We had such a great experience here! The staff was very friendly and helpful and set us up for a great experience on the water. The scenery was beautiful and calming from all the crabs to the birds. We rented Kayaks ($20 a person for 1.5 hours) and they provided us the option to go down to the beach (1.5 miles) or up to the lake (1 mile). They had life vests for all ages. They educated us on which way the River was flowing so we knew what best suited us. Overall made for a very pleasant morning. read more

Good prices. Friendly staff. Went out with the family including two children (6 and 4). Nice leisurely stroll from 28 to lower county along the river. Currents were not overwhelming and plenty of private docks around in case of emergency. Obviously some had no docking signs but a nice peace of mind in case of a true emergency. read more

Decent no-frills kayak rental in a converted motel at the Swan "River" (really an estuary); you can go upriver and tie up on the opposite side of the bridge at Clancy's and stop and have a cocktail on your way to the pond, or head down 'river" to the Sound and swim a while (while your rental fee accumulates). Excellent birding and remarkably peaceful once you get away from the bridges. The paddling can be difficult if wind and tide conditions are against you so ask about tides, check the forecast, and plan your itinerary accordingly. Prices are a touch more expensive than Howie's up at Bass River, but the river is less traveled and they had plenty of inventory. Instruction was minimal but then again we knew what we were doing, help boarding and docking was offered and helpful. Overall a decent but not overly adventurous outing. They also have double bicycle-style paddleboats and real fiberglass doubles. I wouldn't necessarily recommend this as the first spot for very young kayakers, but for middle-school kids and up it's reasonable for them to be in their own boats, assuming they know how to swim. A 90-minute rental is sufficient to go all the way up to Swan "Pond" and back and have time to dorf around; if you're going down to the Sound I suggest at least a half day, and time it so you're coming back with the rising tide. read more

Friendly workers, competitively priced, and very fair in their rates. They charge for an 1 1/2, but give you 1/2 hour window of flexability. We were a party of 4 and they could have easily charged another 40 on top of the 85 it cost, but let the additional 40 minutes go without a charge. That left us enough time to kayak down the river ( against the current ) have a swim at the beach, relax and kayak back. We will continue to use this company. read more

This place is great. The people are super friendly. You can go towards the lake or the ocean. We went towards the ocean and ended at a beach on the Inlet. Had a swim and went back. It Took about an hour and a half. I'll be back. read more

It was a beautiful facility that's was nicely run. The staff was helpful and very courteous. The girl behind the desk gave us a great suggestion due to the tide. It was a beautiful meandering course to the beach. We took a quick swim and headed back. 1-1/2 hours was plenty of time. Bring waters, it was a bit of a workout going against the tide paddling out. Our family took a couple kayak trips from Cape Cod Waterways and had a blast. Staff were helpful in letting us know the current conditions in order to find the best paddling route based on the tide. Once on your kayak, canoe, or electric paddle boat, you can either take the river out to the Sound or go the other direction through the marsh and into Swan Pond (Lake?). The staff were helpful in getting us loaded into our boats and eagerly offered to take our photos. It was a beautiful kayak trip through the marsh with plenty of wildlife spotting. We ventured into and around the lake. Great for beginners and families with small children as the waters are calm. read more

I had a wonderful time out on the water. My boyfriend and I rented the electric paddle boat. It was nice to have the option of just sitting back, letting the current and the motor bring us along or peddling to speed up at times. Very quiet and very peaceful. Such a good time! Thanks to the staff who told us which direction to go, so that we could take advantage of the current on the way back! Note pedal boats may seem cute and fun but it's hard work and the engine doesn't do much for you! Better off with something that moves a whole lot better through the water with how strong the current can be. We made it all the way to the mouth of the river and then took advantage of the current and just floated back up the river. It's such a fun time, a good way to spend a couple of hours with the family and we saw some beautiful birds and even a few crabs along the way. read more

We took kayaks up the river with the kids to the big lake and parked at the big island. The staff were real nice guys, very helpful. You can either go one direction, inland through the winding estuary to the lake, or down to the beach. Very mellow and easy for first-timers. I would recommend having a bathing suit or change of pants for the kayaks, as the top of your pants will get wet from water dripping off the paddles (put your wallet/phone, etc in a plastic bag in your pocket). Takes about 90 minutes to head up to the giant island, stop for a minute and head back. Really good easy intro to kayaks. Go early, even on a drizzly day the lot was filled by 11AM. Awesome fun time kayaking with the family. 90 minutes is tight to go all the way up to the pond and then down to the ocean, but they didn't seems to be watching the clock and more concerned that we have a good time. Great, friendly service, and non challenging ride where my 9 yr old learned to kayak. They also gave me a toe rope to help her out when the wind and ride were challenging. read more

Had a blast with the paddle boards! Thought the rental for the "drive away" boards was reasonable. We were going a little ways away to paddle board on a private lake. The folks at Cape Cod Waterways were super helpful and accommodating. They gave us a tutorial, helped load up all the gear into the car, and were friendly the entire time. When we brought the boards back later, just as friendly and helpful. Next time I visit the Cape, I'll be renting from them again. Thanks for the great experience! read more

Great experience, good customer service. A tip: check out the map on the office wall to know where you are going. They are not big on letting you know how far and where to steer the watercraft. Also expect a quick lesson and after that you are on your own to fall off the paddle board. It was very fun. I do recommend this place though. read more

He offered lots of suggestions for our mixed group of kids and adults without being pushy or rushing our indecisive bunch along. I had the greatest day ever today by starting off with a 45 minute session of Stand Up Paddle Boarding for the very first time out of Cape Cod Waterways! First off Dan, was awesome enough to come in two hours early to accommodate me and my girl friend's work out schedule so we were still able to get to work on time! What a great guy! The rentals are the best rates on the Cape, and believe me I did my research. The view paddling down swan river was spectacular and so relaxing! I would recommend anyone to rent kayaks, canoes or paddle boards from here! It was a breeze parking and getting out on the water, the area is beautiful and the value is incredible! I feel my biceps and shoulders got a great workout with a view, can't beat that! read more
