I am so glad we opted to go with this shop for our adventures! On the first day we rented some bikes and they explained about all the bike paths and gave us a map! At first I thought we wouldn't follow the map However it really gives you a super nice, easy ride. We biked to Jetty park and stopped at a few places along the way. The second day we rented kayaks and joined a guided tour with Randy. I can't say enough good things about how lovely our experience was. Any stress just melted away! We saw some dolphins too! I highly recommend A1A Outdoors for your adventuring. What an incredible place, I walked in off the street looking for an E bike and they set me up with an indestructible quality bicycle. I just had it serviced and the mechanic is incredible . Looked them up on Yelp and man what a find! The young lady answering the phone, help us find Jetty Park. We were visiting and drove in from Orlando. Looking for beach umbrella and chairs to rent. A1A came through! We paid for parking and had our rentals within 30 minutes. We were in Cocoa Beach and was directed by (I believe it was Melanie) to go to Cape Canaveral's Jetty Park. Bottom Line: Support Your Local Small Business! These guys are great. It's looks tiny from outside but they pack a lot into the space. I lived here for about a year before I went in - I thought they were only rentals. I needed something for my bike so I stopped in to see if they carried any bike supplies. Now that I Know ...... I've had them put on a kickstand and a front basket. They've adjusted just about every part on my bike too. I also bought handles for my kayak and a kayak paddle. I'm tall and my kayak is wide so I needed a long paddle and they had it! I also got one of those waterproof cases for my phone so I can take it out while kayaking. Shay is wonderful and will try and get you anything for your bike or kayak that you need that they don't have. Dave and Dave are also super friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. In addition to the things you "need" for your bike - they've got super cute hats, T-Shirts, sunglasses and lots more Bottom Line: you need a repair on your bike or parts or just want something cute to show your outdoor spirit - stop in! read more

Eric was a really nice tour guide and really taught our tour group a lot. He really did care for us and when one of the group members fell into the water he was there to help him calm down. The tour is amazing and a little wet but that's the fun of it and the scenery was wonderful the mangroves and propágales were beautiful! read more

We just moved to the Orlando area from the NE so not having our beach gear yet and with Labor Day weekend here we decided to find a place to rent it all. A1A beach rental has it all- including some well earned Yelp 5-star reviews! Starting with great service, the 2 ladies that were there recommended a package that was great for us and we added a boogie board so our 9 yr old could try the waves. It all came on a convenient dolly that doubles as a table when you get to the beach. They suggested a couple of areas and off we went! They are open until 5 but the return time is 9pm and they give you great instructions either way. We were done by 3pm, returned the gear and were all set. We booked stand-up paddle boarding lessons with Mark. We had the best experience on the Banana River. There was worry about the winds making the water a little rougher than normal. It turned out fine, just a little more of a workout...but so much fun!! Mark was very supportive, encouraging and informative. We learned a lot about mangroves, horseshoe crabs and the variety of birds that nest in the area. Amazing experience!! read more

Very poor experience. I reserved beach equipment on a Monday night for Tuesday, was charged and then denied a refund when attempting to cancel the reservation early Tuesday morning due to a family illness. I couldn't find any mention of a cancellation policy on their website or over the phone when making the reservation, nor was I informed that I would be charged the full amount the night before. The staff was unwilling to reverse the charges for services/goods never rendered or received. We will be back in Cocoa Beach in the future, but will never use the shop again. read more

A1A made our beach trip so much easier! We only were at the beach for the day. They were highly rated which is why we chose them. The business was easy to find. We rented 2 chairs, an umbrella, beach toys and a cart for a great price. The staff helped us load everything. Afterwards I went in for a recommendation for which beach to visit. We were headed to an area that would likely be crowded with $20/day parking. Thry sent us in the opposite direction to a different beach that was perfect with free parking! The only downsides were, we should have had them set up the umbrella (which they will do), it would have been easier for us. And the beach toy bag didnt have a bucket ::gasp:: But we managed. It had plenty of items to hold water and multiple shovels, so the kids loved it! Thanks A1A! read more

At first this company seemed great. I ordered a stand-up paddle board for 48 hours and they delivered it to me. However, after attempting to use the paddle board three times in these two days, it was clear that the paddle board wasn't in the best condition. I've been paddle boarding in the Atlantic and Pacific before many times (including wavy waters) and rarely fall off the board. With the board I rented, I wasn't able to stand up once and even found it very difficult to maintain a kneeling position on the board when the water was calm. It's clear that there was an issue with the board, but when I spoke to an employee before returning it, she said that they couldn't offer any resolution besides a discount on a future order. She said that if I called them sooner; they might have been able to send a replacement, but since I only had it for two days, there wasn't much time for that and I don't feel like this was reasonable or feasible for a 48 hour rental. I know this business didn't intend to provide a dysfunctional paddle board, but I feel like they could have discounted my order by 20%, which still leaves them with most of what I paid. When I asked if it was possible to provide a 20% discount, they said no. Meanwhile they're offering $20 of $100 on Yelp, and since I didn't have any discount applied when I placed the order (which was $128), I would have been happy with a $20 refund. Personally, I probably won't rent from them again because I feel like they didn't provide any resolution, when they easily could have, and I feel as if I wasted my money here. Took a kayak tour today. We were a group of 13 paddlers. We weren't a lively group but the guide did her best to engage and entertain. She was was super knowledgeable. While we were scoping out manatee & dolphins, she jumped in and found a horseshoe crab and let us get up close with it. We did see 6 or 7 playful dolphins but only 1 or 2 manatee noses. The mangrove tunnel was very cool. Staff very friendly and welcoming! read more

This place was great! Came to town to do the Disney thing and wanted a day at the beach. Dialed up A1A and got chairs, umbrella, beach toys, and a carrier for it all at a reasonable price. Pick up and coordinating was a snap and they're conveniently located near great beaches. Pro tip for you out of towners doing Disney and want to head to cocoa beach: Pay the tolls!!! We rented bikes, surfboards and umbrellas for 3 days of multi-family fun on the beach. Delivery was prompt. The staff were super friendly and informative. The equipment was in good shape. And when we decided after our first delivery that we also needed umbrellas, they brought them all the way to the crosswalk for us. Having rented bikes and kayaks from A1A Beach Rentals & Outdoor Center for many years, while on vacation -- I have finally moved to Cape Canaveral, and the first thing I did was buy a bike NOT from A1A Beach Rentals (MISTAKE!!!). The tire was flat when I got it -- so thinking it may just be low -- I filled it at a gas station .... ten minutes later it was flat again. Not wanting to deal with the big-box retailer, for a return -- I called Shay at A1A to have the tube replaced -- she got me in quickly, and had her tech do a solid, "once-over" of the bike to tighten what needed tightening, and lubing what needed lubing. Knowing we will have friends and family visit -- we will continue to rent whatever we need, for our outdoor fun, from A1A Beach Rentals -- and HIGHLY RECOMMEND you do the same! David, Shay, and Mark are all great people, and so easy to work with. read more

I purchased two items from this company for my kayak; however, I came back 24 hours later to return them (both unused) and they would only accept a kayak leash because what they sold me was too short. They would not accept the kayak paddle even though I had never used it. There was no signage in the building saying that they would not accept refunds. This place is fantastic. Was in Cocoa for a family vacation and Mark Mahan could not have been more helpful. He set up my kids with foam surfboards and they had a blast riding them for the entire trip. They were first timers so Mark made sure they had the right equipment to have success and fun. A few days later he hooked us up with kayaks so we could see the amazing Bioluminescent Plankton. Mark offered a guides but we didn't know when we could go so went for the self guided option. Mark gave us great noted to make sure we had the best possible experience and we did. AMAZING. Do not miss your chance to see this if you can. They even sent someone to pick up the boards when we found ourselves running late at the end of our trip. Mark and A1A made our vacation a tremendous success.
