The person who I spoke to on the phone - the guy in charge - was a bit difficult to deal with for me because he was talkative and fast. He had given me a quote for the job based on my accurate description of the house. When the other guy came to do the job, he apparently reported back that the house could not be 1880 square feet. So the boss told me that even though the town hall records showed this that we must had put on an addition or we lied to the town hall (not possible because my husband physically built the house and the town building inspector approved every step). Well, these accusations did not go over well with me. Fact is that the house is tall - a dimension that doesn't convey well when described as 1880 foot print and 2 levels split to 4. When the guy finally got to the point - I needed to pay more - he offered a reasonable increase which I had no trouble agreeing to. The other problem was that plants (flowers and herbs) near the house died after the cleaning. I had asked the man cleaning the house if it would be a problem to spray by plants and he assured me no. He would rinse the plants afterwards. Well, several things did die. I would have told him to skip that area.
