Armory Park Inn has a lot of potential, but unfortunately our experience left something to be desired, and I would not choose to stay here again. I really wanted to like this place. The inn itself is a charming historic home in downtown Tucson. The neighborhood felt quiet, and was a convenient location for exploring the area. We stayed in the Pennington Room, which was comfortable overall, and there were several aspects of the property we genuinely enjoyed. Unfortunately, our check-in experience overshadowed the rest of our stay. We booked and prepaid our reservation through Priceline, which is a common booking method for travelers. Before our trip (July 1-5), I called the inn on June 20 to confirm our reservation, let them know we would be arriving late, and request a breakfast basket for the following morning since we planned to sleep in. They confirmed everything, including our reservation, breakfast request, and even provided our door codes. When we arrived that evening, we were locked out. I called the owner, who answered, but told me Priceline had canceled our reservation. The next 45 minutes to an hour consisted of multiple phone calls, requests for my payment information, and confusion over whether we even had a room. Eventually, after speaking with the manager, they acknowledged the issue was on their end and let us into our room. After traveling all day in the Arizona summer heat, it was frustrating to arrive at a room that had not been prepared for our arrival. The air conditioning had not been turned on, the room was extremely warm, and the sheets had black streaks on them that looked like ink marks. The breakfast basket we had requested in advance was also missing. The following morning, I contacted Priceline directly. They confirmed my reservation had never been canceled and that everything was correct on their end. Later, the explanation from the inn changed from "Priceline canceled your reservation" to "Priceline provided us with an invalid virtual payment card." Regardless of where the payment issue originated, it was concerning that we were repeatedly asked about payment after already prepaying, and I wanted written confirmation that we would not be charged a second time at checkout. Thankfully, the inn did provide that reassurance, and we did not experience any additional billing issues. My impression is that the property struggles with third-party bookings. If you plan to stay here, I would recommend booking directly through the inn rather than through a travel site to hopefully avoid a similar experience. Once the check-in issues were resolved, our stay was generally peaceful. However, the staff continued bringing up the reservation problem during breakfast each morning and repeatedly told us they wanted to treat us like "normal guests," which unintentionally kept reminding us of the difficult start to our stay. Breakfast ended up being one of the highlights of our visit. We were told the first morning's breakfast was not up to their usual standard because they had not been expecting us due to the reservation confusion. Even so, it was delicious. Each morning included fresh pastries and a yogurt parfait topped with fresh fruit and honey. While the parfait remained consistent each day, the hot breakfast changed and gave us the opportunity to try different dishes. One morning featured chile eggs that were especially delicious. Every breakfast also included a simple arugula salad with balsamic vinaigrette, which was a nice, fresh addition. Throughout the day, guests also had access to complimentary refreshments, including Nespresso coffee, spring water, and Pepperidge Farm cookies available 24 hours a day. The breakfasts and hospitality in this regard were definitely a standout part of the experience. The property itself has its strengths. The bathrooms are nicely updated, the room was refreshed daily, the water pressure was good, and housekeeping kept everything smelling clean. Just note that the standard refresh service does not include changing the sheets each day. Because it is a historic home, the room stayed fairly warm, and while the shower had good water pressure, the temperature never became especially hot or cold. The television also only offered DirecTV, so if you're accustomed to streaming services or a smart TV, that's something to be aware of. Overall, the inn is charming, the breakfasts were excellent, and it's located in a great neighborhood. However, the disorganized check-in process and inconsistent communication made what should have been a relaxing vacation start on a stressful note. read more

Our team booked six rooms and The Cottage in May 2026. We needed a hotel close to downtown Tucson for our team, who were at the end of a multi state work trip. Armory Park Inn was a huge treat after staying in the usual corporate hotels. Amy and Dora handled our booking with care and went out of their way to assist us with our requests. We really appreciated the free street parking, were grateful for the indoor and outdoor seating areas and loved our breakfast. The rooms were spotlessly clean and the beds were the most comfortable I've slept in anywhere, including in my own home! I know where I'll be booking the next time I'm in Tucson, whether it's for work or a personal trip, our only regret is that we weren't there for longer! read more

We enjoyed a great staycation at the Armory Park Inn on a Saturday night. The location is very nice and walking distance to many restaurants in downtown Tucson. The room was very luxurious with a very comfortable bed and a great comforter. A lot of five star touches to the room and the Inn. Let me say up front that I didn't stay overnight but a friend suggested we tour it after hearing about it and expecting out of town visitors. The owner, Amy agreed to show us around. I was particularly interested as I'm a long time Tucsonan who appreciates our history and heard the place honors our history. The inn is located in an historic area and I learned a lot about some Tucson history from Amy who has done a wonderful job decorating the place. Each of the rooms is named for a person with history in Tucson. Each has a painting of the person represented and the painter included symbols in the portrait showing something from their history. The rooms are cheerful and modern with an in suite bathroom. There are several seating areas inside and out so no one would feel crowded. I enjoyed the section with a bookcase filled with books about Tucson and it's history that guests could enjoy. It is a bed and breakfast and options sound appealing. There is wine in evenings. So many touches for guests to feel at home. I will definitely recommend it to Tucson visitors. read more

OK, we had researched the room options and knew going in that the Charley Brown room was small. And it definitely was. But it was nicely appointed and we didn't spend a lot of time there anyway. It would have been nice if the TV had a Netflix option though. Amy was pleasant and welcoming and Dora made some awesome scones for one of out breakfasts. A wonderful breakfast is included in the price as is an evening drink and snack. We weren't able to try the evening food but the breakfast food was really, really good. We had some questions and texting seems to work best in getting answers. But the answers were prompt and spot on. It's street parking but the Inn wasn't busy so that was a piece of cake. It's close to Old Tucson so that's a plus, too. read more

Words can not express how amazing this place is. The friendliness and sincerity from Amy & Dora is phenomenal. They are doing truly wonderful things at this b&b. The room: Larcena Pennington was fantastic. Bathroom was gorgeous, water pressure was great, the bed was extremely comfy and the bedding was so lush. We slept like a baby every single night. I added a bottle of wine & cheese plate during our booking and both were waiting for us when we arrived. The cheese plate was delicious and worth the extra cost! The facility: I used the gym downstairs and it was great. It has a treadmill, peloton bike, weights and yoga mats. Lysol wipes to wipe down everything you use. It was really nice! The outside patio both downstairs & upstairs is beautiful. Such a pretty space to sit and relax with coffee or wine. The breakfast: the food was AMAZING. They listened to food allergies and we had no problems! Dora, I know I told you this each day but your food is fantastic. Her scones & lemon curd are superb. We were lucky to have 2 breakfasts here and both were different. They had a wonderful variety of greens, fresh fruit, eggs, meat & carbs. Armory Hour: at 5pm you come downstairs and get a glass of wine, beer or seltzer. They gave us a mixed nut mix that Dora says they season in house. I'm telling you this mix was amazing and barely lasted a couple minutes. Amy & Dora, your hospitality is amazing and it was so nice meeting you. Anytime I am coming to Tucson, I am going to stay here! Everything about the Inn is warm and welcoming from the fine historic building to the delicious breakfasts prepared by Dora. The bedrooms and indoor/outdoor common areas are tastefully appointed in Southwestern style and it could not be a better place to rest and refresh after exploring nearby downtown Tucson. i was there for a bike trip and Dora took care of our every need including secure bike storage and early morning coffee and scones to go. Awesome boutique inn! My wife and I spent five nights in this lovely inn for the gem show. If you want a spa like experience, I highly recommend this place. It is very close to downtown Tucson so you can walk to great restaurants and our favorite coffee shop but yet it is set in the middle of a beautiful neighborhood. You can tell the homeowners care about their neighborhood. The entire property is beautiful from the inside impeccable decor to the serenity of the outside lounging areas. The attention to detail is amazing; from the decor to the bedroom linens, to the breakfast; it's all thought through. Amy, the owner, and Dora the manager do an excellent job of tending to your needs. We eat keto and they made sure that the breakfasts fit our diet perfectly. They really want to make your stay as relaxing as possible and it shows. read more

I honestly don't have enough good things to say about Armory Park Inn. If you want a memorable experience in a historic home, don't bother looking anywhere else. You won't find anything else like it in downtown Tucson. My husband and I decided to drive down to Tucson while in Scottsdale visiting his dad. We're not huge resort people, so we were looking for an in-town boutique hotel close to restaurants, sites and historic neighborhoods. Nailed it! When we arrived, the owner, Amy, greeted us at the door and immediately made us feel welcome. She showed us around and told us about the history of the home (a travel stop for weary soldiers heading to the Presidio). As it turned out, we were the only guests that evening, so we had the whole place to ourselves which felt a bit like being allowed to stay alone overnight at your parents' house as a teenager. Somehow API is both luxurious and comfortable at the same time. There are seven beautifully appointed bedrooms (four downstairs and three up), as well as plenty of communal areas in which to congregate with others or quietly sit and read a newspaper. "Armory Hour" (yummy wine and snacks) is a nice way to meet and greet with the other guests, or you can choose to take your drink back to your room, if you're not feeling particularly sociable. Amy is a perfectionist in the very best way possible, and it shows in each and every detail. Every feature is intentional and precise - from the bathroom amenities to the Turkish towels and the bathrobes with slippers; from the lovely furnishings to the gorgeous landscaping. The beautiful antiques have been carefully selected by Amy to correspond with and accentuate the original history and beauty of the home. However, the entire inn also has been completely updated with modern comforts and conveniences, like hi-speed Wifi and wall-mounted cable TVs. Even the window blinds are remote controlled. The beds with their Frette linens are so comfortable you won't want to get up in the morning. But you will...because the breakfasts are divine. On our first morning, Amy made yogurt/granola parfaits, sous vide egg cups, sausages and fresh croissants. We were stuffed, but very happy. The following morning, Dora, the wonderful inn manager, blew me away with her almond scones. I swear, they were the best scones I've ever had. So much so that I asked if I could steal extras for later. (She gave me a brown paper bag to carry them.) She made eggs-to-order for my husband with toast and grapefruit jam she made from fruit from her backyard. I'm not a grapefruit person, but this tasted more like blood orange and was truly delicious. For me, Dora prepared a yogurt parfait with fresh fruit and her homemade granola, which I topped with the yummy grapefruit jam. The last morning, Dora again made scones, blueberry this time, and chile rellenos cups. A wonderful recipe which I think I will try at home. Unfortunately, it was chilly and mostly rainy while we were there, but I hope to return when the weather is just a little warmer, so we can take advantage of the beautiful back courtyard where they serve breakfast on nice mornings and have a fire in the fire pit on cool evenings. Without question, it was the Armory Park Inn that made our visit to Tucson truly memorable. Thank you, Amy and Dora! I miss our chats already. My husband & I were in Tucson for U of A parent's weekend and found this beautiful bed & breakfast to be such a lovely escape from the overcrowded hotels in the area. It's in a historic neighborhood yet just a few minutes drive to campus. From the soaring ceilings with railroad ties and chandeliers to the gorgeous outside landscaping with plenty of outside patio areas, we really enjoyed our stay. The bed was super comfortable and the oversized closet was beyond expectations. It was also very quiet in our room so we slept well and woke up to fresh coffee and a delicious breakfast frittata with green chilies and cheese. I would definitely stay here again! You can tell that they have put a lot of thought and attention to detail into everything. Well done! read more

We stayed at this wonderful property for two nights the last week of June. This boutique hotel or B&B is a treasure not to be missed when staying in Tucson. It is a charming house that was totally remodeled by the proprietor Amy when she purchased the property. No detail was spared in her update. You can tell that she takes great pride in her venture. The morning breakfast is wonderful and Amy may even accommodate a special request as she did for me. If you stay here, you will not be sorry. Awesome! Wish we could have stayed longer. This wonderful inn has done everything to perfection. No detail missed. Amy was great in getting us get settled. Room was immaculate and has every amenity you need. High quality linens, towels, coffee, tea. We checked in right around "happy hour" and had a lovely snack and and beverage while we unpacked. Amy had suggestions for dinner and restaurants were within walking distance. Had a full breakfast (yogurt with citrus and nuts, frittata, sausage, fruit) before heading out to a local museum she had suggested. When we pass thru Tucson again we will be back. read more

We stayed here for one night and I wish it would have been 3-5 nights. It's the most wonderful B&B I've stayed in-EVER! The communal areas are warm and welcoming, inside and out. They have a complimentary happy hour from 5-6 with a few things to nosh on while you sip your beverage chatting with the other guests. Welcoming. Peaceful. Cozy. Accessible! I stayed her for two nights when in town for a stressful meeting. Amy greeted me at the door to help with bags and my room was very conveniently located just inside the door. I have a mobility disability (wear leg braces and use a cane), so these things are important to me. Why stay in a large, impersonal hotel when you could stay here?! It's truly a peaceful oasis and Old Tucson-feel. I felt like I was being welcomed into a friend's home, so the stress I was feeling was immediately released. The bed was super comfy, and the walk-in shower was luxurious (all hotels should get rid of tub/shower combos!). Breakfast was fantastic, as was the charcuterie plate & wine in my room, and the wine and snacks during Armory Hour. Amy, thank you for going out of your way for me! I hate to give a five star rating to this outstanding small boutique hotel but,in fact, it is worth five stars. This is a small boutique hotel that has done everything very well. A former stagecoach stop has been refurbished, updated, and architecturally improved with refined decor. The rooms are comfortable and spotless, the communal areas are welcoming and spotless, the breakfasts, prepared on site, were very good. Dora, the manager, was there to help.
