Out of all the stores in this place, the only ones that's really worth going to visit is probably Walmart and Sears. There are stores like Walmart, Sears, Dollar Giant, EB Games, Urban Planet and they recently opened up a HMV outlet store there in late November as well but closed down after a couple of months later. Those are the only stores that most people would most likely visit. So there might be something worth checking out and many of the store's prices are often fair enough but I would recommend not coming to this particular mall unless if you have a ton of time to kill or if this mall is particularly close. Also, one of the reasons why this place is such a dud in my opinion is because only the 1st floor is used for shopping. They have 4 different floors in this mall but strangely, instead of it being used for shopping, they've used the 2nd to the 4th floor for business offices and a preschool or kindergarten class. The only way they could possibly make this more of a popular mall for the general public would be: 1) adding a few banks into the mall itself. Despite how there's already a few banks nearby but I'm sure some people who is already in the mall doesn't want to go back outside in order to get some money or in order to deal with some bank issues, especially during a bad weather. 2) also consider actually opening up SOME of the spaces on the 2nd, 3rd and 4th floor into a few extra stores that most people would actually want to go visit. 3) Also, adding a movie theater like Metrotown would be another good way to attract more people into the mall though. I believe they were originally thinking about doing it 10 years ago but that idea was scrapped.

You MUST validate your parking at Sungiven Foods for 2-hour free parking, all other stores only validate for 1.5 hours - and I learned this the hard way. It was my first time driving to City Square, and I saw the sign in the parkade that read "Enjoy 2 hours free parking with purchase". I went to Dollarama first, and had my ticket validated there. I shopped around, and Sungiven Foods was one of my last stops before returning to my car. As I was driving out of the parkade, I was surprised that there was an overdue balance of $4.25 at the gate, even though I was in City Square for less than 2 hours (I had a timer on my phone). I called parking assistance and they sent Chandani to deal with the issue. She did not want to listen to my situation and was very rude and unhelpful. She kept insisting I pay for the ticket or go back upstairs to revalidate, and then walked away. I understand she may not have any authority to authorize anything or override the ticket, but she did not bother to listen or try to get help. I checked my timer, and saw that I was cutting it very close to 2 hours, so if I had re-parked my car and went back upstairs to revalidate, I would definitely go over the 2-hour limit. I paid the ticket and checked the website when I got home, and I understand that the City Square regulations states: -90 minutes FREE parking with a minimum $5.00 purchase from City Square retailers. -One retailer stamp per parking ticket allowed. Please bring your parking ticket along with you to the retailer for validation. I am upset because there was no indication (either on the website on signage posted in the mall or parkade) that the retailer stamp HAD to be from Sungiven Foods specifically (and be validated there first) in order to qualify for 2-hour free parking (instead of 90 min). Chandani also gave me the wrong information, and I would not have been able to re-validate at Sungiven foods anyways if I went back upstairs, as only one retailer stamp per parking ticket is allowed (as per the website). I did email the admin at City Square as well with my concerns over the signage, and asked for a possible refund. Chasity from Reception & Administration directed me to Precise Parklink in regards to the ticket refund. I didn't bother contacting Precise Parklink because on paper, I did exceed the 1.5 hour parking limit, but the reason for this is because of the misleading and unclear signage in my opinion.

some shopping trips are about getting in and getting out, but one can easily spend hours at park…read moreroyal. what makes park royal unique is that it's actually two shopping areas, north and south, connected by pedestrian walkways and a short drive. while both sides have plenty of shops, i'm almost always at park royal south. it feels brighter, more modern, and has a great mix of fashion, home, and lifestyle stores. my usual stops include zara, simons, winners, h&m, and osaka supermarket. there's also a cineplex on the south side. wish there was a uniqlo though. just outside the main mall is the village, which has more of an open air shopping feel. you'll find stores like home depot, anthropologie, and michaels, along with whole foods, starbucks, restaurants, and cafés. it's easy to turn a quick shopping trip into a full day affair. one of the things i enjoy most about park royal is that it feels less hectic than some of the larger malls around metro vancouver. the wide walkways, natural light, and open air sections create a more relaxed atmosphere, making it easy to take your time instead of feeling rushed from store to store. parking is plentiful and free, which makes it an easy choice when you want to shop without the usual mall hassle. whether you're picking up everyday essentials, looking for a little retail therapy, or simply need somewhere to spend a rainy afternoon, park royal is my favourite shopping destination on the north shore. often when i go, "i'm just looking," but we all know how that usually ends. maybe that's just part of the park royal experience.

There's Kin's for your produce, Westlynn Bakery for bread, Westlynn Meats & Seafood for fresh fish & specialty meats, a health food store that stocks my fave shampoo, the liquor store (apparently now open until 9pm!), and also the smallest, most inconveniently sized Save On Foods in the world. Luckily, by the time I get to Save On, I've already bought most of what I need, so I don't have to spend too much time in there. Then it's just a quick walk over to the library and my errands are done.

We also found it hard to find a shop where you can find clothing that lasts and is very comfortable. We picked up a couple fleece and shirts here and they survived the wash and are still comfortable weeks later, and they were such a good price, nearly half of what you'd expect. The deals on standard keychains and magnets were also very good so we bought dozens.
