Enjoyed a Day Pass here and was sure to arrive right at 8:00 a.m. and took the earliest class I could at 8:15 a.m. (Core & More.) After, I took their Desert Drumming (actually beokeoa sweat!) then their Stretch Yoga (great stretches were had!) and finally, their DJ Dance Party Workout (Wow! Fun & a great workout!) All of the staff I encountered were equal parts friendly, hospitable, & helpful! I enjoyed lunch at Vaquero and ordered their steak salad which was unfortunately, average. Wait for my salad was a bit too long, especially for a Thursday and it being their "off season." The hibiscus iced tea, coffee, and chocolate chip cookies were pretty great though! Wait staff was friendly. Vibe overall is chill and tranquil, which is what you're looking for when you come to a wellness spa, right?! To end things, I experienced a cold plunge in the lady's spa, followed by the hot spa. To end the day, I enjoyed an 80-min deep tissue massage and it was pretty amazing! Overall, the value of the day pass was good. All snacks, drinks, and lunch are included in the price and this is a NO GRATUITY property, so a bill is never exchanged during your experience here. Payment is set up beforehand. Overall, I would definitely return whenever I feel like I need some peace & quiet and overall wellness.

Wild Javalina's always on our patio.

I will let the pictures of our patio tell the story. This was a daily occurrence and the room.

Don't bother applying for any positions here, as Human Resources will NOT answer your emails, accept calls, or return voice mail messages left for them. One would think that a 5 star resort of this caliber would have a more professional H R department. THINK AGAIN!

Desert at dinner! Even at a health spa, yummm.

Canyon Ranch is a gift! The land and ground are healing places and then you add the amazing food, outdoor adventures, classes, and metaphysical offerings and you've got a magical place! I loved the bike ride in Saguaro National Park with cyclist guide Cindy. My astrology reading was an amazing experience (with Shivani). Yoga with sound healing was one of my favorites. If I could afford to stay longer, I would and I hope to go back.

So today as I leave canyon ranch after 2 weeks. I first want to say thank you to the team there. From the front desk Maxwell was amazing. The Restaurant people Chris and all the servers there outstanding. All the doctors and LEC team Marcie and everyone else. Mike Seemens and Jake amazing. Made me feel like a Rock Star. But the main thing was the level of service and the things that I learned at Canyon Ranch Saved my life and made Me a better person so I will definitely be back in 6 months. Thank you all for the wonderful experience and God Bless.

I love Canyon Ranch for a whole host of reasons... it's incredibly grounding, the wide range of spa/health services offered allow anyone to rest/recharge/relax on their terms and (my personal favorite) -- the food is delicious! The salmon tacos, mesquite flour pancakes & beet salad are among some of my favorites (all featured in the photos below). If you're considering a place to get away from it all, I cannot recommend Canyon Ranch Tucson enough. Their other properties are equally as lovely, but there's something special about the peace & tranquility offered by the desert landscape. The entire team at the ranch genuinely cares about your experience, and it's why I opted to become a member years ago. Thank you, Canyon Ranch!

Has anyone used the medical services at Canyon Ranch? I have a friend with medical and psychiatric issues who was talked into going here for treatment. I looked at the website and see a lot about integrative medicine and woo like meditation.

Their famous "bottomless" mimosas found their bottom this year, first one is free, but you pay for additional. I get it, price of everything has gone up so sad but it is understandable. But the stationed buffet is still amazing and bountiful. Literally soup to nuts, the outdoor grill station is a flurry of activity, complete with live music and misters. This brunch is well worth the price and you are encouraged to eat as long as you are able to. It's really enjoyable to observe packed tables with multiple generations of guests who are smiling, laughing, quaffing and eating beautifully crafted dishes that are endless! It's a go to place for special occasions, the property is absolutely beautiful with amazing views, and because of their reputation I believe reservations are a must. Four Diamonds, Three Bad Options, Zero Planning!…read more I stayed at the JW Marriott Tucson Starr Pass Resort & Spa on September 10, when the hotel was sold out and hosting a major urology conference with several thousand attendees on top of its normal guest load. Despite this entirely predictable demand, management closed the resort's signature Italian restaurant for an employee appreciation event. The other major dining outlet was also unavailable. That left guests with three spectacular options: eat outside by the pool in 100 plus degree heat, attempt to make lunch from the coffee bar, or order room service with an estimated 90 minute wait during the lunch rush. Apparently, receiving a meal before the next calendar day is not part of the AAA Four Diamond standard. I support employee appreciation, but closing the main restaurant at a sold out luxury resort during a massive conference without providing adequate alternative dining is absurd. Hold the event in a ballroom. Increase staffing. Create a temporary dining option. Do literally anything that resembles planning. The property may have four stars and four diamonds, but the operational planning deserved one plastic rhinestone. Beautiful resort. Premium prices. Limited service. Embarrassing management decision.

But, there are some things to note, namely on cost: 1. There are great "summer" rates and packages available - they usually run from mid-May until just before Labor Day. 2. Valet parking is $42 a day - there really isn't another option. 3. The resort fee is $68.73 per day (that includes tax) 4. Food and drink are VERY pricey - especially breakfast and lunch (my small egg white omelet with greens on the side was $29). If you have the ability, use the To-Go coffee and bakery spot next to Core Kitchen & Bar. They are open until 11am everyday. 5. They do cater, fairly well, to gluten-free needs. Other things to note: We were in room 2805 - a beautiful, clean, and comfortable room. It was so nice to have a fire pit on our terrace to enjoy (as well as the wildlife that stopped by to say hi). Note that there is a sidewalk that runs the length of the hotel, right in front of the fire pits so during the day, it does not feel as private. The spa cabana was worth the price tag if you plan on wanting to be outside all day and want to keep cool in between soaking in the sun or swimming in the pool. It's also adults-only. Miraval is definitely now one of my 'Happy Places'. Upon check-in the staff took care of everything, we were greeted, bags taken away to our room and our car taken away by the valet. The staff were all smiles. Dee Dee checked us in and offered us tour of the property with Steve since it was our first visit here. She also walked us over to the cafe to grab a smoothie to enjoy while on our tour. Steve picked us up, and showed us the whole property while explaining where everything was and small details about the property such as the MULTIPLE pools! We did several classes with lots of variation from Meditation to Vison Boards + health and wellness classes. We really enjoyed spending time with all of their experts learning things from them to improve our daily lives. All of them answered every question without hesitation. A true all-star line up I must say! Let's talk about the FOOD! Every meal/snack we ate here was VERY tasty! Our bodies felt amazing after just one or two meals. Mostly everything they serve is locally sourced and organic. We looked forward to finding out the Chef's special with every meal we sat down to. Diana and Alice were amazing to us, providing us such great service at every meal. We did the "Just cook for me" dinner session with two other couples. We were all strangers, but it was very enjoyable! We spent about 3hrs with our new friends, talking, laughing, enjoying great food and wine cooked up/Served by Zach and Hannah. We did spend some time at the Spa and both of us were very happy with the staff and services provided that we chose. Other visitors we had spoken with said they enjoyed the massages they got. I think we will add that to our list for next visit. The property and staff as a whole, just embody peace, serenity and calmness. My favorite thing about the property is that the pools are 24/7 - We laid on our backs in the saltwater pool at midnight, just looking up at the stars in the Arizona night sky. I didn't have a care in world, just living in the moment. We felt so disconnected here from the outside world (in a good way), and that was something I will always remember and enjoy. Nobody had their phones out (Our stayed in our room the whole time!) and as someone who has to be connected 24/7 usually, this was VERY refreshing. I took all of these photos with my sunglasses. My partner and I had no problem striking up conversations about everything we were experiencing and how we could apply it to our everyday lives. Thank You Miraval for the most amazing life changing experience and we look forward to our next visit!
