While on my way to throw some bags in my car, I decided we should look at the Olive Oil too. Might as well bring all of the heavy liquid in one shot. My wife and I entered, trying a few olive oils on our own. When we got to the balsamic vinegars, we needed assistance for our samples. The staff were incredibly helpful and suggested a few that I might like. When we tried the smoke though, I was amazed by the flavor. I didn't know what to do with it, but I wanted to buy it. (I've since used it in a cocktail, but still haven't cooked with it...). We bought a few items and spoke to the staff about our town. The cashier used to live near us, but when you're at a beach town, you always see transplants. Really decent products with interesting flavors. Can't go wrong here. read more

There are a lot of varieties of olive oil, vinegar, sea salt, dipping, and spread. The breade for the tasting is amazing. Very light and absorb the oil and vinegar to experience the flavor. A must visit in Cape May. read more

Waffling between 3 and 4 stars (call it 3.49) - come for the massive variety of olive oils, vinegars and spices, but maybe don't stay too long for fear of a strong sales pitch. It's appreciated in an often-confusing venue of olive oil, vinegars and spices, but the sales pitch is laid on a bit too thick. Pros: Just a massive selection of incredibly well cultivated vinegars, olive oils and spices. Bigger than any other place I've seen. And the staff was incredibly well versed in these items. You can also taste/try anything they have out there...including spices! Maybe I'll bring a grill next time! The oils and vinegars we tried were indeed, delicious. Cons: The staff was fairly pushy. I admit, we entered after the (I think) 8pm hour almost definitely near closing, but the gentleman who approached us seem to hover nearby quite a bit. I felt uncomfortable, but I suppose it was also closing time. Prices are high. Higher than, bluntly, other olive oil stores I've visited (and yes, I've visited more than 1!). I think they bring an even better and wider selection of product, but without the significant education and understanding, it's hard for me to pay that much more. I get it, but I can't justify it for myself. Additionally, even small containers of spices, perhaps of great quality, were very high. I know the quality may be higher, but my palate is probably too unrefined to notice! Conclusion: It's a quaint shop for that great little purchase of something you never knew you needed and the flavors were hard to beat. But some pushy sales pitches and expensive prices will probably have me going somewhere else. read more

This place is adorable the staff was super helpful and really kind. They would let us try all kinds of oils and balsamic's and cheeses and gave great recommendations and pairing ideas. We stopped at the end of our trip to pick up a selection of items to remind us of our wonderful trip to Cape May. Been coming here for years and love their olive oil, but such a strange experience today. Was being rung up by an older gentlemen who was completely pleasant, then another sale associate walked over and changed the whole dynamic. Started telling the man waiting on us how to do everything as if he was in training - was doing fine until she came over. She pointed out that the canned wine we were buying cost more than buying a bottle and were we sure. We explained that we were taking it to the beach. She continued ordering the man around until his hands started shaking. Then as he rang up the two cans of wine pointed out to us the cost of each and asked if we were knew how much they cost. Completely condescending at this point. Couldn't get out of there fast enough and likely won't be back. read more

I decided to check out the Cape May Olive Oil Company, thinking a nice bottle of olive oil and vinegar would be a nice gift for my sister-in-law. The owners are the same as those who own the Cape May Peanut Butter Company, where we had also shopped earlier in the afternoon. We had a great shopping experience here, tasking many of the dips and spreads, and of course the many of the oils and vinegars. Between all the sampling we did at the Peanut Butter Co. and here, we basically had lunch! The owner and staff were very generous with their time explaining the differences between some of the products, and were able to recommend a nice pairing of an olive oil and vinegar for the gift I was getting. I also ended up getting a nice balsamic vinegar for myself. These vinegars are so good they can go on a salad alone with nothing else as a dressing. My husband also wondered into the salt tasting room, and was intrigued by one of the salts, but didn't know what he would do with it. After some suggestions by the owner, he was sold, and has tried it and enjoyed it on several meals so far. I'm looking forward to trying it on a salad, as the owner also suggested to me. Walking into specialty food stores such as this can be overwhelming, but the staff at Cape May Olive Oil Company made us feel very comfortable. I'll definitely come back and recommend this store to others. read more

Cute little shop with lots of fun products. In addition to the oils, they have flavored salts and sugars, which could make a great gift. I grabbed a raspberry salt to use as a glass rim for bellinis. They have an assortment of dips, spreads and snacks, too. Overall, a nice place to stop in and sample, and lots of good options for taking home a gift. The employees were friendly and funny, teasing each other and us, and making us feel quite welcome overall. read more

Nice store. I found this place while I was walking back to my car. Since I love different and unique olive oils I had to go in. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The set up was great where you can try all the olive oils, vinegars, dips, mustards, and the chips. The tortilla chips are almost addictive. The spreads were great I ended up getting the feta & pink peppercorn dip. The prices were $15 for the oils, $18 for the vinegars and $10 for the spreads. They even have bacon olive oil which I never since before. Nice little shop. read more

When here on a whim in February, but any time during the year peak your head into cute shop. You can try all of the olive oils and salts, and dips too. A must do when you are in cape may. Our favorite olive oil was the Tuscan herb. Also the jalapeño spread was great. Taste great and great bargain for some infused olive oil. Great gift item. read more

I always go to Olive Oil stores whenever I can, and so far the Cape May Olive Oil Company has been my favorite! The balsamic has a great consistency, and tastes amazing. They had so many varieties of flavors as well. The lavender balsamic was easily a top choice. The olive oils were all great as well, the basil being my favorite. We were at the Peanut Butter Factory as well, and that was just as good. make sure to stop at both of these locations! I will be ordering online also. The salt, sugar, and various spreads were a cool addition. The staff was super friendly as well! read more
