Something unusual to me was a selection of different kinds of chocolate covered items that you could buy in measurement. Not prepackaged. The location we visited was in Haymarket District downtown. It's been there 45 years. They're baked goods are made downstairs I was told. I tried the coffee cake, which was excellent, but I did not care for the chocolate croissant. It was very tough and very little chocolate. I did like the outside terrace seating which faced the main street of the Haymarket district. It was shaded and very nice breeze went through there on a hot day. I love the experience of the shop and the terrace, but if I'm looking for good the flavor of coffee, I would probably go somewhere else.

I got the spicy nut latte off the seasonal menu. I got an iced medium along with the dark chocolate covered espresso beans and both were delicious!! The prices here are insanely reasonable. I paid just a little over $9 for both items. I couldn't believe it! I wish this was a place where I can just sit and take in the smells as I enjoy my coffee, but there is no seating as this is more of an actual store that also serves coffee. It's the high ceilings, large plants, and fire places for me. If I worked from home, this would be a space I'd visit often. The coffee was good, not great. I ordered the salted toffee caramel latte. It wasn't sweet and strong. I like my coffee sweet and strong. I'll come back and order and iced coffee next time. I also ordered the limited edition birthday matcha for funsies. That was yummy! Depending if you come during the morning rush it may be a bit noisier but there are plenty of tables to sit at. Roast has the best chai in Aksarben, quality and price! They do up-charge for milk substitutes but the already great prices don't even make me flinch at the increase for oat milk. Well worth it! Their coffees are great and their espresso is a darker roast and nuttier but occasionally when I need more of a boost, I get a dirty chai and it's been my new morning addiction!
