They clearly don't care about pets or clients. Boarding a pet is stressful enough on animals. If you want to board your animal with them for the fee they advertise you must use their food. If you want to bring your own food - the food your pet is accustomed to they consider this a special diet and charge another $7/nite per pet. Heartless. read more

WORST experience at this vet in which we have been bringing our dogs for the past 15 yrs. We were told that the mass found on our 6 yr old Maltipoo was inoperable and were devastated thinking we were losing her at the same time that our 15 yr old lab was starting to decline. Thinking of losing them both was unimaginable. The delivery of this news was so cold and callous. We took her to the oncologist and then the surgeon and she had surgery and has fully recovered. we had our dog with this vet for about 2 years, I called and reported that my 11 1/2 year old dog was drinknig and urinating huge amouts, it had stated about 2 days prior to call. was told they had an appointment in 3 1/2 days. I asked if they had anything sooner, and said she could go into diabetic coma espically given her age. She said if i couldnt do the Sat. appointment then they could see her the following tues. I was told "you can always take her to the emergency vet in the area". I could not believe the lack of concern or low degree of caring for an animal that was on of thier own. I called another vet in the area who saw us, completly new to the practice, that day when they heard the dogs age and her symptoms. Never will go back. And if you want your animal to be somewhere they are loved, dont go here!!!!!!!!! read more

A neighbor and I spotted a boxer under my deck today (two days after the blizzard!!!), she was emaciated, shy, and growling any time we approached her. it took 45 minutes with food, but my neighbor and i managed to get the dog inside, warm, fed and much more friendly once she knew we were helping. Out of every rescue service I called, every shelter and vet's office, Cape Cod Animal Hospital were the first to pick up. I told them I had a boxer in poor shape (she was bleeding from both back paws and limping from her left hind leg) and asked if I could bring her in to find out if she had an ID chip and if she could get a little medical attention. They invited us right over. When we got there, the boxer got excited and was very receptive to the technician there (Melissa). While my neighbor and I were there waiting for the Barnstable Animal Control, meanwhile we'd posted the boxer's picture on facebook and lo! a connection was made. As soon as we learned the dog's name was Lexy, the technician had a light bulb go off *SHE REMEMBERED THE DOG* and knew her last name. Lexy was picked up and reunited with her family after two weeks outside!!!!!!!!! It was such a happy ending, and all because of the help and care of the people at Cape Cod Animal Hospital. My husband and I take our cats to the Sandwich Animal Hospital, but Cape Cod Animal Hospital is our number one back up for great veterinarian care!! THEY WERE OUTSTANDING AND CARING ^__^ And they helped us reunite a beautiful boxer with her family! read more

I recently brought my dog here after he was hit by a car and, still, am absolutely floored by the care (or lack there of) he received at this clinic. Upon walking in with my dog coddled in a towel of his own blood I was rudely greeted by the front desk assistant who told me to take a seat to begin filling out paper work...this was only after the patron in front of me recognized that my situation was clearly more of an emergency than his. My friend began completing the paperwork on my behalf. I entered the room where a vet simply put a stethoscope to my ailing dog and said there was nothing for them to do here and walked out. Minutes later an aid handed me a bag (resembling that meant for garbage) and sent me on my way. Having never been to this "hospital" prior, I find it difficult to even label it as such. Watching your pet helpless and suffering is truly heart-wrenching. This feeling was only amplified by the blatant neglect and sheer rudeness I experienced at the Cape Cod Animal Hospital. I would undoubtedly NEVER recommend anyone come here, especially if they find themselves in an emergency situation where quick and attentive care is required. Ive been bringing my dogs and cats here for a few years and I've finally decided that Ive had enough attitude from the staff at the front desk. Those women would be more at home and happier guarding the River Styx. The vet is okay most of the time but he will give you attitude when you decline to pay for one more seemingly unnecessary but expensive test. But really, it's that front desk. Rudest place ever!! Especially when dealing with Claire. I called them, because they are the few places on the cape doing international health certificates. I understand I was confused at first, but I later researched and understood what I needed to do (usda/ jet blue).plus I changed my flight, so I could have time to bring in and mail things out. So I called later to scheduled an appointment, lady insisted on being rude, and I was always nice and polite. Frustrated I decided to stop, and told her I would find somewhere else. The nurses were caring and helpful but the doctor was absolutely heartless. I could not imagine someone who has dedicated their life to helping animals appear so cold towards the death of an animal. As I held my bulldog in my arms and it was breathing his last breath he put the stethoscope to her and without even looking at me said "nope, nothing we can do." And walked out of the room as if I was a horrible inconvenience to him. Atleast the staff there seemed to show empathy. I can only assume that the nature of his job has numbed him to the pain a family feels when they lose their best friend and family member. I hope that one day this man can look inside himself and remember why he chose the profession he is in. They should probably make it policy not to hand a grieving person a trash bag to transport their recently deceased pet in. read more

We have been bringing several of our pets here over the past 4 years. We have never been 100% happy but the last visit was the one that sent us over the edge. We brought one of our cats in for a spay, they added extra procedures we did not authorize and tried to charge us for almost double the average cost. Their staff is unprofessional and all they care about is getting the most money out of every visit. I read the other comment and I would bet the owner of that boxer got hit with a huge bill. There are several other vets in this area that are much more reasonable and with staff that is more caring and attentive. We also have a ongoing issue with them that I can not disclose but I would go anywhere but here. Just my 2 cents! read more

Brought my puppy here after he had been hit by a car (I had never been here before). The people that greeted me were very helpful, and the techs quickly came out and gave him a quick once over. He turned out fine, and did not feel like I got fleeced financially. The vet even followed up with some phone calls and gave me his personal cell number. I would highly recommend. read more

I have been coming to this practice for many years and have been very happy with the care that all of my pets received over this time. Most of my pets have been older, and of course with age, they develop certain conditions. I have always felt that the veterinarians and staff are fully on the journey with you. They are very competent, thoughtful, thorough, and caring. They bend over backward to accommodate you and always give options when something is complex. I have been going to Cape Cod Animal for over 40 years, since the Dr. Leach era. In February our beloved German Shepard was diagnosed with Degenerative Mylopathy. This is a terrible disease that attacks the spine. Bruschie's quality of life deteriorated to the point that he could not get up by himself, he needed a sling to walk (which he hated), and he lost control of his bowels. His quality of life was bad. My husband and I made the most difficult decision that any pet owner has to make. I called Cape Cod Animal Hospital and Nicole answered the phone. I asked if in could bring Bruschi in that it was time, all the while crying. I was put on hold. Nicole came back and told me that they were booked that day, 8/17/2017, and the next day and that I should bring Bruschi to the emergency hospital in Bourne. I could not believe what I was hearing. This is no way to treat anyone under these circumstances, never mind someone who has been going there as long as I have. To send us to strangers. I called a friend who is a tech at another hospital and knew Bruschi and his condition. She got me in that morning and the whole staff there couldn't have been more caring and sympathetic. Bruschi went to sleep surrounded by friends and family, not with strangers. Bruschi was our fifth and last dog that will go to Cape Cod Animal Hospital. If you want someone who cares about you and your pet, go somewhere else. read more

Another veterinary office in the area gave my cat a death sentence. I accepted the diagnosis and prognosis and enjoyed what time I had left with him. I thought he was in renal failure so I took him to CC Animal Hospital, where our dog is a patient, expecting the worst. Dr. Munson said,"Did you give him steroids to try to shrink the tumor?" It was never mentioned as an option at the first office, just expensive surgery I couldn't afford. 10 days on steroids and he's perked up and got his appetite back. I'll still have to say goodbye at some point, but they actually cared about my cat rather than trying to make money off our misfortune. Thanks! read more
