Eggs Benedict is one of the dishes Palace Cafe was known for, and delivery was a massive and perfectly done plate of the eggs and hash browns. This is a nice small town diner. They have gluten free options and they do not use any seed oils. The service was good as well. When we walked in, the front bakery area had gluten free cookies for sale. For breakfast, they can turn any omelette into a scramble. It's $1 more for gluten free toast. An older building with lots of character inside: brick walls and black and white pictures hung on the walls. With a large group dining in, they were able to accommodate our party in a private room. For $20 you don't expect the pasta to be dry, and you expect the garlic bread to impress and this didn't. However, as far as Alfredo goes, the flavour was very good and himself was pleased with that aspect. The portion for the price was definitely lacking. Our go to place for 20 years since we moved to Eburg. My personal favorites include the onion rings, clam chowder, chili, fish and chips, shrimp Louie salad and the coffee. The staff has always been tops and I'd recommend The Palace to anyone wanting a good meal at any time of the day. read more

This place looks questionable from the outside. Well, inside as well. It is dark with small dark table and chairs. Standard silverware, the cheap tin and paper napkins. cheap decor. The staff were all really friendly. Unfortunately the food was poor. What really sounded good was the mashed potatoes with crunchy chicken and covered with gravy. What could go wrong? See picture. Heading up to ellensburg for a show at the gorge and stumbled upon this place. Was craving some soup and it was clam chowder. This was probably one of the best clam chowders I've ever tried. It wasn't creamy but held a lot of flavor inside. Nothing was overpowering. It was very light. Wish more people made it like this. The sliders were disappointing. The bacon made it super salty and there was no special sauce with it so it was dry. Good thing we had ranch because I would've thrown it away. Sure it looks like eggs benedict but the eggs aren't poached it's not Canadian bacon it's sandwich meat ham, and the Hollandaise sauce doesn't taste very buttery or lemony. this is not to say this was a bad dish it just didn't wow me in any way. The hash browns are your usual pre-cut from the food delivery manufactured that they fry on a flat grill and cut into polygon for you. Yesterday around 1:00 while washing up in the rest room I heard a toilet flush. Out popped a young employee in a black Palace tee-shirt heading straight out the door, without washing his hands! I followed him out to see if he had a special place to wash up. Instead he went directly to bussing tables, sticking his fingers into glasses, picking up three at a time with each hand! I was appalled as I went back and broke the bad news to my party, already eating at my table. Drove to Ellensburg to meet some friends, they had already eaten so I went over to the The Palace to have a couple of drinks & dinner. I have been to this establishment probably over 28 mnths ago more than a couple of times so I felt good going into the bar by myself. Should have thought again. To which the bartender again ignored me again- I am starting to wonder what did I do to deserve this kind of service (or non service)... was I being loud, drunk, or obnoxious noooo I had drove. Into town from Kent and I drank water. So after ignoring me again, he finally gave me another drink (again nvr asked me if I would like a menu or something to eat--which I did) 2 other customer came in & received great Svc,,, again confusing me! I was preparing to leave and one of the customers asked why & I told him, he offered to purchase me a drink and some dinner-- the bartender then gave me a menu, but told the other customer that I was not allowed to have another drink, he didn't think this was the 1st place I had been & that I had been drinking prior..... actually said he did not believe me! Cody and I stopped in here last Sunday around 11 am for brunch. When we walked up, there were people waiting outside. When we got to the counter to put our name in the lady told us it was a 30 min wait, with a 30 min wait time on food once we got sat... no diner enjoys hearing that lol. There's a bar attached to this place so I asked if it was "seat yourself" back there and the lady said yes! So we walked over to the saloon section of the place and there was actually a number of openings back there! She did warn us there was only one bartender so service might be slow, but knowing they were busy I kinda expected it to be a lil slow and it wasn't too bad! They have a large bar to sit at, and there's also a number of high top tables in the bar area that are included in the first come first serve section! We ordered: - cinnamon roll - Eggs Benny - Country Fried Steak with loaded hash browns - coffee The cinnamon roll was delicious! I had spied it on their specials of the day and immediately knew I had to try it! The food did take a lil bit of time to come out, but I never felt it was excruciating of a wait. I really enjoyed my eggs benny, it has a great hollandaise sauce on it! I tried Cody's loaded and hash browns and it was pretty good. I was trying to be good and not order both cinnamon roll and loaded potatoes, so I am glad Cody got it so I could try it lol. They forgot the gravy on his country fried steak so it looked weird when it came out, but they brought it out on the side and all was normal again lol. Cody mentioned he liked my eggs benny better than his country fried steak. Overall, I would come back here for their brunch! Just wish it wasn't so crowded lol. read more

My wife and I went to palace cafe for dinner tonight because we had not been in a couple years. I ordered the palace burger and she ordered the hot prime rib. I would like to say the waitress provided adequate service and was clearly very attentive as we saw her talking with the other patrons. The food itself was not so good. My burger was alright but nothing special especially since it costed almost 14 dollars. My wife's hot prime rib sandwich was considerably bad, the prime rib itself tasted old and had a strange after taste. Also we're not sure how the prime rib was cooked but it was very much over cooked and had a strange texture. I would not recommend getting the hot prime rib here. And if you want to get a burger almost any other bar/tavern/ restaurant will serve up a higher quality burger for a smaller cost. Overall our experience wasn't the worst but we definitely feel that 42 dollars could have been spent much better somewhere else. read more
