We wandered in here while searching for a store in the same neighborhood. It has a nice coffeehouse vibe with large windows that allow for plenty of natural light. The baristas were friendly and the drinks were reasonably priced. I tend to like my cold brew smooth and slightly sweet so I only got 2 shots of flavoring. It does tend to be a little on the bitter side so I would suggest increasing the sweetener if you don't like that. Roast is the perfect coffee shop in Aksarben. The baristas move pretty quick even when it's busy which is nice plus they always help me modify my drinks! I've come for a quick to go drink many times and I've worked here for a morning a few times too. Working here is nice, it's a pretty chill atmosphere unless it's busy. Definitely some spots that are better to work from than others, but people filter through after a while so you can always move around if you're in for the day. read more

My cousin picked me up a muffin and coffee from Roast as a surprise! The pumpkin latte was wonderful, but the standing ovation goes to the apple muffin. When I say that this was one of the best muffins I have EVER had, I mean it! It was fluffy, soft, sweet (but not overly so), fresh, flavorful.. seriously. Typically, I find coffeehouse muffins to be mass produced and not worth the calories or the money. But Roast is either baking them fresh, or very good at pretending to! I'd recommend stopping by for this alone, next time I'll be sure to take a picture before devouring it! read more

Came in for a work meeting, and was happy to find a big table to unload all my computer stuff and note books so we could get to business! It's so bright and airy in there, it was nice to feel kind of cozy ,but also like in a big city shop. Roast is a part of A Hill of Beans so you KNOW you're going to get good flavored coffee. It's ridiculous that I haven't posted a review sooner. It's also ridiculous how DELICIOUS the blended mocha is (see photo). My only complaint (HINT: it's not a real one) is that it's excruciatingly difficult to drink slowly because it's so good. I can't believe I've never ordered it before the last 2 days, but it was probably for the best. Also, I really like that it doesn't have a bunch of ice chunks at the bottom that get stuck in my straw like sometimes happens with blended drinks. My husband and I are frequent fliers here (him usually being the one to pick up) and he's greeted by name, sometimes with our regular drinks prepared by the time he reaches the counter from line. The personal touch is rare and SO APPRECIATED! (I think name recognition is in part due to us using the Clover app to order a lot, which is SO convenient.) The ambiance is lovely -- full windows to allow a lot of natural light, and while the place has some echo (not a bad thing) there is no blaring music to make work or study difficult and plenty of varied seating. We have noticed our (iced) lattes may taste different depending on what time of day it's ordered, which is pretty common for local shops, but it's worth mentioning. And TIP: the hot lattes here are made as lattecinnos-- more foam than a typical latte and less milky -- unless requested otherwise. To me, it's too strong, but again this is MY personal preference! This is a great place for a caffeinated beverage and WiFi. read more

This has to be one of my favorite coffee spots in all of Omaha! Their coffee is divine. They have a house brew and two varietals that they switch out every day. They have a large menu and always have cute seasonal drinks! They have some pastries, croissants, and bagels for food, but this is not the place to come to if you're hungry . The coffee shop is surrounded by windows and I love all of the natural light that comes in! They don't have many outlets here so if you are wanting to do homework, keep that in mind or come with the computer that's charged! They have enough seating indoors, but it is not huge by any means. Their outdoor patio is very nice, I love hanging out there! If you bring your own to-go mug and ask for a coffee refill, they will give you brewed coffee for one dollar! Roast Coffeehouse was a great place to enjoy a beverage while getting some productivity in. I love how convenient it is in Aksarben Village; I stopped by after taking my weekend walk. My iced mocha was a bit rich for my taste but overall good and reasonably priced as well! Their menu has a lot of options. The service was amazing; all of the employees were very kind and managed a crowd well. This isn't necessarily the place to go if you want a quiet study space (at least on a Saturday morning) but the buzzing atmosphere definitely motivated me to get the work done that I needed to do and was surprisingly not too distracting. There are a good amount of tables/chairs inside and outside to sit and work or chat alone or with a group. I enjoyed sitting at the bar-like tables along the front window to get some sunlight and people-watching in while on my laptop. Fast internet too! read more

Recently moved to the area. I usually like to visit my local coffee shop 4 to 5 times a week. So I was very happy to see that there was a coffee shop within walking distance of my new place that had good reviews. Don't let the reviews fool you. The baristas did not know how to make a Cortado, nor were they able to tell me the origin country of the beans or brew that they were suggesting. Not only do they not know how to do their job, they were extremely rude. The employees seemed upset that I was interrupting them from scrolling on their phones. Not dog friendly at all. read more

It's a good place to stop in to quick grab a coffee but unfortunately you can't work or study there. I'm not local to Omaha, but anytime I happen to be in the area, going to Roast is a MUST. Their coffee is probably some of the best coffee in all of Omaha - it's my favorite! Never a disappointment. An iced oatmilk latte with vanilla and hazelnut is usually my go to, but I think it's the type of place where you can't go wrong with anything. I love the croissants as well! The almond croissant is to die for but the chocolate is equally delicious if that isn't available. I feel like I've never seen the shop empty and, especially on the weekend when the farmers market is happening, it's popping! Despite this, I usually get my drink in a reasonable amount of time. This long time favorite of our family has changed. The ambiance and service is largely unchanged but the drink quality is significantly diminished. My chief complaint: I can't taste the espresso in their drinks. Even when I order an extra shot, even when no flavor is added. A mocha might as well be a hot chocolate. This has become a consistent pattern. I usually don't notice until I'm in my car, but today I sampled the drink, wondered again if they forgot the extra shot. When I inquired I was assured there were three shots. No offer was made to address the issue.. Guess I'll go home and add some coffee to the drink myself. The coffee beans here are great, so I'm not sure what has changed. Maybe a different roast. Maybe a smaller shot. Maybe some of the newer baristas need added training. Regardless, my trend toward less frequent trips will be continuing downward. read more
