I choose GU for my golf needs because of the service and competitive prices. I also have to give Jeff Bender academy tons of credit for improving my game. He is a golf whisperer. He will find your issue immediately and give you drills to move you in the right direction. I love this local business! Sorry, I can't review the mini golf, but the range is nice, especially mid-winter when you can crank on the heaters!

As the staff will…read moretell you every time you walk in looking for something, they really don't have a big selection of whatever you're looking for. They really focus on custom club fitting. Went in twice since they moved to the new smaller location. Won't be a third time. Both times I was looking for something specific. First time was an accessory (travel bag) and new shoes, and the second was a new hybrid club. The first time I was given the "we don't have a big selection of those because we focus on club fitting" speech. OK, kinda short-sighted for "golf store" but whatever. I heard the same thing told to two others who came in looking for this or that. Second time I went in I was looking to pick up the hybrid after looking for some advice, maybe even custom order one if possible because I'm taller than most. I began browsing the limited selection. Two other guys in there and they started asking one of the staff about this club or that club. The staffer had little info to provide. Then they asked if they could try one they apparently liked in one of the fitting bays. Nobody else in the store, mind you, except me. The staffer was extremely reluctant to let them hit a couple. He gave the "we really focus on custom fitting" speech but let them hit a few. Staffer never went back to see if they liked it or wanted to buy. No selling or seeing what they did or didn't like. Nothing. They eventually walked out. I'm still there looking at clubs. Haven't been approached by either of the two staffers on duty. Clearly interested in picking something up but also probably need a little advice. Been there 15 minutes at that point. Decided to let this play out. 25 minutes rolls around and a couple of people walk in. A woman wants an accessory for her husband as a gift. Got "we don't have a big selection of those. We focus on custom club fitting" speech. I don't remember what she settle for but I do remember the staffer just kind of looking at her and saying, basically that's all we have. No real help at all. The other people/person left in disgust after finding nothing. Meanwhile, I'm still there looking at clubs. I heard all about which clubs they were going to trade in with the stores new trade in policy and which clubs they were going to buy because they were having a great conversation between the two of them while I was there. I heard about their personal lives and the courses they liked. I heard about the players they didn't like on the tournament that was playing on tv. Never once did they address me or approach me. After about 35 minutes or so I gave up. As I literally stepped out the door, one of them says, "if you have any questions just let us know". Yeah, I got a question. How do you justify being paid by your employer? Better question. Unless you want to have a customized fitting, why would anyone ever shop here? Not sure they would even do the custom fitting well since they don't seem to have staff who can do the basics. As a parting shot, I went to Spokane recently for a few things and stopped at Golf World or World Golf or some such named store. I walked in to a well appointed store, was greeted as I walked in and asked if I need help with anything. Was given advice. Was allowed to hit a couple of suggestions before we started any talk about the need to custom order. Found one. Spent around $300 and was done in about 20 minutes. That's called SERVICE and SALESMANSHIP, just in cast Golf Universe is confused.

They have state of the art screens with a variety of games and courses you and play with a nice set of tees and clubs per screen. The also have a great selection of bottled beverages. Unfortunately I was pretty disappointed with my private event. We booked a 2.5hr event and ordered a selection of their pizzas, fries, tacos, and hot dogs. We quickly learned their kitchen has limitations involving 1 oven so the food came out at a snail's pace due to the bottleneck. Also, they don't have a ice machine (or any ice for that matter) so we had to go to Zip's next door to cool out beverages. This place serves shots as well as bottled drinks, so it's interesting ice wasn't available if someone wanted a mixed drink. The last set of food came out exactly at the time when the party was supposed to end. I need to be transparent that the staff (while extremely limited) was kind, extended our event half an hour and gave me discount... but I'd rather not deal with over a dozen hangry people and pay full price. Most of the food also was given a copious amount of "Mason sauce" which was similar to honey mustard. The sauce was hit or miss with my party and we eventually requested that the sauce was served on the side, and hopefully the business will do that for most of their menu items. Overall, we all enjoyed hitting the balls in their facility. What irks me the most was the coordinator for the event knew of the shortcomings and never really followed up for feedback or updates. So I guess I'll just post it up on Yelp. If you just want to hang out, hit balls, and drink a beer- 5 stars If you want to book the whole place out and have food and drinks provided, please see above.

I would give this 0 if I could…read more I paid $90 to play this course today, and honestly, that was the first mistake. The place was in such rough shape that I didn't even bother finishing my full 18 holes. Between the slow pace, the poorly maintained fairways, and conditions that absolutely do not match the price, it felt like I was paying premium rates for a bottom-tier course. But the real kicker was the pro shop. When I politely asked about a partial refund -- considering I didn't finish my round for very obvious reasons -- I was met with some of the rudest, most dismissive customer service I've ever seen at any golf course. They didn't just say no; they acted like I was completely out of line for even asking. No explanation, no apology, no attempt at basic professionalism. Just attitude. For a place charging nearly a hundred bucks a tee time, you'd think they'd at least pretend to care about their customers' experience. Instead, I walked out feeling like they couldn't care less whether I ever came back -- and trust me, I won't. Save your money and go literally anywhere else. This course is overpriced, poorly run, and apparently believes customer service is optional. Hard pass.
