Dr. Martin and Hannah took the time to explain everything clearly, answered our questions, and ensured that Jax was comfortable, dignified, and surrounded by love in his final moments. I don't know what the other reviewers are talking about. If you have pet insurance and actually take care of your animals - not to mention remain cordial and polite with the staff there, as anyone should be, they are fantastic. We brought in a kitten we just adopted who had ear mites, and an infection. They were very gentle, kind, and supportive of us. They took great care of my kitten! If you can't afford the vet bills to make sure your animal is in proper health - don't own an animal. They're not belongings, they're living creatures that require care. This clinic is fabulous and will be our Maven's primary care facility! read more

As far as treatment goes, they try, but I haven't had a good vet anywhere when I moved where I am now 13 years or more. all I can say is they are fair pricewise and they did try, it just wasn't right. Great, Caring vet Clinic. I have a dog with seizures and they have been great with us from medication and questions to after hours calls with concerns. They have been helpful with emergency situations. Their days are packed full with appointments of established patients. They always follow up with calls to check on our pets. Can't say enough good things about them. I have had to have 2 dogs put to sleep after hours a few years ago and they were very caring and respectful. This was the only vet that had compassion when our dog was diagnosed with lymphoma. Others tried to drag us around and do more testing before diagnosing her, which was needed to get her the medications and care she needed. They're straight forward and care so much for every animal, not like other area vets who have several clinics and will waste your money doing unnecessary testing and lose your appointments. The staff is very nice and the wait for an appointment may be a bit but what vet isn't overwhelmed right now? And they'll always do what they can to take animals in emergency situations. read more

Not a good place, refuses to see our pet all because we had 2 cats that went there and because one has since been hit and died and the other hasn't had a reason to go to the vet so they put us on a no client list , wouldn't recommend taking anything there. read more

This is the one of the worst cases of money above all else. Canton animal clinic does not care if you've been going there for years. If you are not constantly bringing in your pet and spending lots of money you're a nobody to them and so is your pet. Money is the only thing they care about not you not your pet not providing compassionate care. They couldn't care less if you're not a whale spending big bucks there all the time they'll basically just laugh at you and tell you to go elsewhere. read more

I would give them 0 stars if possible. After being a customer for 5 years (and gladly taking my money) they refused to see my dog after he got into porcupine quills because he had not been there in the past year for an annual wellness check (you know ... during a global pandemic). Absolutely no compassion for animals or their owners. This place is greedy, lacks ethics, and shouldn't be taking care of animals. I will never return to this place, and I wouldn't encourage anyone that loves their pet to visit this clinic. It is run based on greed, and lacks empathy, ethics, or any moral compass. read more

I called because my 4 month old puppy was yelping in pain for 20 minutes straight. I was told you are not taking new patients so no one there could help me. You should be ashamed of how you conduct business. I am so upset thinking of all the pets who must die because you refuse to talk to them or see them if they arent already on your bank roll. read more

Decided they did not want to see my dog because we haven't been there in a year and had to go to a different vet to get her a shot because they weren't able to get her in, in a timely manner. Will take my business elsewhere. Should learn to do their job and actually CARE for animals. read more

Update: My baby passed away a little over a year now. The staff did a wonderful job of handling her and just being sympathetic. Can easily see how when working with such things regularly people can easily go numb to it. Happy to have been working with them when she passed. read more

I am so thankful I got in with Canton Animal Clinic because they are amazing! It can sometimes take a wait to get in and established, but once you are an established patient it is so worth it. My cats are little mischievous devils who get into everything and this office has always been so great at squeezing them in when emergencies come up. They have an after hours phone service where a real person answers and they get a vet to call you back so fast (less than a hour wait each time for me!). Even when they don't know exactly what's wrong, they clearly lay out options and support you through making decisions. And the receptionists are awesome--those phones are constantly ringing but they are always so helpful and great at their jobs. They are expensive but it's quality care and I highly recommend. read more

We have been taking our animals there now for over 4 years and things just keep getting worse! It's all about the money to them and not the animals! Constantly new staff which says a lot in itself, MONTHS of waiting for appointments so if you have a sick animal you are forced to play Russian Roulette and call in the morning when they open ano HOPE for an emergency appointment, which of course costs more than a regular appointment! Then they make you wait for HOURS in the parking lot ( because of the pandemic) instead of only making a certain number of appointments so that people don't sit 3-6 HOURS OUTSIDE IN THE FREEZING COLD forcing people to leave their engines running and often with a sick animal! I think this has given them the opportunity to add on whatever they feel because you're not in the room to discuss the treatment or even see what they actually did with your animal and shock you with a high bill every time! It's not about the animals that is for sure! It's about let's see how many people we can squeeze in in one day and how much we can charge them! we recently had a pet emergency, they know us! They know we ALWAYS pay our bill are always patient and understanding, but they refused to see our animal that day or the next because we missed the morning deadline, we brought in a fecal which after waiting 3 hours in the parking lot for them to run a fecal, confirmed what our dog had, but they STILL refused to give us medication to treat it because the VET has to physically see the dog!! BULLSH*T! They just wanted us to pay the emergency appointment fee and tack on more crap! $$$ that's all that matters to them! I have never written a bad review, I usually say " if you don't have anything nice to say.." but I think new pet owners need to be warned! This is not a place for compassion or building a life long bond between your pet and your Vet! read more

Absolutely ZERO stars for these heartless people. Last month, our dog was diagnosed with cancer and at night, he had a seizure. Our normal vet clinic no longer offers emergency local care. We live 7 miles from this clinic. We called for help for our beloved Duke and they told us there was nothing they could do for him since he hadn't been seen there within the last 6 months. Tonight, our 7 year old English bulldog was hit in the road. We called this clinic and they told us to head their way. While we were 4 minutes from the clinic, a very rude woman called us and said that "due to Covid they could not see our Stoutzerweizen". I was angry on the phone and she told me to "be mad at my vet". Absolutely useless place. They let both of our boys pass away without any sort of intervention and we had to watch them suffer. This place does not care for the well being, health, or care of your fur babies. All they care about is their nasty image. AVOID THIS PLACE IF YOU LOVE YOUR PETS LIKE WE DID!!!! read more

My horse had diarrhea it started on a Friday. By that following Monday she was really lame and couldn't walk. I called Canton animal clinic out to look at her. I had no issues with them in the past but this was a different Dr. Even though response time was great. She missed Diagnosed my horse. She told me she might of fallen or got kicked, that she had a slight temp, and took a fecal sample. She also gave her a shot of steriods. Two days later I hear nothing back from them. I called and got a second opinion from a well known vet. My horse had potomac fever and was foundering because of it. I am now trying to keep her comfortable because of the founder. Also struggling to get the weight back on her that she lost from her loose stools and dehydration. Before she had the 3 doses of antibiotic. Long story short if your gut saying something wrong voice it and get a second opinion. read more

I guess I'm just not going to leave a good review for any Canton vet. We lived in Canton for 11 months, and they missed a diagnosis on my elderly cat the whole time. I moved him back to Brooklyn and it was discovered within a week. (Quite frankly they seemed astonished a cat could live to 15... which is pretty standard at this point.) There aren't a lot of choices in the region, so I'd recommend driving to Ottawa or Syracuse and taking your pet somewhere where they can do a battery of tests that might results in a diagnosis. I saw three different vets and they all diagnosed my cat with "old" when he had pancreatitis and his health has suffered so dramatically we are at the "treat the symptoms and keep him comfortable" phase. read more

My 14 year old 6 pd maltese was brought there as she injured herself jumping off the bed. We were sure it was broken but according the xrays it showed no break just a sprain. Well after 10 weeks and a short grooming you could tell there was something still not right with her front leg. My mother made an appointment to have it looked at again... so another 150$ out of pocket expense. When she took the dog there, the vet said oh well I see where I missed a break.. and apologized over and over... options given... break it again and splint it, amputate her leg, pay 3500 to send her to Cornell to have a screw put it or leave it naturally... we are choosing at this time to leave it naturally. Point being is if the dog was brought in for a "possible broken leg" why in the hell would you miss a break in the xray in the first place.... I am so angered by this news that I received today and I will find out who is in charge of this business.. as my mother states nothing can be done and it already happened!!!!!! well not paying another 150$ visit copay would help!
