Across the street from the mill, the side of the street you park on, there are some beautiful paths near the stream. I guess this is the herring run? Lots of gorgeous flowers, little waterfalls. And I saw at least 6 Snowy Egrets feeding in the stream maybe 100' from the parking lot. This side also has a few picnic tables under some huge trees should you decide to have some lunch. If you walk around the grist mill, there is a beautiful little pond in back complete with dam to control the flow of water to make the mill operate. Not far off 6A. Definitely worth a stop.

She really knew so much about Edward Gorey and his life. I loved learning about his love of cats and knowing that the museum still has cats who live on premise today, as well as the charitable giving that has continued well after his death to local animal charities. Well worth a visit. Be sure to drop by the gift shop afterwards as they have a ton of books, shirts, and memorabilia to choose from.

There is some parking off to the side of the house and I was able to get a spot. Make sure that you make reservations on the website prior to coming. You reserve a time slot and pay when you get there. I meandered about before going inside. There's a person sitting just inside the entrance to ask your name and reservation time. It is a darling house with all things Edward Gorey in terms of ephemera. Pictures, books, and bits & bobs. I was hoping to see a cat or two so that was disappointing somewhat. You do only get the first floor as well just to let people know. I did not participate in the docent tour - I just wanted to kind of look and snoop at my own pace. It was very cute and mellow. There was a lot of information and the current type exhibit is amazing (O Sordid Type) - I would recommend that highly. I think if you're a fan, it is worth a visit and they do have a good amount in the gift shop, but nothing appealed to my wallet this go round.

The exhibits show how glass making impacted Sandwich historically, but also brings it to the modern times with their special exhibits. However, the best part of the experience is the glass blowing demos that occurs hourly. It shows a local artist explaining and demonstrating how a glass object is crafted from molten glass.
