We were greeted immediately and the man working offered to upgrade me to a suite, which was really kind. I chose to keep my original room since I needed a king size bed. The room was clean and bright. The bed is super soft, which is fine for me but not for my husband. I love the 24 hour coffee tea and hot chocolate. The pool was nice. There is no hot tub. You must be 18 to go to the fitness room now. My minor son was bummed as he likes to walk on the treadmill next to me. We like the waffles at breakfast and the oatmeal bar. The juices are tasty too too. The other entrees change from day to day. I enjoyed the quiche yesterday but didnt try the biscuits and gravy today.

I have listed a few of the many incredible amenities and this is my first time in a hotel that has a dishwasher. Excellent location I would definitely recommend it. The rooms are under furnished, but the bed was comfortable. The bathroom was immaculate. One of the elevators struggled to get its doors open on the correct floor. The parking gate process is strange, and is it even necessary? The other deficiency was that all of the double windows in the windows had IGU's with a broken seal. So looking out the window, everything was cloudy. The concierge lounge functioned smoothly. The people are the strongest asset of the hotel, and that is what keeps this from being a one-star review. They are service oriented and responsive. Always a smile, and great suggestions. I cannot state this clearly enough, but they are a cut above. We did not dine on premises.

My husband and I stayed at this Marriott property for 3 nights this week. This hotel markets itself…read moreas a 3.9-star property, but it fell far short of that standard. From the moment we arrived, the hotel had an unpleasant odor and felt dated and poorly maintained. Our first night, we found a beetle crawling on the ceiling, wall, and counter. To the hotel's credit, they moved us to another room. Unfortunately, the replacement room had old, dried blood on the comforter, which was completely unacceptable. And the glass shower door opened 6 times, sliding back and forth during our showers. The customer service only made matters worse. During our stay, t the front desk manager, Kyle, appeared to genuinely try to help; however, our interaction with the Assistant General Manager, Brandy, was disappointing and the worst we've ever experienced in 30 years of traveling. She was dismissive, rude, and had an unprofessional attitude. Her solution was to offer complimentary parking and take off food charges, which was subpar at best. They really don't need to have a restaurant in there, and the brunch was canceled. That might have been meaningful if the hotel hadn't already failed to disclose the $34 daily parking fee before our stay. Considering this hotel is in a rural area with an open parking lot, charging $34 per day for a rural area is a joke and then they gave us coupons to the disgusting restaurant. Between the cleanliness issues, the insect in our room, the blood-stained bedding, the unexpected parking fee, and the poor customer service, this stay did not come close to the quality we expect from a Marriott property. I would not stay here again and cannot recommend it.

Random black scuff marks on wall, black mold on caulking around AC unit. Dead cockroach behind broken TV The staff: RUDE and dismissive. The lobby TV is on too loud to hear through bullet proof glass. Staff behind desk ignored my wife for 5 minutes , no people skills. They refused to check us in until after 3:01pm without charging us a $30 early check in fee. Overall, the room was disgusting. We paid over $400 to nights and we only stayed in room 25 minutes. Luckily, when we came out to lobby to ask for refund, there was a line of people and as soon as I started mentioning about the cock roaches, we received a full refund - though he insisted the room was just "professionally cleaned," yesterday. I think our pictures tell an accurate tale. If you're nostalgic for a 1970's inner city YMCA room, with a Department of Motor Vehicles vibe, then this place is for you. My wife and I prefer to stay where we feel it's safe to bring in our luggage. We are already gearing up for the fight when they try to charge us for the room. For $100 cash he said he could get us a room. We were booked for a room for $125, clearly they are avoiding the 3rd party commission/fees. We did not have cash but we did have the CC we used to make the reservation. He would not accept that form of payment and advised us that we could walk across the road to use an atm to get the cash. The lobby and grounds are not maintained. The desk was not staffed, there was a note to call a number which we did 3x but no answer. All hotels were sold out because of a U of M football game. Rather than deal with this place we drove and found another hotel, which is what I recommend you do. Book with another reputable hotel. Traveling is tiring enough, this experience was exhausting. Don't waste or risk your time by booking at this location.

Accidents happen, you miss spots when you clean, but idk it's like. They gave up. Maybe they aren't getting the money they need or something idk. I honestly have no idea where these positive reviews are coming from because they do not match reality at all. Not one surface in our room appeared to be clean. There was poop on the side of the tub and a used condom in the drain. No soap in the room there was a random bottle of lotion next to the sink but that was it. Everything was just dusty and dirty. I had to wear shoes in the room because there was so much grit on the floor. The sheets were stained, dirty, and so worn out they were practically see through. The couch was filthy too. The room looked like nobody had cared about it in years. Lamps were sitting in random places and several of them didn't even work. Honestly, it looked like they had moved a long term resident out for the night and put us in the room. The rest of the hotel wasn't any better. At 10 p.m., the breakfast area still had old batter and syrup all over the counters, and the carpets were covered in crumbs and trash and clearly hadn't been vacuumed in ages. The atmosphere of the property felt extremely sketchy, with what appeared to be long term residents and constant foot traffic at all hours. Seriously, save yourself the money, frustration, and possible health risk. Stay literally anywhere else.

The Marriott was further away, the rate was $143 per night, and that hotel had no vacancies. I then found the Harmony House Motel where the rate was $55 through booking.com. I went ahead and booked a room...and then discovered a number of very negative online reviews. I called the hotel and expressed my concerns. The clerk assured me that my room would be clean and comfortable. After driving in from the Detroit suburbs, I checked in and Cheryl accompanied me to my room. As promised, the hotel was well maintained both outside and in, and the room was as she described. Another plus is that my car is only 30 feet from my room. This hotel is not the Taj Mahal and it's not in a prosperous area but the people who run it take pride in what they provide and it shows. The staff were very kind and made an extra effort to make my stay a pleasant one. For this reason, I am giving Harmony House a five star rating.
