For an airport of this size, the shopping and entertainment options feel fairly limited. When you're facing a long delay, there isn't much to do beyond finding a place to eat or grabbing a drink, and the food and beverage prices are what you'd expect from an airport. If you're simply passing through on schedule, DTW is a pleasant and efficient airport. But when delays happen, the lack of activities and retail options can make the wait feel much longer.

I've traveled all major airlines and I have to say by far Delta is the best. From the ambience on the plane to the entertainment. Overall most aspects of my flights have been very pleasing. I will say the one opportunity I see is customer service. I worked for a company that prioritizes customer service and safety. I am very in tune with the delicate balance between the two. Having flown Delta for several years and prior to retiring I was diamond with them. I will say my customer service experience has been about 50-50. On our last trip, we flew from Phoenix to Miami with a layover in Detroit. We enjoy the fact that they have entertainment on the flight. I like the TV monitors in the back of the headrest of the seat in front of me. I like this because I don't have to look down at my electronic device. I will say I feel like they are one of the most consistent Airlines when it comes to on time arrivals and luggage. Like I said, I've flown them for many years and never had an issue with my luggage. I've flown other airlines who have lost my luggage, Miss tagged my luggage, but Delta seems to have a pretty good system in place for managing luggage.

Coming back from Hawaii, our trip was initially delayed. After a few hours of troubleshooting, they decided to cancel the flight so we got vouchers for food and a dingy Motel. So, we try again to leave the following day. Obviously if you plan to go to work the day after trip this is horrible. i had to cancel on a number of my patients which, as a professional, I hate to do so last minute. I just wish that Delta was just as professional but unfortunately not. More recently, I traveled internationally and I was told that certain comfort products were banned according to Delta policy. In the back of my head I figure "okay if it's not TSA approved i can understand that". But when I looked into it further, it turns out only Delta has this policy. Whether it's an inflatable or neck pillow or seat cushion, these products are banned because they want you to buy their premium seats. As consumers budgets are getting Tighter and Tighter, it is very unfortunate that a company that is as big and as global as Delta is pinching pennies At this rate I might as well go for a budget airline if I'm going to be nickel and dimed. In the last year, my partner lost luggage accessories and customer service refused to reimburse him. I'd love to give them the benefit of the doubt but honestly, these back to back mishaps just reflect their poor business integrity. Moving forward, we'll take our business elsewhere.

I made alternate transportation arrangements because my reservation was not confirmed. The day of my departure, I received a call from the driver, saying he was at my house. He described the wrong house and provided me with the main contact line to inquire about my reservation. I called three times before I was able to speak with a human. They said my reservation was confirmed and then emailed me the receipt of the charge they applied to my card - that morning - not prior. No emails were in my spam, so I did not miss any communication, they failed to confirm and still charged a ridiculous fee for a short distance that was never driven. Beware of this company. They will not confirm and leave you wondering, then immediately they are able to find your email to process a payment after your unconfirmed pickup time (and who knows what location). They also hung up on me when I asked what email they sent the confirmation to. Better off with any other company. Should have known better with all of the spelling/grammar errors on the website that details are not their forte.

We told her we would meet her and she said she cancelled their ride. They almost missed their flight and we had to rush them 45 minutes to the airport, William never ever initiated anything!! I had to ask for an apology, and here we are months later no refund. He said they switched companies and would try to process and every time I asked for an update nothing. Today when I notified him I would do a review and file a case to get our refund he said he will prepare his lawsuit against us. This is not a good businessman. He should have taken care of this that day to process a refund and calling us with updates. I have never written a bad review before but it is clear he has never had any intention of returning our money . How disappointing that there are people in business that don't know the word Customer Service and doesn't care we are out dollars. I see his responses never his fault with other clients who complain. Lots of places to eat, drink and shop at including a few local breweries like Jolly Pumpkin and Atwater. I decided to kill some time and walk the entire terminal on my last visit. I discovered a few interesting things like a lottery vending machine, salad vending machine (Farmers Fridge), duty free and an Air Margaritaville. I'll have to check that place out next time. The bathrooms are pretty good, could use an update but not the worst I've been in. Lots of art around the terminal too.
