As a result, I had to make last minute back-up plans and go on a local gambling boat out of SC. Overall, I rate this company as a 1 out of 5, based on poor communication, insufficient customer service and honestly they didn't seem to care about getting me on this junket and/or make alternative plans. Our guide, Sean, was fantastic from start to finish. Before the trip even began, he was extremely communicative with my friend who made the reservation, ensuring we knew exactly where to meet, what to bring, and what to expect. As someone who appreciates clear logistics while traveling, this was greatly appreciated. Upon arrival, we met our fellow paddlers, many of whom were fellow National Park enthusiasts visiting Congaree for the first time. Everyone was friendly, excited to be there, and Sean helped create a welcoming atmosphere before we even launched our canoes. For a little context: I am absolutely terrified of snakes. In fact, during my first visit to Congaree a couple of years ago, I considered doing a canoe trip but ultimately chickened out because I couldn't stop thinking about my slithery nemeses lurking nearby. This time, I decided to be brave. While several members of our group did spot snakes along Cedar Creek, everyone was incredibly understanding of my fears. When one was spotted, my canoe companion and guide were kind enough to help turn our canoe so I didn't have to see it. It may sound silly, but it made a huge difference and allowed me to actually enjoy the experience rather than spend the entire trip anxiously scanning the shoreline. And enjoy it I did! Paddling Cedar Creek was really scenic and surprisingly relaxing. Between the reflections on the water and the towering trees at times, I felt like I was in a scene from The Notebook. If you're visiting Congaree National Park, I highly recommend adding a paddle trip with Palmetto Outdoor to your itinerary. Great communication, great guide, great group, and a fantastic way to experience part of the park that most visitors never do!

The paddle was leisurely and Andy had a lot of good information about the park's history and ecology. He takes care of all the setup so you don't have to drag a canoe at any point. The cost was a good value for the experience. I would recommend it to anyone looking to visit.

It's a walking tour lasting about 3-3 1/2 hours, so make sure you wear comfortable clothes and shoes. Just a heads up: if you're a picky eater or have food allergies, this tour may not be for you. Or if you have bad legs and can't stand or walk for long periods of time then it's definitely not for you. ‍ They don't accommodate substitutions and the food is pre-selected by each restaurant. I went by myself and still had a great time. I met some awesome people in my group, and the tour guide did an amazing job! Definitely worth checking out if you want a fun, social, and different experience in Columbia. I'll definitely be going back and actually eat at some of the restaurants that were featured on the tour!!

We used Southern Shuttles for our wedding transportation for our guests from our hotel in downtown…read moreColumbia to our venue near Lake Murray. We had about 80% of our people traveling from out of town and planning logistics was proving to be extra stressful. When I called and spoke with Kristy she put me at ease. She explained several options for getting our guests across town...during rush hour....on a Friday. I felt at ease after our conversation and was pleased with the pricing. Kristy and I chatted again about a week or so before the big day and she had me at ease. We had 2 shuttles booked and they were able to get me and my gals to the venue while the other shuttle went to pick up the gentlemen across town. One shuttle headed downtown to get a group of family members and bring them back to the venue earlier than the rest of the guests. Both shuttles then headed back downtown to pick up our guests at the hotel. (They were dropped off right on schedule at the venue.) The day of Kristy sent me her personal number, as well as the drivers names and numbers. I felt very well taken care of and much less worried about everyone arriving on time. Our driver arrived about 15 minutes early! We had plenty of time to get our stuff together and get on the bus, no rush! Both drivers were extremely professional. They even indulged us with playing music we requested on the radio. Both shuttles were extremely clean as well. The was a minor snafu in our timeline at the venue, but the drivers made sure we were picked up and taken to our hotel at the end of the night. I HIGHLY recommend southern shuttles for your transportation needs!
