They recently won a new buisness award for the Downtown Chamber office. The office is in the east village and has several exam rooms, filled with pre pain exercises and 11th hour help from the Chris the Chiropractor. Attention anyone with a SPORTS injury! I had a deep sports injury to my upper left adductor muscle/tendon area. I was unable to swing my leg over the edge of my bed to get up in the mornings and was barley able to walk (or lift my leg to put on a pair of jeans...you get the picture). Now, I know what you're thinking; obviously Chris has paid me to write a great review for him because I'm so witty and clever, but sadly this is not the case! As someone who has had good and bad experiences with Chiropractors, it was extremely important that I found someone who helped me RECOVER. Yes, recover. Here's my story: I recently started a new job, where my desk chair and I are one-in-the same. She and I get along until about 11:15 am everyday and then she turns into a total pain in my neck! Chris must moonlight as a dentist, because his teeth were impeccable. As I shuffled my 98 year-old body back to the exam room, I realized that this Dr. LoRang wasn't just a mouth full of perfect teeth; he was the guy that was going to make me 28-years old again! During our discussion, I found out that a central tenet of the McKenzie Method is that self-healing and self-treatment are important for the patient's pain relief and rehabilitation. No passive modalities - such as heat, cold, ultrasound, medicine, or needles - are used in this method of treatment. The long-term goal of the McKenzie Method is to teach patients suffering from neck pain and/or back pain how to treat themselves and manage their own pain for life using exercise and other strategies. Chris explained that his initial adjustment would offer instant relief and realignment, but that he would also teach me a set of exercises that would; 1. Reduce pain quickly 2. Help to return me to my normal daily activities 3. Minimize the risk of any recurring pain 4.
