A very nice park well kept where, if you are lucky, you can view some manatees. Manatee Sanctuary Park in Cape Canaveral, Florida, is a well-maintained park in the area for all to enjoy. It is located right along the Banana River between Port Canaveral and Ron Jon's. The entire property is well-kept and manicured. It features a nice paved walking and jogging path for a workout or a peaceful stroll. Between the walking path and the river there is a covered walkway with pavilions that stretch along the water's edge. While manatee sightings can be hit or miss, the general peace and the chance to spot other creatures like dolphins and wading birds make a trip to this location worthwhile. Right off the parking lot, a fun detail that adds character to the park is the very nice statue of turtles. Taller than an average person. The park provides a good size parking lot that can comfortably fit about 25 cars, which is a huge plus, ensuring easy access even during slightly busier times. While the park does have bathrooms, they were unfortunately not the cleanest on the day of my visit. OVerall, Manatee Sanctuary Park is a nice place for visitors looking for beautiful scenery, and excellent paths for exercise. I highly recommend it for anyone looking for a quiet, relaxing outdoor escape. read more

My husband and I were in the area and was looking for something to do. I had no idea that one could see manatees from land. We came across this park online. It was nice. A few lookout points, a playground, and a restroom. It wasn't manatee season so no manatees to be seen. We walked around a bit before heading out. It may be a good spot to make a brief stop before or after your cruise, especially if it's manatee season. read more

It is a quiet family friendly park. There is not a lot to do there but watching the birds, turtles and other water life was entertaining. There is also a small leave a book, take a book library. read more

Looking for a quick stop to burn a little time before you go to the cruise port? Then this spot is for you. This little park has great views of local wildlife like birds, turtles, and the occasional lizard. There is also a nice walking trail that takes you around the whole perimeter. If the kids need to burn some energy, there is a playground and a picnic pavilion to rest in the shade. Parking is numerous and free of charge. Once you're ready to leave for your cruise, the terminals are a quick 5-10 minute drive away. read more

Manatee Sanctuary Park is pristine and beautiful and peaceful. We saw so much fun wildlife here. Pelicans diving for fish, great white egrets, and dolphins lazily swimming through the water. There is a fun balcony where you can sit on the benches and take it all in or you can walk on the paved trail around the park. They also have a fenced in playground area for the kids with three different kinds of swings including one for mommy and baby. They have public restrooms available. Just don't go to near the water because there might be alligators or snakes in the area. Perfect spot to eat your lunch and look out onto the water and relax. Free public parking right in front of the park. The playground is also wheelchair accessible. read more

The Manatee Sanctuary Park is one of the most beautiful parks that I have visited. It's ten acres along the Banana River and beautifully maintained. It's open at 7 an to dusk and leashed dogs are welcome. Manatees are often seen feeding along the water but during my visit I only saw turtles. There are lots of turtles and when you arrive they come up to be fed. The park has exercise stations, covered playground and a pavilion that you can rent out. The bathrooms are clean and there is plenty of places to take a seat and enjoy the scenery. read more

The warmer waters of the River draw Manatees to relax and lounge. During certain times of the year, you will be able to walk the board walk spotting the frolicking Manatees. Unfortunately, we didn't see any Manatees the day we visited :( There is a walking path which surrounds the circumference of the Park with low resistance exercise stations spaced at intervals. Per my son and his girlfriend: "to help old people like me". Bring your camera, there are some great places to take photos. The park is dog friendly, no admission fee and free parking. read more

During our visit we stayed here for several hours while killing time before watching a spaceX rocket launch. The park is so peaceful, beautiful, and well equipped for relaxing on a bench in the sun or shade (or exercising). Also my older kids loved playing at the playground. It was perfectly situated so I could watch them from the boardwalk but not really hear them. We didn't see any manatees or dolphins, but I didn't mind. I wish we had a park just like this back home! read more

After check-out at the hotel, prior to heading to the cruise terminal, there isn't very much to do in the area, so I discovered this park years ago. I initially thought that there were manatees there, give me a break though, I was young and that was my second cruise ever. I now think that the park is just dedicated to and named after the manatee. Since my prior visit years ago, the park has changed for the good. Now there is a newly paved walking trail and benches. There is still the long boardwalk along the water's edge, which I think is generally the drawing point to the park. I could even see the cruise ship off in the distance. Usually there are very few people there. This last time that I was there, for about 30 minutes and there were only 3 groups/families who stopped by. read more

What a great little Park! While the name might suggest that you have a high likelihood of seeing manatees, really the whole point is that the area is a Preserve. There is a lovely Boardwalk to look out over the water, entire place is well groomed and it is a very attractive Spot 2 have a picnic lunch. We had quite a bit of amusement watching the local wildlife, which included a ton of turtles in one of the ponds, various Birds, and more lizards than I have ever seen in a park. This was a great romantic spot for quiet contemplation of Florida's gorgeous weather and views. read more

After arriving, we found a beautifully landscaped park with a walking trail, a boardwalk that featured a lot of shade, and some "fitness posts" that featured some very basic exercise tutorials. Came here to watch some manatees, because i read somewhere that this would be the place. When we first entered the parking lot i realized that this was not going to happen. It was empty so i didnt even have to prove my parking skills for my co-driver. We went into the park and found a sidewalk to stroll along. But there was to many bushes covering the water, and we thought that it would be appropriate to search for them in their natural environment....Then it appeared in front of us, the manatee that we had been waiting for! To pity it was only a statue... Okey..so this is neither a sanctuary nor a place to watch manatees. But its actually a pretty cozy park, but not a park you would cross the country for or even drive from Orlando to visit. Its a nice park to have right beside your house, if you would live here. Some folks told us we should go more north, but we had enough, we werent gonna search for more manatees this time. read more

Located behind Jungle Village along the waterfront, this cute little park has all the amenities locals and tourists alike might need. There's a covered pavilion, decently kept public restrooms, an exercise course circuit, lively sculptures and fountains, and a beautiful deck and seating which overlooks the river.
