Be careful when shopping at Foothill Food Mart. The prices displayed on the shelves do not always match what you're charged at the register. This happened to me, and I've also seen it happen to a friend. Always double-check your receipt before leaving. The store itself is not clean, the aisles are very narrow, and there is an unpleasant smell throughout the store. On top of that, the owners were rude and unprofessional, making the overall experience even worse. There are several other convenience stores just a couple of minutes away that are cleaner, more organized, and treat customers with respect. Today, i walked in because we were starving for their Russian ham and im not exaggerating this Russian ham is very quality and I tried many other different Armenian/ Russian market but it doesnt taste the same! Their cold salads are yummy to...Also their jams from Armenia! The service is great. Friendly people work here and they are very welcoming! They have Armenian/ Russian/ Persian and middle eastern products that its hard to find in any other market! The fresh fruit and veggie, well packed and well organized! Been living few blocks down from this market for few years now and I finally went! There's an Albertsons next to it so I never had the needs to go but I felt like trying something different. It's a small market but has a lot of cool things! I got this wine in a cool bottle from Georgia (the country) and some cool snacks! I saw that they have a great meat section but couldn't get any because I was on my way out and it would've gone bad. I'll definitely come back here to do my groceries once in a while! read more

I'm dubbing this market, "Mini King"! It's a fantastic mini version of the grocery chain Super King. ( I have no idea if there is any connection, but the diversity of products looked familiar to shopping there) Fantastic assortment of meats, cheeses, produce, spices and international items. I caught myself mesmerized by the bulk candy assortment and cookie aisle. I bought some white nectarines that were as large as soft balls for $1.99 lb. and a box of dozen of exotic crushed nut pyramid cookies for $7.99. Both were fresh & delicious. To discover this market next to Harbor Freight on Foothill Blvd was a pleasant surprise. Parking was plentiful and easy, and the store was not crowded at all. Depressing workers. I dislike this store but they were the only ones that carried something I needed so unfortunately I had to go in. Why do people look miserable when they work? I had to greet the cashier 2 times before she said hello. Like wtf. If you do go, please pay attention to how depressing everyone is. Prices don't match. Misleading signs. Just to be clear I'm willing to pay a fair price for products if they are worth that price because they are a rare fruit or tropical fruit or seasonal. So, I went over for the first time to this place to check it out. There was a big sign on the avocados that said 99 cents. Same with the pears it said $1.49 and didn't specified if it was per pound or per pear. I got some and I learned at the checkout stand that the price was per pear. The avocados were 99 cents per avocado. okay that is not bad but why they have a bag of 5 avocados with the sign that reads 99 cents??? They need to be honest with their customers. I'm not planning on going back to this place. A guy that was next to the cashier I assumed he was the manager. Was explaining the prices to me. Living in Tujunga, this is our go to store for any Armenian grocery store items. The place is fairly small but has plenty of parking available. Inside can be a bit hard to get around when it's busier but that also means items are moving quicker and your probably getting pretty fresh stuff. Their prices are very fair compared to similar stores and based on my experience it's the cheapest and best stocked Armenian grocery store in sunland/tujunga areas. read more

Health Department! I have seen this so many times in Foothill Food Mart I can't believe it still goes on. Frequently their stocking staff will place a produce or other shipping box directly ON TOP OF open & exposed nuts and dried fruits, with the bottom of said filthy box in direct contact with the food. Totally against Health Department regulations, yet Foothill Food Mart management allows this to go on and on. The shipping box has been in an agricultural food processing facility, then in a filthy shipping truck, then in the back room of Foothill Food, with its behind-the-scenes filth... then set on the store floor with all manner of filth from the bottom of people's shoes, etc... And then it's placed on top of open dried fruit and nuts, directly touching the food?!!! OMG, disgusting. Why would anyone ever buy nuts and dried fruit from open boxes like that?!! read more

Not sure if the old man breathing on the cashiers necks is the owner but he needs to chill out. Instead of micromanaging your employees at the register maybe learn all your products on the shelf, I asked about yogurt with shallots and he had no idea no did he make an effort to help me, he directed me to the dried shallots to make it myself from home at $19 a box with a piece of hair in it. The entire time there was a different brand on the shelf that I hadn't seen and he didn't bother helping me to it, i told him about the hair in the dried shallots container, of course he took it removed it, went to put it back on shelf but didn't because he saw me walking up to pay, I'm sure he wasn't going to throw $19 of product away when he is breathing on his cashiers neck so they don't accidentally miscount a few cents. On another note, their meat, deli, bakery products are great, it's just a weird vibe when it comes time to pay and you have the owner or manager standing behind the cashier and not making an attempt to be nice to customers, they have cameras for that, his presence doesn't create a good customer experience but they will probably never understand this concept. read more

I am here about once a week for those items that only an Armenian store stocks. For example I have always liked apricot syrup on pancakes and waffles but since Knotts sold their recipes to Smuckers some years ago, this item has disappeared from most stores and the similar ones that I have purchased on line have been poor quality at best. This store has the real thing. In addition they have lavosh bread, akbar mashti ice cream and a deli which has a good selection of premium deli meats and salads. Pricing however is high overall as compared to similar items available at Albertsons such as fruits and vegetables potato salad and seafood salad (and not as fresh) and many of the items such as nuts are displayed in bins that are open for dirty hands to plunge into. No thanks! However they meet my needs for many middle eastern specialty items so I will continue to go there for those alone. read more

This placed used to be a decent local market but never again. 1. They raised their prices during a global pandemic because they cater to specific culture that relies on them for specific ethnic foods. Shame on you. 2. He does not abide by any social distancing guidelines to keep his customers or employees safe. The little store is packed full of people. Some wearing masks and some not.
