Whale watching Boat. So exciting. 08-01-26
    Sylvia A.

Everything about this tour was EXCELLENT!! We saw so many whales it was amazing. We also had one of the workers explain to us all about the whales and their names. Very large boat with indoor and outdoor seating. We chose to sit outdoors so we wouldn't miss anything. So glad we did. They turn the boat around so you can see the whales from both sides of the boat. Whole experience is about 4- hours total. They also sell food, refreshments, snacks & alcohol. This was my first time seeing the whales up close and personal. I've seen them at sea world but this was different. Enjoyed every bit of it. If you don't mind mind your hair blowing in the wind. I highly recommend the outdoor seating hold on to your hats because this boat moves pretty fast!! Highly recommend :)

Wow. We were told our trip was one of the best ever! We identified over 20 wheels and in the van there were about 75 in total. They were everywhere! Exceeded all expectations and appreciate how enthusiastic the guides and volunteers were! I recommend this trip and loved the harbor as well where we took off. All majestic!

This was the best whale watch we have done on the Cape. The boat was a manageable size and we were able to move around, we didn't feel like we were packed in like sardines. And They knew where to go for the whales! Also the naturalist onboard was fantastic. Her narration was informative, and she was busy that day because we saw a lot of whales! She kept things interesting, she did not gloss over the threats to whales - we even saw a Mylar balloon at sea which allowed for a real life lesson on the threats of marine debris. And she would often say things like "if you're wondering why they do that behavior - we do too!" - this acknowledgment that we still have a lot to learn about the whales was so refreshing, and opens the door for kids to think that they could be the ones to make those next discoveries about these amazing animals. 5 stars all the way.

All I can say is amazing... just amazing. We saw loads of action. One of the hump back whales breached the water 7 times and that was just on our side of the vessel. If you plan on going in the future make sure you arrive early, area is very congested and parking tight. Be aware parking is an extra charge of $15.00. Also make sure you bring some warm outerwear it will get much cooler on the water

Our trip was AMAZING! The whales were out to play today and the crew was so informative. They never rushed us back in fact there was a spot the whales started breaching and they stopped! We were late getting back but 100% worth it. The crew answered all the questions we had and knew exactly where the whales would be. It was so fun to hear them describe each whale. We would 100% do this again! We took 3 kids 6-12 and they were in awe the entire time! Also parking was super easy!

Such an awesome time on this Whale watching cruise!! They have this cruise only at 10am every day. It was so convenient for us staying in Yarmouth. The boat is clean and the staff is very friendly and informative. We were lucky to have seen several whales. Also a pod of dolphins kept swimming with the boat! Just a perfect day!

We had a wonderful experience on our cruise. Kathy did a terrific job spotting whales and dolphins and providing very informative commentary. It was our lucky day as we saw a huge pod of nursing dolphins. The pod was estimated to be more than 100. We encountered three species of whales: Humpbacks, Fin Whales, and a third species I can't recall. We saw more whales than is typical on a cruise so we were very lucky. Hoping you'll have good luck too.

Overall a great experience with Hyannis Whale Watch. the boat was modern, clean, and spacious. Parking was accessible and affordable for the cape $15 for 4.5 hours. The staff were friendly and very knowledgeable about the Whales and locations we were in. My only negative which was out of the tours control was the amount of recreational boaters interfering with the whales natural habitat. the smaller boats agitate and disorient the whales.

October is not as crowded as the summer cruises tend to be so we had seat choices inside and/or outside. It takes about an hour to cruise out to where the whales are. Once out in the protected waters of the designated "whale park" the hunt for whales began. Not many in October, so it took a while for a couple to swim into the area. Very cool. One swam very close to our boat and right under another cruise boat as if to say "Hi". Fun and educational.

Absolutely worth the price! A 4 hour roundtrip journey with the most amazing views and most incredibly knowledgeable team of professionals! Would highly recommend!

Brought my 11 month old and 3 year old. It was a BLAST! The boat was clean, smooth waters and we had beautiful weather the day we went. We saw so many whales and even. Sea turtle! Highly recommend.

    Can we bring a dog?

Pets are not allowed. It's 3.5-4 hours on a big boat, lots of people and nowhere for a dog to poop. Their website confirms with this which you can find under the 10 tips for enjoying your whale watch:…

    Places to stay overnight?

Hello, there are a few places to stay in Cape Cod! I personally stayed in Bayside Resorts and chose a package which included tickets for a lot of activities.

    How rough is the water?

Hi! I honestly think it depends on the day and of course the weather conditions. When I went the last week of May, the water was pretty rough and a lot of people were getting seasick. But of course, if you are more prone to seasickness (which sadly…

There was no expectation to even see any whales, because I know there are never guarantees with nature.. But it was a very special trip with our children and our neighbor from California who recently lost his spouse. I called after 10 AM when I saw there was a 1 PM opening for a private charter, Chad immediately called me back and even though it took me quite a while to rally the troops, he held this spot for us. He definitely went over and above. Then Captain Jesse I told him I'd write a Cell was the icing on the cake by his kindness, knowledge, excitement, and so much more. Oh, and by the way, we saw at least a dozen different whales. There was tail slapping breaching spy, hopping.... And since we were in a small boat, we were able to zip around to see everything. It is well worth the money to do this. Big boats are fine, but this was something that will be embedded in our hearts forever.

She was incredibly knowledgeable, full of energy, and genuinely passionate about whales and nature. You could tell this is more than just a job for her. She even had a whale tattoo on her leg, which made her love for these incredible animals even more authentic. We learned so much from her, and it was refreshing to have a guide so excited to share her knowledge. She kept pointing out the whales as they surfaced, and her timing was perfect, just when you thought the action had moved on, she would spot another humpback breaching or lifting its tail before diving back down. If you can, try to get on one of Sophie's tours. I've been on whale watching tours before, but I have never seen anything like this. Our four kids were beyond excited as we saw what felt like 40 to 60 humpback whales. The boat ride itself was fantastic, with the salty spray in the air and everyone crowding the rails every time a whale came up close. It was one of the most incredible wildlife experiences we have ever had. At first, I thought the tour was a little pricey, but as my son said, "Dad, this was worth every dollar. You should have paid more." He was right. We happily tipped Sophie and the crew on our way out because they absolutely earned it. If you are visiting Provincetown, do not miss this experience. It was one of the highlights of our trip, and I would recommend it to anyone.

Captain Rob- i can't say enough good things. he was incredibly nice, and developed a great rapport with not only the adults, but the two little kids (who, credit to their parents, were incredibly well-behaved). he just had such a gentle manner about him, and i felt very safe in his care. if you've never been on a seal watch, or you've never been out with Blue Claw, i highly, highly recommend. my husband and i will definitely be back, we enjoyed ourselves so much. this is a great way to spend around two hours out on the water, and appreciating a little slice of the beautiful Cape.
