If you are in Cape Cod, and you want to catch fish, book this guy immediately. We went for a morning, half day trip on a Tuesday, and we were taken out to do some fishing off of the boat while moving, followed by deep sea fishing. Is this a luxury fishing yacht? No, not at all. What it is, is a fishing boat with a paid of totally hands on, helpful guys, who will make sure you catch fish. Lots of fish. They take care off all of the details for you from setting up the lines to baiting it (until you feel like you want to do it yourself), and taking the fish off the line. For the moving fishing, I kid you not, I had a bite within 30 seconds of casting my line and brought up a bluefish. We caught a few, but not a ton of fish while moving. When we went to the deep sea fishing spots the captain knew, that was when we made our killing. It was rediculous. We seriously were getting bites on the lines within 2 minutes of casting, every time. Sure, we threw some back, but by the end of the trip, I think we had in the neighborhood of 30 keepers. Plus another 10-20 we threw back, and a pair of sharks for good measure. At the end of the trip, they filleted the 30 fish for us, washed, and bagged them (seperated out by type). Ball park, I would guess we took home about 30 pounds of fresh fish. The scrod (scrob?) was recommend we try just raw as sashimi... oh man... totally amazing. My boyfriend and I spent a morning on the Atsakeepa 2 with Capt. Barry and had a nice time. Unfortunately it wasn't a great day to be out on the ocean - despite a decent weather forecast, it was unseasonably chilly, gray, and windy. But we made the most of it since, as New Yorkers, we don't get to go fishing too often! We went out for about 3.5 hours looking for bluefish and seabass. We didn't find the bluefish, but we caught quite a few black seabass, and some porgies too (about 15-20 keepers total, I would guess?). I was fine with that, since seabass is much tastier to eat, but the boyfriend was a little bummed that he didn't get to reel in a big bluefish. Oh well - can't win em all. As a previous reviewer mentioned, Capt. Barry takes care of setting up and baiting the lines as well as removing the catch from the hook. He was very patient and helpful with a first timer like me. At the end of the trip, he cleaned, filleted, and bagged all the fish for us, and gave us some tips for preparing it. (We didn't have the guts to try it raw as sashimi, but it was delicious on the grill with veggies!) Barry is really easygoing and great to work with. I called to make the reservation a week or so ahead of time and he didn't ask for a deposit. He also was very reasonable when it came to payment, and insisted we pay him less than the amount we had agreed upon since the weather and fishing hadn't been great. So while it could have been just a 4-star experience thanks to conditions beyond Barry's control, I give it 5 stars for his customer service. All told, the goal of our trip was to bring some fresh seafood back to our house to grill, and we sure did. In fact, we caught so much fish that it fed us for 3 meals, and we even invited a friend over for lunch one day...AND we still had some left over. Needless to say, we ate really well during our 3-day stay on the Cape! read more

We booked AtsaKeepa for our group of 6 newbie/wannabe fishermen during a recent stay on Cape Cod. We had a group of 4 adults and 3 kids (14/13/11), and the day could not have gone better. Captain Casey was extremely helpful throughout the entire process, from booking, scheduling, trip selection, fishing, cleaning, and everything else. It was our first time, but Captain Casey and his first mate have been doing this for 25 years and is someone that genuinely loves what he does and has a great time doing it. Just took my family on a four hour private charter with Barry and his Mate Mark. We caught bluefish, sea bass, porgy and even a couple of sharks! Everything was first class from the rods, reels and bait, to the fileting of the fish at the end, and there were A LOT of fish. We have done some party boat trips, but this was far better. The pricing was very fair and I would highly recommend a private trip with Barry and Atsakeepa if you are vacationing in the area. read more
