This place doesn't look like much from the road as it's attached to a fishing shop but the restaurant gives you a lovely view of the river. The food was quite good but prices were higher than expected. They also had good cocktail options. I was most surprised by how quickly they move people through. We were in and out in under 45 minutes! I never felt rushed though, things just arrived quickly.

Exceptional. If nothing else just come out here for the drive & the view and if you love fly fishing, that's a super bonus.Win win. So even though this place is quite loud and it is at a fishing lodge, I was happily surprised at the wine menu. There's something for everyone. Let's get to the food because even if the food is average, it's still worth coming here, but it's NOT average. The Caesar salad is charred lettuce heads (whoa!) and it comes with fabulous anchovies (not those canned anchovies) the white ones .. the extra touch just makes it exceptional (like I said in the outset). My husband ordered the fried chicken. I the flash fried red snapper and our friend the oysters and swordfish and I cannot say enough about how great the food is. Order the bread service. Ask for Maren our server. Not only is she an exceptional server. She's very easy on the eyes.

This place punches way above its weight. Superficially it looks like a cafe that's tucked into the back of a fly fishing shop, but that does not do it justice by a long shot. The food is so darned good - the butter poached shrimp is the most crave-worthy, must-return-for-it menu item in my opinion (we practically licked the garlic butter from the bottom of the pan), but all of the other items we sampled were terrific, too (that first-of-the-season salmon was firing on all cylinders - succulent fish perfectly prepared, and the accompaniments! The asparagus, the fried Basil, the dried cherries, the toasted hazelnuts... oof). Dessert was pretty tasty, too; we shared the key lime pie and the flan. Portions were very generous, and easily shared. The service and location are charming, too - that view of the Yakima River and the canyon cannot be beat. Other Yelpers have complained about the price of a meal here, but it's well worth it in light of the location, food quality, and the warmth of the staff.

Elegance on the river. Beautiful in every way. A delicious lunch stop. Extensive menu. Something for everyone!

Great lunch menu and food. Service was good, and we had a view of the river when we dined here in August 2023. Given the casual appearance of the place, I don't think we expected the menu to include so many different options, and I sure didn't expect our lunch to be plated as beautifully as it was. Our salads, my soup, and dessert were all delicious.

For a long while, this spot has been a bit food a rotating door as far as restaurants go. Recently however, Canyon river grill moved in and the rotation came to a screeching halt! This is absolutely one of our favorite new spots and an absolute gem for the area. Located right in the river, it boasts a beautiful view from the deck and lovely sights inside. The place doesn't seat a ton of folks to reservations are a good idea. The menu is ever changing and is a healthy mix of southern inspired favorites like fried chicken, hush puppies and catfish. They pivot to fine dining options like sashimi grade tuna, steaks, halibut cheeks and kurobuta pork. It's a magnificent breadth of options! Each tim we've been here, the dishes are phenomenal and the service impeccable. Despite everything already being very impressive, the bar takes it up a level! The mixed drink options are excellent and run the gamut from boozy to very fruity and light. Many times, the bartenders will make you something based on whatever alcohol you like, and they have uniformly been phenomenal! Most recently, we had a basil infused vodka with a passion fruit whip on top. It was one of the favorite drinks we've ever had! The place is popular so plan ahead - You won't be disappointed checking this place out!

This place is nestled in the Ellensburg Canyon. Normally a spot for Sunday drives now is a destination surrounded by a beautiful river and local campgrounds. This place is truly a hidden gem. The food is outstanding and our server Jarrod knew everything about the local sourcing of the food, even to their own in-house garden they have for herbs and vegetables, the building is shared with a pro shop on one side and townhouses on the other. Reservations are must and if you are a guest, they have beautiful stone lined path to walk along the river, benches, and parks for you to enjoy.

I heard from many good friends that Canyon River Grill is doing big things. Currently I live across the country though after following their Instagram this became our number one spot to check out for dinner while back in town. Their menu is Cajun inspired, though they feature seasonal foods from the Pacific Northwest, particularly from the Yakima valley. Our waitress stated chef Kevin sources, the majority of its food from local farmers, and even forges through the cascade wilderness for mushrooms to compliments dishes. I want with the tenderloin which was phenomenal. How often do you see elk featured on the menu? The rest of our group went with more of the staples, including fish and chips and fried chicken. I have to say well. The elk was incredible. The fried chicken was the star of the evening for sure. I've been craving that crunchy goodness since. They recently renovated their patio, which has a nice outdoor covering and large fireplace. When I go back again, I'll definitely specify that my reservation is for the outdoor patio. The ambience is awesome. Almost every dining table has a view overlooking the Yakima river. Often times you'll see people out on their boats fly fishing, which is a pretty cool dining experience. They have a very expensive wine menu and future craft brewers from the Yakima valley. Their Instagram is definitely worth a follow to see their featured seasonal offerings. For sure, make a reservation advance as the tables and get booked up pretty quickly. This is by far one of the most fun Daniel experiences I've had in a while, we will be definitely back again. Next time you're in town!

Omg. That food was so good!!…read more Hubby got the tenderloin and loved it which is super rare for him to say about steak when he eats out. It came with mashed potatoes and green beans, and had Gorgonzola cheese, as well as bacon chunks and mushrooms spread all over the steak. Meat was very tender and cooked exactly like he likes it which is medium rare. Portions of everything were generous. He also got a Caesar salad which he enjoyed but would ask for light dressing on it next time since it was way too much dressing My son got a basic burger. He thought it was very good but would prefer the Patti be a little shorter and wider than taller and less wide. The sandwiches and burgers don't come with sides which is weird. So we ordered the french fries to share. They're my very favorite type - medium thickness (1cm x 1cm), long, crispy but doesn't break when you bend it and not oily at all I had the BLT with avocado and pesto aioli sandwich but I made it into a grilled chicken burger. It was very good and the bacon there is amazing. So thick but not overly greasy either. And not fatty. Amazing flavor. Plus the walls are old brick and we love brick so really enjoyed the setting Great service too. He knew the menu really well and was always there when we needed him. Very friendly. I could tell he likes his job. We will be going back!

Mine came out just slightly more done than I ordered, but honestly not enough to bother me much. With a steak that large, especially around the bone, I was kind of expecting some variation in the cook anyway. Most of it was right where I wanted it and the flavor was excellent. My date got the full rack of ribs and those were also really good. We both got baked potatoes, although I went with the baked sweet potato, and everything on the sides was cooked well. We also had a few margaritas. I had a couple of the spicy ones and they were really good, definitely better than I expected from a chain steakhouse. The peanuts were a nice snack too and I ended up taking some home. Our server was excellent. I unfortunately cannot remember his name, but he was a younger guy and did a great job throughout the meal. He was attentive without hovering and everything came out smoothly. Overall, this was exactly what I want from Texas Roadhouse. Big portions, a good steak, solid drinks, and great service. I would definitely come back if I am in Yakima again.

Even though the restaurant was pretty busy the food came out in a timely manner. They cook a pretty good sirloin. It was definitely a memorable experience, with a busy crowd and cheap beers. My friends and I went wine tasting in the Yakima area for the day and decided to stop by here after dinner, per the recommendation of the bartenders at the restaurant we ate at and the gals sitting next to us. Speaking of the gals sitting next to us during dinner, we ended up spotting them here at The Sports Center later on, so they definitely weren't lying about this being the hang out spot. The Sports Center had a lot going on, with one room blasting live music and a dance floor and the other room where most of the people were with pool, darts and tables for lounging and drinking. My friends and I hung out around the front room where the band was performing and we were the only ones dancing. Kind of weird how no one else joined in. So then we went to the other room to play pool. Not the best bar to hang out in, but I guess you could say it's where to be in Yakima on a Saturday night.
