Walking and biking paths Kids playground Boardwalk Right on the water Near port canaveral and cruise ship terminals A calm place to spend a couple of hours with a small group. Bring some food, enjoy the sound of the water and the scenery.

Looking for a quick stop to burn a little time before you go to the cruise port? Then this spot is for you. This little park has great views of local wildlife like birds, turtles, and the occasional lizard. There is also a nice walking trail that takes you around the whole perimeter. If the kids need to burn some energy, there is a playground and a picnic pavilion to rest in the shade. Parking is numerous and free of charge. Once you're ready to leave for your cruise, the terminals are a quick 5-10 minute drive away.

It's a pretty park. No manatees at the time. You can't predict nature. The park is also getting a few upgrades.

Manatee Sanctuary Park is pristine and beautiful and peaceful. We saw so much fun wildlife here. Pelicans diving for fish, great white egrets, and dolphins lazily swimming through the water. There is a fun balcony where you can sit on the benches and take it all in or you can walk on the paved trail around the park. They also have a fenced in playground area for the kids with three different kinds of swings including one for mommy and baby. They have public restrooms available. Just don't go to near the water because there might be alligators or snakes in the area. Perfect spot to eat your lunch and look out onto the water and relax. Free public parking right in front of the park. The playground is also wheelchair accessible.

The Manatee Sanctuary Park is one of the most beautiful parks that I have visited. It's ten acres along the Banana River and beautifully maintained. It's open at 7 an to dusk and leashed dogs are welcome. Manatees are often seen feeding along the water but during my visit I only saw turtles. There are lots of turtles and when you arrive they come up to be fed. The park has exercise stations, covered playground and a pavilion that you can rent out. The bathrooms are clean and there is plenty of places to take a seat and enjoy the scenery.

Enjoy Manatee Sanctuary Park for a nice diversion from the Beach.

SMALL PARK OFFERS MANATEE SIGHTINGS...SOMETIMES If you are looking for an activity to fill an hour of your day, head over to Manatee Sanctuary Park. It is located along side of the Banana River. The warmer waters of the River draw Manatees to relax and lounge. During certain times of the year, you will be able to walk the board walk spotting the frolicking Manatees. Unfortunately, we didn't see any Manatees the day we visited :( There is a walking path which surrounds the circumference of the Park with low resistance exercise stations spaced at intervals. Per my son and his girlfriend: "to help old people like me". Bring your camera, there are some great places to take photos. The park is dog friendly, no admission fee and free parking.

I wish they had a changing table in the women's bathroom. There is a fenced in playground but it can be sunny. There are swings. A boardwalk along the water to view the river but no manatees.

After check-out at the hotel, prior to heading to the cruise terminal, there isn't very much to do in the area, so I discovered this park years ago. I initially thought that there were manatees there, give me a break though, I was young and that was my second cruise ever. I now think that the park is just dedicated to and named after the manatee. Since my prior visit years ago, the park has changed for the good. Now there is a newly paved walking trail and benches. There is still the long boardwalk along the water's edge, which I think is generally the drawing point to the park. I could even see the cruise ship off in the distance. Usually there are very few people there. This last time that I was there, for about 30 minutes and there were only 3 groups/families who stopped by.

What a great little Park! While the name might suggest that you have a high likelihood of seeing manatees, really the whole point is that the area is a Preserve. There is a lovely Boardwalk to look out over the water, entire place is well groomed and it is a very attractive Spot 2 have a picnic lunch. We had quite a bit of amusement watching the local wildlife, which included a ton of turtles in one of the ponds, various Birds, and more lizards than I have ever seen in a park. This was a great romantic spot for quiet contemplation of Florida's gorgeous weather and views.

A beautiful place to walk around and enjoy the scenery. We were hoping to see more wildlife but it could have just been the time of year.

It is basically the next little spot up the road on the same side of the river. The day I visited it was not busy and was clean. They've got a cute little dock on the north end where I stood when i visited and watched a couple manatees swimming within about 30 feet of the dock for easily a quarter of an hour. There's a big open soccer field up on the north end but just south of the little dock. It has actual goals if you ever feel like kicking a ball around. There is structure at the south end in front of the parking lot with bathrooms and a few tables that is open on 3 sides facing teh water and the park. It's a really nice park, but there's no real trail or long walkway along the water like at Manatee Sanctuary. It's more just grass, a few benches, and that dock. So if you're in the mood for a longer walk or that covered boardwalk vibe, stick with Manatee Sanctuary. But if you just wanna park, walk 30 seconds to the dock, and probably see manatees hanging out, Banana River Park is awesome for that. I'd hit both in the same morning!

There is one pavilion and a set of showers to rinse the sand off before getting back into your vehicle. This is about all of the amenities that you'll get here so anything you need you'll have to bring with you - chairs, umbrellas, a cooler full of snacks and water, sunscreen, etc. You won't find a lifeguard or probably too many tourists here either. The beach is just right through the sea grapes hedge and the beach is gorgeous! You never find any trash left on the beach and everyone picks up after themselves. People are able to surf out there. You can watch the huge cruise ships leave port from the campground. You can ride in a helicopter. There airplane tours. There is always a cool breeze by the temperature of the water and it always is a bit windy, which makes it very pleasant. We will continue to come here year after year as our 30+ camping partners will do and have done for many years. It's peaceful, no one is ever loud or disrespectful. The staff members are very helpful and nice. They have two new gift shops, fully stocked with things you might need. Grocery stores are nearby too. We had lunch at the campground. The food was good, just a bit dry. The deco is great too. And, we were lucky enough to watch an awesome launch of Elon's rockets going up! I'll load a few short videos if possible.
