Dr. Rivera and her team are very nice. The office is always kept clean. The dental chairs are reasonably partitioned off with privacy from other patients. Dr. Rivera's care team are gentle and thorough. They always go over any concerns, care plans, treatment, and duration. The front desk is always pleasant with scheduling and accommodation. 3/4 of my family members visit this office and I am pleased with the work they provide. This practice was recommended by Winja. He's been coming here for the past 6 years or so and now commutes from the bayare for his teeth care. The waiting area is always clean and cozy, they have a good selection of magazine, coffee and tea maker. They sometimes have donuts and chocolates (after visit). I like that they call and send you text reminders. The actual dental rooms have headphones and TV to keep you entertain and I especially appreciate the headphone because I passionately hate the sound of the tools. Dr. Rivera is friendly and always remembers you and your last visit. The receptionist and dental assistance are equally friendly. I had to reschedule once and did a lot of back and forth and they were patient and responsive. This review is for phone etiquette ONLY. I recently got new insurance and heard about this dentist office from a friend that's been going here for several years. I initially called and was told that they are booked out solid for a month so immediately I thought I can't wait a month but figured I would try to get in sooner. The last I spoke with took my insurance info and later called me back to let me know they couldn't find me in the system. I then called my insurance and got all the info needed and called back a couple of days later. This time I spoke with a gentleman, he confirmed all of my insurance information and was able to schedule me on the following Monday. So when the day of my appointment came I got two calls. One lady called me to ask if I can come earlier than my appointment time which I couldn't. Then a few minutes later another lady called me saying they don't have my insurance info. At this point I was pretty annoyed because I had already given them all of my insurance info and it was confirmed. So it doesn't seem like staff communicates well here. I decided that with all of the back and forth I would cancel my appointment. Seems like they need better communication amongst the staff. I will go elsewhere read more

I'm currently pregnant and can't have critical procedures done, so Dr. Joanne labored over my pesky wisdom tooth instead of extracting it at this time. I could tell it wasn't easy because of the wisdom tooth's awkward position (hence why it became a problem), but she said, "I'll do my best for you", and really went above and beyond to deliver on that promise. They need to get a new receptionist! They all lack care for their clients. I was new to this place, and at first, was impressed. But after the second visit, it all went downhill from there. When their system went down, the receptionist said that they'd call me to schedule a next appointment. I'm a very busy person so i was expecting to get that call, 2 weeks later, still no call. But i finally was able to find the time to call myself and set up an appointment. They messed up my first filling, I complained about pains, all they did was put some kind of paste over it. I have to wait a couple of weeks before they can fix it, my schedule was tight so i understood the length of the next appointment and bared the pains. Only to find out they messed up the appointment schedule. I wanted the 21st, they set me up on the 20th and continued to insist my appointment was on the 20th. Now why would i set up an appointment on the 20th when i knew i would be working that day? So now i had to wait a month for the next appointment! If they'd actually fixed it on the day they put that paste on my teeth, then there would be no problem. But they didn't. And guess what? No call of confirmation for the next appointment, no reminders, nothing. At this point i was pissed. So on the day of the appointment, still no confirmation, 30 minutes past my appointment time, i call the office. Based on their reaction, i don't think they were even aware i missed my appointment. But. They managed to give me an appointment on the same day. So i canceled all my afternoon appointments and head over there. Waited a while, two clients came out already and i was still in the waiting room, well, waiting. 20 mins passed since my appointment, i gave up. I'm honestly a very patient person, but this place pushed all the wrong buttons and i completely gave up on them. Walked right out of there and decided never to come back. This place is a joke, a waste of time and a complete hassle. read more

Dr. Rivera has created a state-of-the-art dental office that is more like a spa. Dr. Rvera makes every visit to her office a pleasure. I have never been afraid of visiting the dentist so it's routine for my family and I to go. We left another dentist after 10 years and had no idea what we were missing. We were ready for a 4 hour visit and tons of scrapping and digging around in our mouths but not at this dental office. Let me tell you, Dr. Rivera has the good stuff! I have no idea what the device was but it was like having an ultra-sound on your teeth. Smooth and painless and you get out of her chair with pearly whites. My family & I have been going to Canyon Ranch Dental Care for the past few years. Hands down, the best dentist we've ever been to! Dr. Rivera is patient, caring & always explains what she is doing; especially helpful when dealing with younger patients like my son & daughter (now ages 9 &11). My little girl had a bad experience with a dentist a couple of years ago (unnecessary roughness) & was a little reluctant when we started going here. Looking for an honest and conservative dentist? This is the place to go! After being seen by another dentist just down the street and given my treatment plan for my fillings as well as my daughters, we decided to try another dentist in network with our insurance. Glad to say we did! Canyon Ranch and Dr. Joanna Rivera not only save me more than half the cost, but she was conservative and both my daughter and I were told we needed some fillings that were not necessary by the other dentist. My 3 kids needed to change dentists because our insurance changed. We decided to try. Dr. Rivera since they took our insurance and it was close to our house. We loved the office environment and the cleanliness of it. Having said that, all four of us will never go back because they were unnecessarily rough during the cleaning.
