The people at Valley Vision Center were really great to work with. They were all (and I think I did speak with ALL of them at one time or another during my multiple visits) helpful and friendly. They kept several pairs of frames I was interested in tucked away for me while I was trying to decide which one I liked the best, and they all helped give me their opinions on which pair looked best on me when I asked. No one ever rushed me, and there always seemed to be enough employees present to answer my questions. I also thought they had a great selection of frames, and they were willing to order in a frame in a different color if I wanted to see it. I've been seeing Dr McKenzie at Valley Vision for about 6 years and he is the best! I'm chronically ill so there's a lot of factors to take into consideration when treating me. Dr McKenzie has an eagle eye and can spot the slightest changes in my eye scans. He's given me great feedback to share with my other doctors to improve my overall health, and has worked with an ophthalmologist on my behalf for further treatment. read more

I had paid out of pocket for Kate spade glasses and paid little over 300$ and when I was trying to get them the first time , there a white women with short cut blonde hair that looks like "Karen" had me go sit down and told me to wait in this chair, and then 3 other customers came in and they helped assist them first before me when I was there first..I noticed this happens a lot and it always a women or man of "color".Also when I went back (cuz I ended up leaving cuz I sat there for 30 minutes or longer and walked out before causing a scene) my mother was upset cuz she was my ride and had Dr. appts. But when I came back the lady had literally moved them to whole different area to hide them from me and they're supposed to be in the "Kate spade" section. I looked everywhere for them and found them hidden with Generic brand ..I bought them and once the ordered came in the same "Karen" went to grab them for me and when she gave them to me she gave me glasses case that's was generic brand plain black..I showed my mother who also bought "Kate spade" glasses there Was livid! She said why the hell did they give u that CHEAP case! It supposed to come with a PINK Kate spade case! I told her I felt like the lady was racist and tryna rip me off to be mean cuz it bothered her to see Mexican young girl pay out of pocket since I've always been on Medicaid.... I told my mother to go in there cuz I was not about to flip out and go to jail. Cuz they were already being rude to me and the "Karen" and some other women with long black hair and black glasses were making fun of me cuz I had a crop top that was black mesh see through and it was HOT let me remind you it was Summer!!! And they were laughing and joking about how "who wears something like that I mean if you are going to Las Vegas then yeah I can understand " which I was on my way to a vacation in Arizona and heading out on the road! Which is none of their business .! The old guy that does the exams is complete weirdo and he's inappropriate and he will not examine your eyes right so do not trust them especially when your a person that's Mexican/Black. My mother has spend over 1,000$ on 3 Different pair of glasses and we pay our hard working money for them and don't deserve to get treated that way so I will definitely look into somewhere else and to buy my contacts.. read more

I hope I never have to return here Dr. MacKenzie is great, but over the 8 years I have been coming here, the service of the other staff has been inappropriately discourteous. No social distancing, overcrowded. They let us sit there waiting to be checked in for 15 minutes, then said we were late. When I ordered new sunglasses, the guy who placed my order did not claim my frames through my insurance, so I was forced to pay the entire cost out of pocket when I picked them up due to his error. Insurance would not cover it after the order. No offer to try to help me or reimburse me in any way, even though they admitted it was their mistake. Do not trust them to have your best interest in mind. I lost $150 dollars for this and didn't even get an apology. Take your business somewhere else. read more

I went to Valley Vision Center for the first time as my insurance directed me there. I hadn't thought about it, but they certainly were closer to work. From the moment I arrived I was made comfortable with the friendly staff. The wait was minimal. Dr. Tull was great. Very thorough and personable. The optometry tech (sorry, forgot his name), was very good as well. Easily got me through all the eye stations swiftly and totally prepared for the optometrist. Very satisfied. read more

Had a great experience here. Everyone was friendly. Optometrist took his time and was thorough during the exam, answering any questions I had. Because I wanted to keep my current (expensive, beloved) frames, they actually measured my lenses and gave me back my glasses immediately so that I could have them while I wanted the couple of weeks for my new lenses to arrive. That was awesome! I do have contacts that I could have used in the meantime, but I prefer to use my glasses for my computer oriented job. No pressure to buy anything from them. Short wait times. They have iPads that you can check in on and use Apple iMacs for everything, which I was surprised and impressed by. Definitely would recommend coming here for eye exams, etc. Oh, and they have Oakley, Wiley, Ray-Ban and some other name brand stuff, which is more than I can say for my old eye doctor's office. It isn't an enormous selection of fantastic high end frames (like Europtics in Denver), but I was still surprised and pleased to see a decent collection of name brand stuff on the shelves. I also like that they simply texted me when my lenses had arrived and told me the hours I could come in and get them put into my frames. They also explained and handled billing the visit to my insurance and answered questions about that, which is nice. The only weird thing is their phone system. It goes into some strange pre-recorded thing that doesn't at all sound like it's for customers, but if you wait long enough, a pleasant person at the front desk of the store will answer. read more

I've been going to Valley Vision for eyewear, contacts and exams for more than ten years. Staff is super helpful and Dr. McKenzie is excellent. I've had the best prescriptions for both glasses and contacts from him that I'd had in 20 years. They have a good selection of frames too. Great location! Dr. McKenzie also helped my mom when she had an emergency eye problem when visiting from out of town. He explains everything very clearly and is very thorough. read more

My exam went well and gal that assisted me with ordering glasses was great. But....when I went to pick up my glasses I was first one in the door. A guy with a beard told me to have a seat. He then proceeded to direct three other customers (that arrived after me) to be helped with ordering glasses or contacts, making me wait. My time is valuable, and I don't appreciate being treated that way after spending a considerable amount of money there. I will no longer recommend this establishment to others. read more

My eye exam with one of their doctors was just fine, however, when I ordered glasses (for a hefty $330 for generic/off-brand frames and lenses) I was sorely disappointed with the experience that followed. I ordered them on a Thursday and was told then that they would be in early the following week. I even commented at that time that that was quick, and was told they use a local lab and it just doesn't take long. WELL! Two weeks later I haven't heard a peep so I call to follow-up and am told the lab has had several problems with the lenses and it will be yet another week before they're in. A week later they leave me a voicemail letting me know that there have been even more problems at the lab and it will be another week "or so" until they're expected in the store. (In case you're counting, that puts us at a full month past the day the order was placed.) It was here that I put a stop to this ridiculousness, canceled the order, and asked for a refund. I didn't receive as much as an apology until the point at which I was canceling the order either. I've worn glasses for 23 years and have never waited longer than 10-12 days for glasses to come in. I don't know what kind of "professional" lab Valley Vision uses, but being a local, small business I expect better service, especially when Wal-Mart offers the same level of service for half (perhaps even less than half) the price. read more

Dr Bethka is the best. Been seeing him for years. I have to have special care taken with peripheral vision due to a medication I take for arthritis. In years past, it is an extended test there in the office rather than the shorter version. Has worked fine all these years. Evidently the sister store now has a new machine that is more extensive for this test. So now my exam is over, (just the other day) and I am to make an appt. to go to the sister store for the test we've been doing for years just fine in THIS office. So I ask.. is that part of this visit then?? Cuz the problem is that if the other store is not an extension of THIS visit I will have to pay a second co pay. Of course none of this occurred to me till checkout. Why should I have to do that when the old test has worked fine for years? The fact that no one called or verified or even tried to ask that the visit to the sister store was an extension of my already paid exam is just sad. Or hey..you 're here...lets just do the OLD test for this year and suggest that I make my appts at the other store going forward, cuz they have the new machine. But no. Nope. The checkout girls led me to believe it was indeed going to be handled, but I had a gut feeling it was not. So I called the sister store and was told it would cost me an additional out of pocket. Anyhoo. Just.. sad. Sad and dissappointed. read more

I would not recommend this place. After paying over $200 for with generic frames they came in about a week later like they said they would. At the time I had my contacts in so I tried my glasses on once I got home but I could not see out of them. They were blurry and I was seeing double of everything. I took them back in and the lady that helped me said I don't know how this happened but you have the wrong prescription in the wrong measurements. So they sent them back in after about another week I got them back. After wearing for a day or two I took them back in to get adjusted because they were sliding down my nose. The lady that was adjusting my glasses brought them back to me and said I'm so sorry but we need to send them out again once more because they chip the lenses while they were trying to adjust my glasses. So I'm hoping after sending them out three times and almost a month later I will have glasses that actually work. read more
