50lb. plus washers and dryers. The space is large, the machines come in all sizes, and everything runs quietly and dries quickly -- saving me both time and money. I enjoy coming here to take care of my big loads that I can't get done at home. They also offer convenient drop-off and wash-and-fold services.
