We had already agreed together two years ago would not do one because the risks far outweighed any benefit. Unfortunately I let another persons story influence me and scheduled one without telling her even though we have an agreement to not go through with medical procedures unless we are both in agreement. I told her the evening before and disregarded her pleas to reconsider. At the appointment the staff assured her it was "perfectly safe" which indicates zero risks and they told her it would only be 15 minutes and they would get her immediately after to be with me. Not only did the staff lie about how long it would be, they refused to allow her to be with me. They denied her requests to be brought to me right after. When I finally saw her, she was in a wheelchair and I learned that she had a massive panic attack to which the staff did nothing to assist her. Upon returning home I investigated what my wife was trying to tell me and saw that I was not given true informed consent as a lot of information needed to make a decision was withheld. I feel this to be very dishonest of a medical facility. They were very unkind and are not respectful of any family you have. I definitely would not recommend them, nor do I recommend ever getting a colonoscopy without fully doing your research instead of taking a doctor's word for it. It's been two weeks and we are still dealing with the aftermath of her panic attack. "Dr" Harris and his staff should be ashamed of themselves.
