Honestly, I really wanted to love this place because I had heard such great reviews about it. The ambience is very cute, but unfortunately the service was extremely disappointing. It started with our drinks. My friends ordered peach martinis, but two purple martinis came out instead. I asked the waiter what flavor they were and he said pear. I explained that we didn't order those, and eventually the correct peach martinis were brought out. However, they were oddly placed in front of me instead of the friends who actually ordered them and didn't have drinks yet. Then when our food arrived, one of my friends had ordered pesto pasta with specific instructions, but she was served Alfredo instead. Because of that mistake, we had to wait additional time for the correct dish. Earlier in the meal we were also asked if we wanted bread, and we assumed it was complimentary. When the checks arrived, we noticed the bread had been charged to one of the cards randomly. It would have been nice to know upfront that there was a cost for it. Being open and transparent about things like that is important in this industry and helps build trust with customers. Unfortunately, things continued to go wrong. All four of us had leftovers, and the restaurant takes the food to the back to pack it up for you. When our waiter returned with the boxes, he gave the meals to the wrong people. Luckily we opened them to double check, especially since there had already been several mix-ups throughout the night. I'm not exactly sure what went wrong, but we were seated on the upper level and there was no one else around us. Regardless of whether a restaurant is busy or not, there should still be a standard of service, and unfortunately that was not reflected during our visit. Mistakes can happen, but acknowledging them and making an effort to fix them goes a long way, and that was something we didn't experience from our waiter. read more

We stopped in for a late dinner on Easter. The restaurant was not busy but there were customers. The waitress and staff were pleasant but perhaps not well trained or just very new to their jobs. They were not real efficient and paid more attention to resetting tables than addressing the needs of their customers. We were in an area where there were a few other tables with customers. I had to ask for water refills twice. We ordered our dinner, my husband asked for the prime rib dip, I ordered the chop salad. The meal came out as an order of prime rib and the chopped salad. He explained he wanted the prime rib dip. She took the entree back to the kitchen and 5 minutes later came back to tell us the dip was not available. Then went back to get a menu so he ordered something else. At that time she offered a free dessert for the trouble. None of this was catastrophic and as I said the food tasted good, but it isn't what I would expect at this restaurant. The staff was friendly but young and inexperienced. Maybe more training focusing on the needs of the customer. Wish the prime rib dip had been available, the chop salad was delicious! read more

I have been going to Zesta for years and I always get the Chicken Marsala gluten free. I haven't been in a few years and I was very disappointed in the chicken Marsala. The sauce was watered down and I had to add salt. It was so bland. My husbands Alfredo was the same way, watered down and not rich and thick as Alfredo should be. Food was very under seasoned. He got the Berry Cobbler and I kid you not it was like soup. The crust was not cooked. Out waitress was great and we left no complaints, just are not planning on returning. I'm not sure if this is cutting costs, but this is not a good plan when people will not return. It was our 36 yr anniversary, so it was even more disappointing. We've gone here multiple times for birthdays and they have been so accommodating and helpful. Very friendly staff, and the server even recognized me from last year! I keep picking them for my birthday because the atmosphere is so pretty and the service is great. And the food was top notch, my daughter only likes the eggplant Parmesan from here. Came here for grandma's 86th. The house cocktails are delicious, the service was friendly and receptive and they brought her a candle-lit dessert which made her smile. We are from Seattle so I admit I can be a bit snobby about Italian food- we typically get take out from Zesta when we are in town due to the pandemic. This was first time we had sat in. There were ten of us, including our six year old daughter and the staff were so kind to her and accommodated her by bringing her coloring. I had the tenderloin medallions, asparagus and mashed garlic taters. My steak was cooked to perfection. The parmesan-encrusted halibut was incredible as well with a great sauce that went with the risotto. For my daughter (whose dinner was $7), husband, myself and my grandma who we paid for, our portion of the bill was $218 which included gratuity. I can't say the price makes sense for Yakima overall but I do understand this is one of the main fine dining establishments in the city so I could understand. read more

Our reservation was for 7pm my wife wanted to try out the Raviolis unfortunately they had sold out however the waitress was able to adjust the tortallini dish to include all the same toppings as the ravioli dish, only difference between the two dishes was the noodles used. However my wife loved the accommodation. I as well got the tortellini but with pesto which was very tasty. Tortellini was a big portion of food I was unable to finish it and took it home in a box. My wife then got the torta for dessert and loved the taste. (I will say it was a fairly small portion) The restaurant had fantastic ambiance the lighting was very stunning to look at while we ate our dinner. Spent $97.00 also had (2) beers and a glass of red wine. Tip total was about $20- bringing our grand total to around $120 for a dinner for two. read more

The reservation process was super easy and kept to the exact time, no waiting although the restaurant itself had tons of things to look at. We were here to celebrate our birthday, I was desiring amazing pasta. We were blown away by not only the politeness and quickness of the whole night but by the whole experience of our meal and its flavors. Our drink order was quickly taken and delivered. Followed by food and ultimately dessert. The food we got was on the specials for July, but sounded too good to pass up. If you see the images you'll likely agree. This place amazed us with how precise and effortless it seemed to run us through dinner. Some tables were there taking their time, and chatting a lot longer between courses, but we liked this style. We never felt like we were searching for our waitress because she was always a few steps ahead of us and anticipated our needs. I believe her name was Ruthie and we had a great night celebrating, she was happy to be there and brought a candle out for a silent happy birthday which we wanted on an amazing Tiramisu which was delicious, well balanced and sized large enough it felt worth the price. read more

This Italian restaurant is Yakima's gem. The place is very festive with very gracious staff. My water glass was always filled and everyone working there was friendly. I was able to have their chicken tacos, brussel sprouts, stuffed mushrooms, & the salmon. I enjoyed each and everyone of them throroughly. Zesta was so accommodating that they switched our reservation and easily fit us in. I am the only female in an all male work crew and this was the perfect place for all of us. The food was amazing! And the atmosphere was so warm and inviting. Our service staff was so kind she went above and beyond and we were so grateful that she was there. I love the restaurants decorations. Our waitress was so sweet. The halibut was done well and tasty. I would have given 5 stars but the peach crème brûlée was HORRIBLE!!!! I paid $12 for a hollowed out peach with maybe 4 spoonfuls of custard inside. The peach does not go well with how sweet the custard is. They need to take it off the menu and do a brûlée that actually has some custard in it. read more
