We were hoping for a much better tour. The tour started pretty late and the duck mobile just drove thru the street and kind of a highway !!

Lame. We'd seen Duck tours going around Boston and always wanted to try them. So, when we saw them while walking around Hyannis we figured we'd give it a shot. I suspect they do their job fairs outside the old age home and the High School drama club meetings. The entire time we were on the tour all we kept hearing about is how the tour "could be better but they weren't allowed to travel there" and they were giving plugs to restaurants on the route. There was minimal historical significance when en route and being subjected to the constant snarky remarks and self deprecation which is demonstrated by the tour guides was obnoxious. The only redeeming quality to the tour is when the vehicle goes into the water for the short 10-15 minute ride. If only the guides would be quiet long enough for people to enjoy it... UGH. Luckily the tour was relatively inexpensive. Though the guides continue to remind you throughout the trip that they accept tips. I neglected to leave anything and high tailed it out of there. TL;DR: Save your cash. The ride was loud, the sights we were shown were stores and restaurants on Main Street, a rock that they joked was bought on eBay, the ferry to the islands, a lighthouse that isn't really a lighthouse,and the Cape Cod hospital.the tour was lean on Kennedy sites - just passing by the St. Francis of Xavier church where Arnie and Maria were hitched We endured the awful dad-jokes delivered by the driver and Jungle Cruise Skipper-wannabe, drama-school dropout tour-guide. At the end of the tour, the driver flipped his kid on a delivery guy who was parked in his spot. The plus side was that our four year old had an enjoyable time. read more

15 of us were going on the 11am tour. Driver and guide were friendly and informative. Until....the boat died in the water in the bay. We were stranded for an hour. A mechanic eventually came to help. When they said to unboard the mechanic, the guide and the driver NEVER said sorry! Then they sent 1 cab for ALL people on the boat. We just decided to walk all the way back to tour ~20'mins. We had children with us and it was summer hot weather. When asked for a refund, we were granted. But when we asked for us to come back another day complimentary they said absolutely not and would have to pay again. As we were on vacation this just wasted our whole afternoon. It was such a waste and the customer service was just rude. At the office still no one said sorry for the inconvenience. I'd suggest and keep your fingers crossed but be prepared to be floating around the bay and wasting a vacation afternoon.... read more

We booked this excursion 1.5 hours before our scheduled departure time. When we arrived 1 hour later the claimed the boat was "broken" however they loaded up people for the next booking and refused to allow us on, refund our monies or transfer us to another day. We had to file a fraud claim with our credit card to get a refund. The employee behind the desk said there is no guarantee for any booking and their no transfer policy is applicable even if THEY cancel. When asked to speak with a manager she advised he was not able to speak with customers. He was in the back room. Consumers beware!!! This is not the kind of establishment you want to give your funds to. Go to Boston instead where they value their customers. read more

Lame, loud and so annoying. I was appalled by the guide she was dreadful! If I could have pushed her into the harbour I would have. She was obnoxious unfunny and verging on rude. Don't bother. I have done the duck tour in Boston (which is great) in the past, so wanted to check this one out while in the area on vacation a few years ago, made the reservation the morning of for a Sunday afternoon and it was canceled minutes before it was to start due a low turnout. We headed home that evening and were disappointed that we had missed it, so planned to try again if we ever returned. Cut to about a month ago, when another Cape Cod trip was booked and I checked on their website to see if they were offering any weekday tours as that is when our trip fell. Tickets were available for purchase for tours on Friday, June 12th, the last day of our planned vacation, and I didn't purchase them that day but made a mental note to do so closer to the date. Today, the week before, I saw a Groupon for Duckmobiles and purchased it. I then called the number provided to make a reservation for the 6/12 tour, had to listen to a recorded message twice stating that weekday tours started in mid June (which is vague) and then listened to their ear piercing hold music for 10 minutes with no answer before I hung up and went back on the website. Their schedule has now been changed so that the tour I was planning to purchase is no longer available. Luckily, I was able to cancel the Groupon, but the second experience with the company really put a bad taste in my mouth. They obviously change their schedule and cancel tours on a whim, instead of holding themselves accountable to their customers. I now have a literal headache (from the music) and think it's ridiculous that planning a sightseeing tour could be this much of a figurative one! Get it together, people! If you only find Saturday tours profitable, fine. Then just do one day a week and stick to it, instead of jerking those trying to give you business around!!! read more

Came here last summer (2017); it was my first time on a duckmobile tour and it was excellent! I forget their names, but the driver and the speaker were both older gentlemen and had plenty of jokes and knowledge to keep their visitors interested throughout the entire tour. I thoroughly enjoyed this experience and would come back if I'm ever in the area! read more

Maybe it was the high expectations, but this was a total waste of time and money. It's general seating on the "boat" and you need to wait 15 minutes in order to be sure your group sits together. We began with a drive down Main Street and all the guide did was point out restaurants and shops to spend money. There were a few historical sites, but folks here really need to get over the Kennedy's! The water part was just a loop around the harbor with the guide telling us how much it would cost to own a home. On the drive back to town, we passed the Cape Cod Hospital. Not sure what criteria they use, but according to our guide, it's the #3 heart hospital in the US. Should probably have reminded her about Cleveland Clinic, Hopkins, Mayo, Mass General, Brigham, Sinai, ... They guarantee you will enjoy it, or will be equally disappointed if you do the tour a second time. read more

If you're looking for a tour that offers any type of historical information about the city you're in, this tour is not for you. This is really just a funny, good time. The tour guides were funny in an odd sort of way and gave random facts about different places that we drove by, which were mostly places to eat. It was fun going into the water. It was a big foggy that day, so we didn't get to see some things they wanted to show us in the harbor. Besides the chilly weather, it was a good time. read more

We bought tickets at 11 am for the 4:00 ride. We arrived back at the shop at the suggested arrival time of 345. All the seats were taken. There were a couple of single seats far apart on the boat. People were allowed to save 6 seats for others who were not even there yet. The boat company has a policy of no refunds so they closed the shop and said sorry no refunds. Take the separated seats or leave . We left . Horrible customer service and absolutely no attempt to help us! read more

Absolutely, the worst money spent on our Cape Cod trip. Purchased tickets via Groupon. Don't bother. All they do is plug restaurants. You're in the water about 15 minutes, and all they showed was the JFK Memorial Park, from such a distance all you could see was grass. The "45 minute tour" was really about 30 minutes. If you like bad jokes and lots of loud quacking over a speaker, then this is for you. No historical significance. It is not a city tour nor much of a harbor tour. If they stood by there product, they would have given us some kind of refund. read more

We totally enjoyed the tour. I'd been on another Duck tour in Pittsburgh and this one was just as good. They take you through Hyannis where they point out Kennedy stuff and then go on the water, pointing out other rich peoples' houses, etc. It was pretty good, just the right length. Heads up there may be kids if it's busy season. Bring the camera. read more

How the Hell has NO one yelped this before!!! We ALWAYS do this tour when we're in Dennis for a week! Samantha & John do a great job narrating the tour and we've always had Captain Jeff as our Captain. QUACK!!!! This tour is super cute and a lovely addition to anyone's day (vacationer or townie, alike). Yes, this tour is super corny with horribly scripted cheese, however, you can tell the people who work there legitimately love their jobs. Although the crew was very friendly and fun, the tour was not worth anywhere near the money paid. Most of the attractions that were pointed out were restaurants and other boats that we could spend our money on. The "Cape Cod Lighthouse" mentioned on their website, is a privately owned replica. I could be biased as a former tourguide, but the Duckmobiles are so much fun. It is the cheapest way for you to get a boat ride around Hyannis Harbor, it's quick and easy so you're back to shopping Main Street in no time, and it's "educational." Folks, this isn't an in-depth walking tour about the Kennedy family, nor is it the nautical history of Cape Cod. It's silly jokes and some fun facts while you quack at passers-by. Kids LOVE it. Adults with a sense of humor LOVE it. I LOVE it!! John, the owner, has the most perfect Massachusetts accent (my Southern husband could hardly contain his glee) and Captain Jeff will undoubtedly make you groan with his cheesy jokes. And the guides are usually great performers, who moonlight in the BHS drama club or in community theater. Don't forget to tip your tourguide and for goodness sake...wait until AFTER the ride to buy your kids those obnoxious quacker whistles. Thank you. :) read more

Before I talk about all the things that ruined this trip & the reasons we will never go back & never recommend this trip to others, I will say the tour itself was OK. Not great, but OK. It's not educational. It's not historical - if that's what you are looking for - but it's a fun little trip (45 mins) if you are looking to kill some time in Hyannis. I bought 3 tkts for myself & my 2 young kids (2yrs old and 9 yrs old). We arrived in line 3 mins after the recommended time. Everyone was already on board - I handed my boarding passes to the Capt. who said "Oh this could be a problem. We were only supposed to have 29 people & this makes 30. Well, your son can sit on your lap". Really? Even though I paid for his tkt. I explained that I needed to sit with my children & his response "well you were the last one here & it's not assigned seating". We got on board realizing we would get no help from him & what do we see? A family of 4 (with teenage children) taking up 5 1/2 seats (2 rows of 3 seats)..the dad was large and took up ore than one seat. In front of him & the son was the mother, daughter and her POCKETBOOK taking up the other 3. The Capt. asked no one to move so my 9 yr old had to sit in the "half" seat left by this man - and in order to sit near her. I had to sit across from her with my child (who had a tkt) on my lap. The Capt. still says nothing. My 9 yr old cried for the most of the trip. When we got back I attempted to contact the manager several times & the customer service at the office was so poor & the communication sorely lacking I finally emailed him. That worked as he called me back right away. But just because he called me back didn't equate to him caring about the situation. He was incredibly defensive and rude. He basically told me it was the fault of the other passengers who wouldn't move. My fault for being last in line AND not getting on the boat & trying to move people myself. And the poor customer service of the people in the office because he has "a hundred things to do" and they were new and not yet trained. He never apologized but accused me of only being happy if he gave me my money back WHICH I NEVER ASKED FOR. All I asked for was an apology which I never got - or some concern. His final response was "we do tens of thousands of these things and people have a good experience. You just aren't one of them". Is it any wonder his employees have no idea how to speak to customers? Honestly surprised that with management & staff like this that the tour is still operating. Very disappointing that what should be a fun activity turned into me writing my first ever review. read more

Our family of 4 experienced the Kids Fishing Duck Boat and it was great! Ninety minutes is just right for this as my daughter kept her interest the whole time. We caught 4 baby sand sharks and a few fish. I would recommend this. read more

There was nothing to see along this tour. Not one thing. The guides were acting silly to keep us occupied but there was not one point of interest along the route. Guides even told jokes about how the buildings and other things we were driving by were not famous (like haha made ya look type jokes). Only 45 minutes long. read more

This was a nice little tour about an hour long and it was way cheaper than the Boston duck boats. The tour guide had a sense of humor but it was sometimes just too corny. If you don't mind a few ear piercing quacks every five minutes it is a nice tour of the area. The tour guide talked about history a little bit but mostly pointed out good places to eat and visit. He also pointed out a free beach to us that we did not know about so that was a plus. read more

My family showed up a half an hour early (as required by the company's policy) for our 11am reservation. There was no one there. They were late honoring their own policy and didn't call to tell us that the boat was broken and we were going to have to come back later. Young kids in tow, we rescheduled for the 4pm so we could rearrange our day and let our son nap. We showed back up a half an hour early and were told that we'd have to reschedule again because there weren't enough people. When I spoke with the owner suggesting that they communicate with people better by making calls when they know they're going to cancel, being there on time, and post somewhere in their lobby about their attendance policy, I was met by him sarcastically saying, "Yeah, I know, the customer is always right." Horrible customer service. And, to boot, I got to explain to my three year old two times in one day why she wasn't getting to go on a boat ride she had been looking forward to for days. read more
