I have driven by this place a thousand times on my way to work, so I never really had enough time to pop in and check it out. Finally, about 3 weeks ago, I stopped in. I was looking for a pick me up and something to turn my frown upside down!! It was one of those days! It's a huge building and it's obvious that the majority of their business comes from special events and such. I was looking for a simple bouquet for my desk! They had an impressive array of flowers and spray. VERY COLORFUL and all of the flowers looked freshly picked!!! I picked out some fuchsia daisies and some yellow pom poms. The price was a bit of a surprise for the amount of flowers that I got, but, having said that, I am on week 3 and they still look like I just picked them out today (with the exception of the small little green leaves on the bunches that of course, started to turn a bit (which is completely understandable) so I am okay with the price! This is the second time I received or sent flowers from Capital City. And I'm not impressed. These flowers were ordered online by my boyfriend two weeks in advance and delivered on Valentines Day. Understandably a busy day when things can be overlooked. The arrangement is beautiful....on one side. On one side is basically all greenery. Great if you put up against a wall but otherwise not so much. I hate calling out a business publicly but no email on website and calling is weird. Nice delivery guy though. read more

Even 4 days in now, they still look incredible. No drooping or wilting. Beautiful flower arrangement, it's really close to what I ordered, but I think it's a little sparse for a Premium price. It looks more like the Standard which is $20 cheaper. I live in San Diego and worked with Michelle from CCF to put together an urn ring and a wreath arrangement for my uncle's funeral. Customer service was outstanding! Ordering arrangements from another state for an important event such as a funeral can be stressful but CCF made the experience very pleasurable. Michelle worked with me from day one to make sure they not only met my expectations but reassured me everything will be perfect, which we all know "perfect" is hard to achieve. I was attracted to them based on their "Richly Remembered" arrangement. She did a great job double checking with the owner/florist Rick to make sure it was achievable. Once that was confirmed I sent them an e-mail of the urn and picture we were using in the funeral as well as the urn ring and wreath arrangements that I would like for them to go off of. One week later, when I arrived in town to pick up the arrangements, I was AMAZED at how both arrangements came out! They were better than the photos I sent! Rick went above and beyond for us not only with the arrangements but he also offered to print the photo out at the shop so we could avoid the shipping charges from California. (The center of the wreath was an old war photo of my late uncle) This team was a big reason why the service was so beautiful and special. We received compliments all day, even at the reception. Please do not use this company for flowers. I ordered something for my wife's birthday and valinetines day. They made two attempts to deliever, my wife was out of the home on the frist day. But after missing her on the second day when she was at home. They advised I should come pick up the order. I deleivered flowers back in the 1990's, and a florist should make at least 2 attempts in a single day (at least we did back when I was doing it). When I advised I had no desire to pick up flowers, to just cancel the order. They advised they were going to charge me the deliever fee. THIS IS NOT A WAY TO WORK WITH THE CUSTOMER. Make a effort to work something out. They were okay with me letting it go, and they put zero effort into fixing this issue. I promise they will not get the fee from me. read more

I was surprised with flowers today from an out-of-state friend. Besides such a nice surprise, the flowers are stunning! It's a combination of coral/yellow roses, yellow orchids and eucalyptus leaves. I received a mixed arrangement of flowers that were so old some started shriveling and dropping petals by the second day, and by day six, the whole lot had to be thrown away including the mums and carnations. Furthermore, this delicate bouquet of pinks, blues and purples were placed in a hideous and clunky brick-red ceramic vase. Ugh, what a rip-off. Spend your money elsewhere. read more

My father's memorial service was held on Feb 15th at Zeyer Funeral Home in Nampa. After doing due diligence on local florists, we chose Capital City Florist to do our 'family' flowers. (Called many different floral shops in both Boise and Nampa, studied their websites, compared costs, and also called several local funeral homes to get recommendations. CCF became the clear choice.) The flowers we ordered from them turned out to be absolutely STUNNING!! Fresh, vibrant, beautifully put together; truly amongst the most spectacular arrangements we had ever seen! And even though there were many other displays from various floral shops there that day, the flowers from CCF were obvious standouts for which we received many compliments. And this, one day after Valentine's Day - probably the busiest day of the year for most florists. Dad was a veteran so we chose standard red/white/blue sympathy arrays that were profiled on numerous florists' websites - 2 very large sprays on easels plus a large matching center floor piece, also a smaller (exquisite!) white bouquet w/Jesus statue - and CCF prices were competitive if not (substantially) less expensive than all of the others. We could not have been more pleased with the flowers they did for us and we highly recommend CCF to anyone ordering flowers for any occasion. Our sincere gratitude to the folks at Capital City Florist for putting so much love and attention into those gorgeous arrangements that distinctly honored my beloved Dad and offered us such comfort these past few difficult days. read more

I live in CA and wanted to order some flowers for a friend that lives in Boise, ID. I called Capital City Florist and every arrangement I saw on the website, they didn't have the flowers in stock. I can understand that - it was linked from Teleflora. What I DON'T understand is the woman answering the phone being completely unhelpful in suggesting other flowers, and seeming annoyed that I kept having her check if they had certain flowers in stock. Understandably busy on Valentine's Day, I called for 45 minutes to a continuous busy signal, then drove the 15 minutes to their location. Asked if I could pick a couple flowers to bring my wife to work they said only sell me their pre arranged vases, which were not what I wanted and $85 or more. I asked for a simple lily and rose. They said they were too busy. I asked politely again and they would not. So I went to Albertsons and they accommodated me nicely, thank you Albertsons. No thank you Capitol City Florist. They had plenty of staff and plenty of flowers in their cooler. My request would have taken less than 5 minutes to fulfill. You would think after making the effort to seek out and physically visit this local shop for a simple two stem flower purchase would not be beyond the scope of their business. I have been using this florist for years and almost on a monthly basis...until today. Today I called at 9am and they refused to be helpful and said they could not delivery anything "specific" today. I ordered flowers to be delivered at the hospital for a beloved family member but put in the wrong date. I mentioned the person's surgery date and time in the notes and scheduled the delivery for what I thought was the next day. The florist caught that the delivery was scheduled for a week later. He called me to clarify, corrected my mistake, didn't charge an additional fee for the earlier delivery, and even offered to call the hospital to see if the delivery could be made a few hours after the surgery.
