Such a charming and well-kept hotel. Everything felt cozy, thoughtfully designed, and extremely clean. The bathroom was surprisingly spacious, and having a fireplace in the room made the stay feel extra special. You can really tell how much care and attention goes into maintaining this place. The staff were beyond friendly--honestly some of the nicest people we've met while traveling. Breakfast was one of the best I've had in a long time: simple, fresh, and perfectly done. We came during the off-season, so it was pretty quiet, but that actually made the experience even better. It felt almost like having the whole place to ourselves, which was really relaxing. On Monday night we got small plates on patio so our dog could be with us. We had duck lo main and Elote corn fritters. Delicious. Our room was lovely. We didn't use the fireplace. It was spacious and comfortable. There was a grassy lawn where our dog could do his thing. I believe they had bags. I had my own. There was a convenient trash can. This hotel feels like a second home for us. My sister and I have stayed there twice within the last 9 months, and, in our exploration of the area, have found this to be most convenient and central to all the places we wanted to visit, including but not limited to: Moab, Bryce Canyon, Horseshoe Bend, Monument Valley, Lake Powell/Antelope Canyon, and Zion. It offers dog-friendly accommodations, and this property has honestly been a dream for both of our dogs and us. From the well-manicured, clean grassy patches for easy and quick doggie relief, to the professional but familial treatment from the staff, to the delicious meals served at its in-house restaurant, the Canyons Boutique really made us feel appreciated. There is really something to be said about feeling as though we are being pampered by people who actually like us, are good at what they do, and are happy to be there. We felt that quality and energy consistently during both of our stays. They even left us a card to welcome us back this past stay. The property also stocks beach cruisers out front for guest use as well as pool towels that we took with us to Lake Powell. In the lobby there is also a business center/desktop computer and pamphlets describing and directing new (and repeat) tourists to tours of all skill levels and interests. But all of the above would mean little without Travis, the ever helpful, social, and remarkable human that makes this place a home. He helped us choose and navigate some local hikes using drawn out maps and foolproof directions. Encountering him again during our second stay was like seeing an old friend. This hotel and its staff lends an aura of familiarity that most other boutique hotels strive to capture but just cannot achieve. **The COVID-friendly conveniences of outdoor sinks, hand soap, paper towels, and trash cans out front, as well as socially-distanced dining, indoor and outdoor, seem to be a well-oiled machine in how smoothly everything ran. All staff wore masks. Breakfast was made-to-order for morning pickup to eat in your room or on the go. Extra bedsheets were supplied at check in, and housekeeping upon request. We didn't need housekeeping, but we left our trash can in front of our door when we left in the morning, and by our return a few hours later, it had been switched out for a new one. ABSOLUTELY RECOMMEND to anyone thinking of exploring the area and seeking accommodation. read more

This was a great hotel I would recommend to others going to Kanab. The room I had was very spacious, 201. Service was fantastic, very quick and kind. I needed to print something for my work and they easily and graciously helped. Continental breakfast is good and included with your stay. The temperature is easily controlled in the winter. Bikes are available, free of charge, to guests. The hotel is at the northern end of town and I found it easy to walk everywhere, especially in winter when the town was very quiet. The hotel may technically be in a historic building, but there have been many additions and modifications to the exterior so it's hard to tell if that's actually true. read more

Before we came here I was already so Excited to go to this hotel! My husband didn't know how excited I have Been for our trip And to see kanab. It was my birthday weekend and when we arrived we were already late for check in which is 10pm. I called beforehand and they said they usually Leave the keys there (which is no problem as kanab is such a small quiet town... super safe!) but I was shocked to see that there was still someone there to check us in. The exterior of the hotel was cute (and mind you this was night time! During day time it was so much nicer!) stairs led to our room and it was big! Bed was big! I requested a jacuzzi tub! This place is so cute!!!! My husband agreed with me. The breakfast was good! Sausage was amazing! It wasn't a lot but for Complimentary breakfast how can you complain????? The view was amazing! Perfect Spot since it's only About 40mins from Zion. An hour and half to Two hours to Bryce and an hour or so To antelope canyon! It's the perfect spot!!!! I'll be back kanab!! You can count on it!!! I stayed at this hotel for several nights this month. The first night was just a crash pad, but I was really impressed with their customer service and attention to detail. About a week after my backpacking trip I returned, stayed three nights, and felt very comfy. We ended up staying there again last night, as it was late after our hike and we decided we didn't want to get on the road yet. What I loved: *Room 211 was spacious and had a luxurious vibe. A little dining table, lots of room to spread out, and a huge king bed. *Breakfasts were super hearty! Choose hot or cold, and it's ready at the time you specify, for take out. I have food allergies (dairy), and they were AWESOME about accommodating me. Huge breakfast burritos, some days were classic hot breakfasts, one was a French toast morning (plus sides), one was biscuits and gravy (plus sides). Cold breakfast was a bagel with cream cheese, fruit, yogurt with granola, and I think something else. Plus coffee, tea, and juice! *Cozy, soft, cushy robes! *Sego is onsite and a tasty, easy, classy evening dining option. *Super quiet at night. *Really friendly, helpful staff. *Clean. *Crazy affordable for how upscale the place is. *Fridge in the room (just wish it had a freezer for my ice packs!) A few nit picky things: *The mattress was a bit firm for me, in both rooms that I stayed in. But they give lots of pillows, so I was able to get pretty comfy. *Room 110 was a bit tired compared to the 211 suite. No biggie, but it was interesting to see the difference. It was a crash pad for us for just one night, so we didn't really care. It was also a lot smaller, and without the dining table. (211 spoiled me, haha.) *Breakfast take out ware was single use plastic...only mentioning because I saw compostable cups in the lobby and Sego uses eco friendly stuff. For the most part I loved this inn. It lives up to its' name for sure! The furniture inside the room was very Victorian and some rooms even have a real fireplace. How awesome is that! Room: Each bed is big and has 4 pillows allowing for comfort. There were coat hangers on the wall and the wardrobe had clothes hangers for people to use. Only problem I had with the room was that there was some hairs in our bathtub and the shower looked gross to step in. I didn't want to take a shower in there without flip flops... The tiles looked old and it looked like I was at a public shower to be honest. Breakfast: Not your usual continental breakfast. I think they serve different items depending on the day but the day I went, they had your usual cereal, fruit, toast and muffins but they also had scrambled eggs, sausage and ham. I wish they had a waffle maker though. Who doesn't love waffles in the morning? The dining room is very pretty and well-kept. During breakfast, there's a guy who specifically makes sure everything is stocked and in order. He wipes the tables down as well leaving it clean for the next party. read more

After a long day of exploring Zion, we were ready for nice beds at our hotel. When we first drove to Canyons Boutique Hotel, it was enchanting. It had lights lit up and the structure of the hotel was quaint. Checking in, I noted my name but the lady had a hard time finding it and turns out instead of booking the room for 12/24/17, I booked it for 12/24/18.. I was so nervous that they wouldn't have any rooms and it would be a large headache to deal with but the staff at the front was so calming. She assured us she had rooms and then went on to honor the price we booked it at rather than the nightly price which was higher. She then shared recommendations of restaurants to eat at since it was Christmas Eve and most restaurants in the town were closed. The rooms were quite spacious and clean. Each room is equipped with a fridge as well. Parking is easy as there is ample parking in the back. They served a hot breakfast consisting of eggs, bread pudding with buttermilk, sausage, bacon, and potatoes! They also had a selection of cereal, breads, and juices. All in all, the stay was great. First time staying here and without a doubt will be back. They share the facilities with their "sister" properties...breakfast area. The special part of our stay was the staff! While the rooms were clean and well equipped, the staff is really what made this a special stay. The previous guest changed the tv cable connections so the tv didn't work. The front seat gal came up to the room that evening and fixed it on the spot. We stayed 2 of our 3 nights because truck issues required a trip to Vegas to fix. I didn't expect a comp and quit frankly didn't even want one. This is a great place to stay. Even the gal at checkout apologized for not being able to refund the last night but it wasn't the hotels fault. Everyone I encountered was very personable in a positive, not overwhelming manner. The absolute only 2 things I would suggest is add a bath mat for outside the shower. Me and my 8yo son slide around the floor after showering. We got the king room with soaking tub, though we didn't use tub. And, add an a la cart breakfast.... Next time I will bring my wife and daughter and go for the 3rd floor "suite". read more

UPDATE TO REVIEW BELOW: Upon checking out the gentleman at the desk was wearing a mask so I thanked him. It turns out he is the Lodging Director for Grapeleaf Hospitality and the Canyons Collection, Travis Mitchell. He had heard of my concerns and they had already changed hotel policy to only clean rooms when requested and planned to make sure ALL staff wears masks. He was kind, courteous and responsive. I can't say enough good things about him and have now upped my review from 2 stars to 4. I can't give it 5 yet because of my experience but would consider returning someday and expect that I could give them a 5 star review then. FIRST REVIEW: This was my first trip in 4 months because of COVID. I researched hotels carefully to make sure they were following good precautions re COVID. Walking in there was a touchless hand cleaning station outside the front door and plexiglass shield at the front desk. Good sign. But when I rang the bell at the front desk (no one there) a woman came out with no mask. She also came from behind the shield with no mask and I saw her going in and out of the kitchen with no mask. It is a very small place with a small common area so very little room for dispersement of air particles. We spent no time there and always wore our masks while walking through so weren't too concerned but thought it inconsiderate for her not to wear one. There was no Do Not Disturb sign for the room so assumed (should not have done that) that they were like other hotels that just don't clean your room during your stay because of COVID. The next day, we left for a short time and came back to find our room had been cleaned and our things had obviously been moved since we hadn't expected anyone to come in. I went to the front desk and rang the bell but no one showed. I found two women cleaning several rooms WITH NO MASKS! I asked for a Do Not Disturb sign but asked why they weren't wearing masks. They said they only wear a mask when stripping the room. Really? They were walking in and out of three other rooms with no masks on, so have to assume they did the same in mine. They said they wear a mask at the front desk. Nope! Not anytime in two days that the woman was at the front desk did she have a mask on. My daughter had a migraine so we couldn't leave the room. I tried opening the only window to get some air flow, which reduces COVID risk, but there are stops that prevent it from being opened more than a few inches. During any other time I might have given this hotel a higher rating but we spent our whole visit anxious because of the lack of consideration for the health and lives of the guests by the staff. read more

I want to begin this review by saying this place deserves 4-5 stars but we got unlucky with the room we received and ended up directly above the kitchen & restaurant. Let's start with the good stuff - It's very charming Affordable Great customer service Jacuzzi tubs! Restaurant on premises Plenty of parking Clean Complimentary breakfast (delicious) Beautiful mountain views in all directions And then the special & very sweet touches like, complimentary lemon water (real sliced lemons) & complimentary bikes to ride around the adorable little town. Loved this! When we arrived we immediately took advantage of the bikes and went off to explore. When we got back and went up to our room to get ready for dinner we were really surprised at the noise level. Being directly over the kitchen & restaurant we listened to pretty much everything. Blenders, pots & pans, whatever other equipment was being used and everyone in the restaurant. It was bad. With all this we decided to leave for dinner. When we arrived later the noise level was still high & also noticed the super fishy aromas from the kitchen. Being nearly 11pm the noise sucked. Eventually everyone left & the noise stopped but it was well after midnight. Usually I don't sleep but I was hoping for some good rest before a day of hiking. If you stay here I highly recommend you ask to be on the opposite side of the restaurant. If you don't mind noise then you'll be just fine all around. read more

We stayed at Canyons Boutique Hotel in Kanab, Utah for two nights recently. We were in town to tour Best Friends Animal Society. Canyons Boutique is a fabulous little hotel in a very small town. We didn't know what to expect because we had never been in this area, and the only other hotels we saw online were big mediocre hotel chains. Most of the reviews on this hotel are pretty good, so we thought we'd give it a try. We weren't disappointed! We really enjoyed our king size bed hotel room. It was a fairly small room, but was very clean and decorated nicely. The bed was very comfortable. You also got free Wi-Fi and a very small refrigerator to store things. The room didn't seem outdated or beaten up. Everything was clean and well-maintained. However, I will say the bathroom was very small. The continental breakfast that comes with your room stay was just ok. It had yogurt, one piece of fruit choice, and granola. For the hot breakfast it had scrambled eggs, potatoes, sausage, and quirky things like bread pudding or chicken fingers. Oh yeah, It had the usual fare of hot coffee, teas, and breakfast cereals. The staff that I dealt with was very pleasant and helpful when checking in and discussing restaurant places to eat. The hotel got our reservation wrong, gave us an accessibility King Suite, directed us down remote parking with a ramp, go to find out our room #101 was 10 feet from the check-in desk!!! Lol! Wanted to eat dinner at "Sego." The Host said they were busy, would be 15 min. 45 min later we asked? I had brought my girlfriend for a stay at the Canyons Lodge across the way for her birthday. We had most of our plans fall through due to COVID. Travis absolutely rescued our trip. We enjoyed our stay at Canyons Lodge so much that we decided to extend our stay at Canyons Boutique. Both properties are fantastic and Canyons Boutique adds that little luxury flair. Travis' personal care and customer service are meticulous. He never once seemed bothered by a call or a question. Every staff member I interacted with operated with the same sense of pride and professionalism. Canyons Boutique creates a cozy yet modern experience that we absolutely will be returning to in the future. Beautiful hotel and rooms! My fiancé and I stayed here for one night during our travels and we wish we would have stayed longer. When we first arrived, we had a hard time finding where to check in so I called the front desk and the woman actually walked outside to help me find her which was nice. The bed and shower in our room were huge! We really enjoyed the hot tub/ bath in the room that had jets but it was very small for two people. Perfect for one person. The AC unit worked VERY well. There was a mini fridge and a tiny little coffee maker with complementary coffee (including decaf). They also offered complementary breakfast which you could bring up to your room (instead of a buffet style) because of Covid. My reason for 4 stars is that the fireplace didn't work (although we didn't ask the front desk about it. Maybe we were using it wrong?) and the walls are SO thin. We were sadly kept up all night by our extremely noisy and rude neighbors who sounded like they were moving furniture and blasting the tv all night long. read more

Huge rooms! We had three ginormous beds and one was even in a separate nook. Hot breakfast was better than I expected and I definitely had too much. Waffle maker and lots o' yogurt! Hotel staff was very nice and totally okay with us being punks and spilling ice/water all over the floor in an attempt to jazz up our Camelbaks before a big Zion hike. I am the coordinator for an event we had out here in Kananb/ Grand Canyon and I chose for us to stay at this hotel (as well as the lodge and quail park) for the nights we had our event. Not only is the hotel so charming and hip, it also has amazing staff that were above and beyond accommodating! They have helped us so much and have been so kind. The hotel manager, Travis, was so gracious and helped us plan our stay there with ease. The included hot breakfast was amazing, and better than any included hotel breakfast I've ever had. This hotel is a mixed bag. Nice staff. Good service. But the part that's most important to me was lacking. The comfort of the bed and bath. The bathroom is circa 1970 with old tile and dirty grout. The bed was very uncomfortable. I kept waking up all night with pain from pressure points. The sheets are thin and cheap. I hope the management reads this and takes note that modern hotels have better mattresses and sheets. Not a hard fix. read more

Let me say right up front that my stay was good and the off-season price was terrific. The reason I'm only giving the hotel 2 stars is because of what happened afterwards! I ended up leaving a part to an AC adapter. I called and was told that they had it and they would ship it off within the week. Great! After a couple of weeks I began to wonder what had happened to it. I called again and was told that it had been shipped. To make a long story short, after 3-4 emails and as many phone calls, and over a month later, I was told that there was a misunderstanding and they had never found it! I got an apology but that was all. I would have appreciated something more than that. Everyone makes the occasional mistake. My fiancee and I had a last minute change of plans and needed a hotel on short notice so we stopped in here with fingers crossed and are so thankful we did! The front desk gentleman was exceptionally kind and helped us reserve the queen room with a spa tub. We arrived a bit late and were starved after a day of hiking at Zion, but he made arrangements for us to get a table at the restaurant in the downstairs of the hotel and I am so happy he did!! The dining area is super cool, very swanky feeling but also welcoming. The dishes are tapas style and meant to be shared which I am a huge fan of being I can never seem to pick just one thing off the menu.We tried the avocado item, asparagus, brie and one more item I don't recall the name of. Each item was unique and delicious! Our waitress was spectacular. The rooms and decor are so neat! You can tell a lot of thought went into the design as there were so many subtle details I really appreciated, especially the textured ceilings. The bath tub was incredible and just what I needed to soak my muscles after a long day of hiking. There were really soft robes to put on and I sat in front of the fire place for a bit. I didn't see the other rooms, but I can say this one was wonderful and very romantic. The only negatives were that I couldn't find any bubble bath which would have been handy to have and my one major item was that I found the bed rather uncomfortable. I prefer a softer mattress and this was a bit boxy and too firm for my taste. My fiancee said he slept great, so perhaps it was just me. The hotel also featured a lovely patio area and complimentary bicycles to check out the Kanab. Complimentary breakfast is available from 7-10 AM and was very tasty! The best breakfast I have had at a hotel, by far. The staff were all very friendly and helpful with any questions we had. My husband and I were amazed by Canyons. Usually when getting a hotel at a good price you expect the same-ole-same ole but not Canyons. Amazing personable service, breakfast included that was waaaaay better than average, clean rooms, and a beautiful boutique ascetic. Also - the restaurant - WOW. Thanks Canyons.
