First time visiting this mall, had some time to kill. Very outdated. There was a random Vision store wedged in the food court. If I had to come back it would be for Donair Dude, but there are other locations. There are not a lot of Taco Time locations, but they had one! read more

I've been coming to this mall since 1997 and ever since then, I've always thought this particular mall was a bit of a dud when compared to the more popular malls like Metrotown. Out of all the stores in this place, the only ones that's really worth going to visit is probably Walmart and Sears. There are stores like Walmart, Sears, Dollar Giant, EB Games, Urban Planet and they recently opened up a HMV outlet store there in late November as well but closed down after a couple of months later. Those are the only stores that most people would most likely visit. So there might be something worth checking out and many of the store's prices are often fair enough but I would recommend not coming to this particular mall unless if you have a ton of time to kill or if this mall is particularly close. Also, one of the reasons why this place is such a dud in my opinion is because only the 1st floor is used for shopping. They have 4 different floors in this mall but strangely, instead of it being used for shopping, they've used the 2nd to the 4th floor for business offices and a preschool or kindergarten class. The only way they could possibly make this more of a popular mall for the general public would be: 1) adding a few banks into the mall itself. Despite how there's already a few banks nearby but I'm sure some people who is already in the mall doesn't want to go back outside in order to get some money or in order to deal with some bank issues, especially during a bad weather. 2) also consider actually opening up SOME of the spaces on the 2nd, 3rd and 4th floor into a few extra stores that most people would actually want to go visit. 3) Also, adding a movie theater like Metrotown would be another good way to attract more people into the mall though. I believe they were originally thinking about doing it 10 years ago but that idea was scrapped. read more

These places always fall in a 'huh' section for me as you may have been somehow a great mall back when you were built, but it seems you have fallen behind to other 'mall' projects in the GVR. I wondered when this place actually was built, and 'wikipedia' has the info, saying it was built in the late 60's and later an addition of Sears was added. The words, not much have changed definitely apply here, where most of the vendors may have moved on (except Sears) but the area has practically stayed the same. You would think that North Vancouver could sustain a big shopping complex, but the only mall that I know would be Capilano (land must be expensive!). The big box vendors here are Sears and Walmart, with most of the traffic going through Walmart. This mall is a mish-mash of vendors, from a very nice Kin's market, to store like EB Games, The Source, Ming Wo, Bentley, and others to name a few. I also noticed that this small mall has enough big cell phone provider stores, interesting, I guess it is to serve North Vancouver's cellular needs. The foodcourt is actually a pretty good size, harping on large for a mall this size. Food options like Thai, Japanese and other cuisine's are available, with a Tim Horton's, and a Cob's Bread to boot. Also you got a government liquor store for all your boozing ways! This mall actually does have something for everyone, and I guess I'm just too used to the prettier ones I have walked. I guess the only reason why you would come here is if you had a mission, cause Park Royal is not that far away. Definitely standing the test of time, this 'mall' remains. For the average male the stores here tend to favor the ladies and there really isn't all that much other than Sears & Walmart which draws the big crowd. That's about it. read more

we decided to check out this mall because one of bently stores that was in a bigger mall ran out of the luggage we were looking for. Fortunately this Bentley store which didn't have that specific luggage had more selections of other different ones. There were some other small shops, a walmart, sears and a dollar store, so if you're looking for a bargain instead of brand, then this is a nice smaller mall to stroll around and buy what you need since it's not too crowded and not too pricey. read more

The SOURCE Doesn't stand by their products! If I could give a zero star, I would. Computer was literally a week old when the colour went from the screen. No problem, we thought. It's a week old. Should be covered at the store. NOPE. Found some minor scratches on the surface and said it's not re-sellable and therefore we won't honour the return policy. Seriously? It's a week old and clearly has a fault and you won't cover? We now have to deal directly with ACER and they appear to be much more helpful. Crap company, crap service. Strongly suggest you avoid. read more

I quite like this mall. If I lived any closer to it, I might even make this a bi-weekly trend. For now, I come here whenever I can. Normally, I head straight for the Wal-Mart. Of course, I'll also take a look around the mall itself sometimes, like the Sears -- considering the one downtown is gone! Tim Horton's is right there if I need a snack during shopping. There are clothing and shoes shops for all ages. I believe there is an EB Games in there, or it could be another video games shop. There's a kids jungle-gym-type "playland" where you can drop your kids off to play if they don't like shopping. I'm sure you'd have to pay for it, I just don't know how much. There's an Ed's Linens, People's jewellers, and all sorts of other businesses. Conclusion: Good variety of shops/businesses. This mall has something for everyone! read more

I'm a fan of the Wind Mobile Kiosk at the Lynn Valley Mall !!! Helpful, honest, easy-going, and allow the customer to do what they need to do without being pushy. The only thing I would request is to have them identify trainees so that we can realize as customers that they need time to do t he transaction. Phone plans - please include voicemail! There are so many add ons that the price goes from $25 no contract to a high jump for each additional item ie. voicemail. read more

There are no good stores here. Don't come here unless you like Walmart, because that's all they have there, oh and a Sears, but then again why would I go to either of those stores that I don't like?! Point being, don't go here!!!!! read more

Security at the mall has adopted some questionable practices, like posting warnings on your car about time limits on parking WITHOUT marking the stalls or the entrances close by. This was on L2, entering from the Western entrance - NO SINGS on at entrance or stalls. I spoke to the chief of security who just brushed me off by saying if I wanted to avoid that I should park on upper levels of the mall. She also said they were in the process of implementing a policy and signs will be up soon. Well, 4 weeks and counting ... NO SIGNS. read more

I wish I could give this a better review but I really only come here for Walmart, Starbucks or the food court. There just doesn't seem to be a lot of life in the place with stores closing left and right. When I first started coming here after the move, there was life and it was pretty darn vibrant. But over the past year it's gone down hill. Hopefully something can enter the mall and save it. read more

The Rogers store at Capilano mall has horrendous service, that is not unusual for Rogers. But the horrible experience I had at this store made the other Rogers store look only awful. After waiting 45 minutes to be served I was told to leave the store because they would not have time to serve me! read more

Hi I was shopping at one of the stores in Capilano Mall actually it was one of the popups it was called double the love and I was there a week ago and I bought a really nice dress got home found that was too big for me didn't take any of the labels off brought it right back one day later than their policy it was over $100 and I just wanted to do an exchange and they would not let me exchange it I don't think this is fair for any customers and I just want to report how unhappy I am with these two girls that are running this business I think they are very unfair and not thinking of the customer and I would not recommend them ever to anybody and I will never shop there again read more

I arrived at 830pm on a Thursday evening to upgrade my phone which was on the 2nd year of my contract with Rogers. Two sales staff working with 2 customers, I was told they would be with me shortly, 20 min later when one of the sales person finished with the customer they were with the salesperson disappeared out to the back and did not reappear. At 855pm the other salesperson finished with the customer they were with and asked what I needed, when informed I wanted to do an upgrade I was told that I had to return the next day as they were closed and would no longer be able to assist me. I would have no problem if they told me 30 min earlier so I would not have wasted my time. Additionally the attitude of the salesperson was extremely rude. Made my purchase at Costco. read more

The washrooms near Sears were recently renovated, so I took a peek inside the "Mother's Room". Expecting a tiny cramped room, I was amazed to find a large, secluded room with 2 nice big chairs, changing table, microwave, everything a mom needs for some alone time with baby, free from prying eyes - and especially from what's happening these days to nursing moms being harassed. Kudos to Capilano Mall for making such a modern, lovely room for moms. It was so great I had to say something - very rare for me to say something! The only thing missing was a stereo where the moms could choose some appropriate music that baby likes. A million thank yous from all mothers and babies alike. My baby is almost a teen, but I see how things are making headway for moms & babes. read more

In terms of offerings, this mall reminds me a lot of either Lougheed or Brentwood. It's got some convenient staples, like Cobs, Walmart, Dollarama, and the likes so I guess if you live in the area, these are nice to have! There is actually a Vision Electronics here, which is pretty awesome because they are very few and far between (the other one is on Marine Drive in Vancouver). Despite this though, none of these are really that much of a draw here other than for a nice walk if in the area. read more

I had some time to kill before my business meeting that wasn't too far from the mall, therefore, killed some time by browsing. This was one of the stores that I visited the mall. I really had high hopes for this mall. I wasn't expecting it to be mild blowing like Metro or Brentwood but surely the Dollar Store can't be the best thing going for this mall? It was dead inside, most employees looked sad. Although there were 100 stores, I mostly walked passed them and visited less than 10 which was out of boredom than a constructive purpose. There's no more HMV so it's really no point in being in the mall. Most of the revenue and traffic is generated by the Kin's and Wal-Mart. read more

There's not much in this mall, but I have to give props to the Urban Planet they have there. It's awesome, they have a huge selection, and they always have great deals. It beats going all the way out to Metrotown to be in a really crowded and busy mall. My friend and I like to go to Cap Mall because it's quiet and fun to find clothes there. read more

Used Capilano Cobbler for a number of years and was always happy with their work until recently. I took in a pair of much loved boots for new heels and stitching to the inside of one of the boots as the leather had broken down. The vendor said that he was able to meet my request on what I wished to be done. However, the one boot that required the stitching my foot no longer fit inside the boot and have no idea what was done to them and subsequently I was no longer able to wear the boots. After explaining my concerns, the vendor was unapologetic, wasn't prepared to rectify the problem or offer to compensate. He literally turned his back on me and walked away. Suffice to say I will no longer use their services or recommend this business. read more

In the States, I wasn't a big fan of Wal-Mart. But things are so expensive here that I find myself driving from downtown Vancouver, across the Lions Gate Bridge to the Capilano Mall, which houses the nearest Wal-Mart to the city. It's a decent mall, but the biggest plus are the two anchors: Wal-Mart and Sears. It has a Rogers Wireless store, but I can't hold that against the mall. Bought a bed at Sears but am now up to the 5th delivery: 1st delivery tore the box spring, 2nd delivery was a box spring with 2 tears, 3rd delivery had a bashed corner and was the wrong colour, the 4th delivery was the wrong colour, and the 5th delivery sent nothing at all. I phoned the manager after the 4th and he never called back. I complained to their service line and the woman marked my issue urgent but now 4 hours later I have heard nothing. This is the worst buying experience I have ever had. read more
