It is located right along the Banana River between Port Canaveral and Ron Jon's. The entire property is well-kept and manicured. It features a nice paved walking and jogging path for a workout or a peaceful stroll. Between the walking path and the river there is a covered walkway with pavilions that stretch along the water's edge. While manatee sightings can be hit or miss, the general peace and the chance to spot other creatures like dolphins and wading birds make a trip to this location worthwhile. Right off the parking lot, a fun detail that adds character to the park is the very nice statue of turtles. Taller than an average person. The park provides a good size parking lot that can comfortably fit about 25 cars, which is a huge plus, ensuring easy access even during slightly busier times. While the park does have bathrooms, they were unfortunately not the cleanest on the day of my visit. OVerall, Manatee Sanctuary Park is a nice place for visitors looking for beautiful scenery, and excellent paths for exercise. I highly recommend it for anyone looking for a quiet, relaxing outdoor escape.

We absolutely do not recommend this excursion to anyone considering it. After a 25-minute boat ride from the port, we arrived at the island and were given wristbands and the scheduled time for our shark encounter. While waiting, we explored and observed the open dolphin and sea lion areas, which were the only highlight of the trip. When it was time for the shark encounter, we were led to a secluded area that is supposedly reserved for this excursion. A group was already in the water interacting with a shark -- holding it, posing for individual and group photos, and getting what looked like a full experience. We were told to enter the water and wait for our turn. Despite the cold water, we were excited and ready. Then everything changed. After the first group finished, the instructor -- who was visibly tired -- abruptly ended the proper interaction experience. He got out of the water, sat on the stairs, and told us he wouldn't be doing the same with our group. Instead, each person was rushed through a 30-second photo opportunity from the stairs. There was no explanation about the sharks, no actual interaction, and we were explicitly told not to touch or engage with them beyond a quick photo pose. That was it. This was not a real animal encounter. It was a bait-and-switch photo op disguised as an excursion. It felt completely disorganized and dismissive. We expressed our concerns to both a supervisor and a manager on the island, who acknowledged that our group did not receive the standard experience. They told us to follow up with the excursion desk onboard, which we did. This entire experience felt like false advertising and extremely poor customer service. We paid for an immersive shark interaction and got a rushed photo opportunity instead. It's unacceptable, especially given the premium cost and the high expectations set by Royal Caribbean and Blue Lagoon Island. Save your money. This was one of the biggest disappointments of our trip.

We must have wasted at least an hour waiting before we even began the boat trip to the island. On the boat, someone fell down ill right by the Captains house. He just looked through the window at the person, including all the bosun that were there in the immediate area. Finally someone came from the back of the boat to render aid, but that took way too long and showed lack of any urgency by the staff in the immediate area of this person. We enjoyed doing the dolphin encounter, but the trainer seemed annoyed the entire time. There was no exciting engagement, just someone who wanted to give you the bare minimum. Photography of the encounter felt rushed. 20 photos and a video or two later, they wanted an absurd $130. Staff on the island just seemed distant and on their phones or talking with each other, not interested in engaging with any of us. On the way back, the boat his some choppiness on the water. People seated on the sides and front of the boat were getting soaked by sea water. Rather than the staff lower the windows and securing the front screen, they all hung out in the rear of the boat on their phones. The captain laughed. No desire to make our already crowded boat ride comfortable. Then they all split some loose money bills and stood holding the cash as we exited the boat looking for tips.

We saw it all, alligators, manatees, dolphins with their babies!! Every bird you can imagine, turtles, snakes just everything out there. We also got some great views of some incredible homes and local architecture along the water which was really neat. Our captains Andrew and Pat were very knowledgeable and professional! We learned so much. The real highlight of the day was that as we were due to dock Andrew let us know that there was about to be a spaceX launch and if everyone agreed we could extend the ride a bit so we could all watch it. To our delight everyone did. My husband came down here 30 years ago at the age of 10 to see a launch that ended up getting scrubbed so for him to see his first ever real launch on our 19th anniversary was pure magic! It brought tears to both our eyes and I will forever be grateful to them for giving us that experience. Fantastic memories made and worth every penny and more! Also want to note that the boats bathroom was very clean and easy to use. They provided beverages both adult and regular refreshments. The shade kept us pretty cool but I do recommend bringing "chilly towels" and a hand fan if it's over 90 degrees. We will absolutely be returning with our kiddos on our next trip to take them as well.
