Gophers coming out of several holes during the game.
    Jeannette M.

HORRIBLE FIELD!!! My son had a soccer game here & the field has been taken over by Gophers, isn't it the League's responsibility to make sure the fields are in the best condition? It IS NOT SAFE for the kids to play on... they can get their cleats stuck in all the holes on the field & hurt or tear something. As the kids were playing several Gophers were sticking their heads out of the holes. The FLIES are also relentless!!! Also The Home Field Team couldn't be adult enough to sit on the same side as us so the Female Ref ( who over rode the other refs calls when they're in our favor) made our visiting Team move to the other side. Then every time the home team players would trip on the GOPHER HOLES she would blow her whistle even when there was NO CONTACT with our players... What a ridiculous plus for the home team!! She allowed horrible throw in's for her home team... such a sad thing when these kids deserve a FAIR game but because we are minorities we DON'T get one. This was a great example on how people racially profile & a lesson to my son that people make excuses for their bad behavior. So disappointed in Anaheim.

The big deal here is to take photos adjacent to the large water fountain. This is an extremely popular photo location, as over 100 students here in formal wear from various high schools. The park itself was very clean and well-maintained, with numerous areas for visitors to take photos. Parking is available in one of the numerous parking lots surrounding the park.

Parking was very limited at that time, so plan ahead if you're going early. Clearly, a lot of people know this is the spot for a serious workout. The stairs themselves are brutal in the best way possible. After about three rounds, my legs were completely done--but it's such an effective workout. This place really gets your cardio in fast, and you feel accomplished every time you finish a round. The views along the way make it even more worth it. We also came back later in the day around 5:30 PM. It starts to get a bit dark around that time, so that's something to keep in mind, but it's still a great experience and totally worth it. Overall, if you're looking for a challenging, fun, and effective outdoor workout, Hillcrest Park stairs deliver every time. Just be ready for sore legs and limited parking during peak hours.

I met up with a friend that I hadn't seen for awhile and it was the perfect place to catch up during a walk around of the garden. I loved the pond with the lily pads and turtles, and the Heritage House surrounded by orange trees and roses. I was impressed by the amount of orange trees. It reminds you of why they call it Orange County. If I went to school here I'd be here probably once a week. Otherwise it's great to come if you live in the OC.

From the parking lot it was easy to follow the signs along to the garden. The garden had areas that represented Woodlands, Mediterranean, Dessert, and a Cultivated Collection. There were walking paths but I still recommend closed toed shoes since it's a bit sandy. They had many benches throughout for resting or handing out and admiring nature. We spent about an hour here, but to be fair I'm not that into nature. I GOT A BUG BITE and it swelled and was super itchy. Sigh. I think someone who super loved nature or wanted to take their time to hang out could take 2-3 admiring all the plant life. My FAVORITE moments here was when we came across wildlife. My favorite were the rabbit, turtle, and crane. It's beautiful. Great spot to get some steps in and absorb some sunlight.

I saw at least two different restrooms, and plenty of parking. Now that we got the information out of the way, let me just say this place is just so beautiful! Came here to take a walk this morning, and was so pleasantly surprised. The pathway is not super huge, and kind of circles around. Yet it is so scenic with lakes, trees, bridges, greenery, and even duckies. I saw few people fishing, some exercising, and most just strolling and enjoying the scenery. Wanted to keep this place as my little secret place, but was too beautiful not to share with Yelp.

I enjoyed the greenery thoughout this park and the mini waterfalls by the lake area. There's also some short stairs here, if you'd like to work up on some cardio. There's like two main parking lots here, at least that's what I saw. I did see some homeless just resting on the grass area by the lake and street side. But they seem harmless, but they can be there if you visit that part of the park. But still a worthy park to go and visit.
