This place did a good job with my suit and shirts at a reasonable price. Getting my wife's dresses cleaned was pretty pricey though.

The owner recommended Georgetown Valet at this location, and so far I've been more than pleased. The woman that does the alterations is phenomenal. My alterations are normally complex, but the turnaround time is impressive. My dry cleaning experience has been okay, but again I'm overall pleased with their service, professionalism, and attention to detail.

He viewed the video and from my angle on the opposite side of the counter I could not see it and he refused my request to move the screen closer. I don't know why they would remove the buttons, maybe it was to press the shirt, but they could have looked for them and returned them without incident and full understanding on my part if they did not lie about the video evidence. Luckily my tailor provide several extra buttons and I had them with me. I am still a few short, but not satisfied with the poor customer service from the man who I dealt with. I did thank the woman for her assistance, so I am not the only one who lost their temper. The man is bad for business. I won't return and I will continue to promote this review. All I did was drop off a brand new 5 piece suit with formal shirt with black buttons to be pressed before my daughter's wedding. I picked it up the same day paid over 42 dollars and the next morning when I pulled it out to wear the shirt was the wrong shirt or if it was the black buttons were gone. I called and the owner says bring it back we have a camera. He then says it's the same shirt I brought in. He pointed to the camera screen and watched it 3 times claiming the black buttons were not on shirt when I brought it and he told me to leave. I told him to show me the buttons on video, he would not and then he got aggressive came from behind counter to intimidate into leaving. I told him I needed his name and he refused. A woman came out and I should her the spare buttons my tailor provided and she put them on over the existing buttons. This business is shaky to say least. Go somewhere else if you need any dry cleaning or pressing services. The owner lies and can't be trusted. The owner rebutted my previous post but failed to mention that they would not show me the video in spite of my asking several times to bring it into my view. If there is video evidence, PROVIDE it.

They are family operated but Kim is usually working the front desk 6 days a week, She always greets you with a smile and is ready to help any way she can. For regular clothing related services you can expect your clothes back quickly. My wife's shoe came back in less than a week as good as new. They will also work with you if you have time constraints or special requests. I have tried a few other places in the area and the thing that separates Capitol Hill Cleaners is consistent professional service. They always deliver on what they promise. Kim and her husband have been in Eastern Market for quite a while. They are right next to the Market and are part of the fabric of the area. You can expect excellent service, friendly interactions and a fair price.

I thought I would have to throw them all away and it would be a lost cause. I came back to pick them up today and couldn't believe how clean and brand new they looked. I still feel like they had to have gone out and bought the same shirts, couldn't believe it was possible to recover them. Moreso, I was charged the same price I'm normally charged even thought they were so much dirtier. I don't have many dress shirts so I go here once every week and they have been so nice and the shirts have come back perfect every time. Highly recommend this place right by the Eastern Market Metro Station!

By this conversation you know this is a laundry family, the place to be if you need a laundromat. There is a guy here that is probably somebody's grandpa (does he have butterscotch in his pocket?) that was the attendant. He mopped up quickly, he told me it was going to take no less than 30 minutes of drying on low (very true). He was running the place efficiently. It was clean, 90% operable and in a good neighborhood. Although small and they don't take credit cards I will come back if my "Honey Do List" takes me worldwide and back to DC.

Just got off the phone with "customer…read moreservice" and their solution is for me to file a claim where I send them pictures of my missing items. I don't know about you, but I don't have pictures of my socks and bras. And I don't make it a habit of taking pictures of the clothes in my hamper. When pressed, she said the company has photos they can use to find my items. If a representative bothers to respond to this review, don't believe anything they have to say about this being an anomaly. My clothes were delivered last night, yet when I texted customer service about my missing items, I got this form response: "Hi Crystal - I'm so sorry to hear about the issue with your order. To help us assess and resolve quickly, we'll need a bit more information. If your order was delivered in the last 14 days, please complete our simple claims form here: www.rinse.com/customers/claim. Please include: 1) Photos of the items 2) A link to where the item (or comparable) can be purchased online. If it has been more than 14 days, you can send this information here and we'll open a claim for you. Thank you - we're here to help." So you lose people's clothes often enough to have a canned response ready??? Do NOT use these people. I don't know where to begin replacing these items. I'm so glad I didn't let them dry clean my custom-made items. My next stop is the Better Business Bureau. Rinse should not be in business. Shame on you.

Neighbors has it's good points and its bad points: 1. The laundromat: Very bad. The major drag on the star rating above. The machines are unreliable (usually an average of three are non-functioning) and not as large as you would expect from a laundromat. The room they're in is always hot (that's to be expected in an older building) and appears to be quite dirty. Some of the workers there (who aren't around all the time) are a bit of a nuisance, but completely harmless. 2. The dry cleaning: never had a problem with an item and she even hemmed the sleeves of a suit jacket for me and it came out great. She's also quite sweet about getting things back to me if I've accidentally dropped it off late and need it in a couple of days. 3. Wash-dry-fold: perhaps the greatest invention known to man. I can't stand doing laundry and having it cleaned and ready to go in 2-3 days for a fair price and virtually no work on my part is an expense I'm willing to spend. Don't take your jeans there though, because they tend to wash everything very hot and some things come back just a skoch smaller than what they went in. Overall Neighbor's Cleaners has left a few things to be desired, but their strong points are relatively strong and make up for it. The good service on dry cleaning and laundry service paired with the convenient location makes it my one-stop laundry depot of choice.

Avoid at all costs. They will destroy your clothing…read more Had not used this dry cleaner for about eight years after they ruined a garment of mine. I recently tried them again and deeply regret it. I'm in literal tears. They absolutely destroyed a BRAND NEW very expensive dress. It came back with a tag on the hanger advising that they were not able to remove spots without harming the garment. I thought, "What spots???" I had only worn the dress twice and I only decided to clean it because I was going to store it for winter. It wasn't dirty and it didn't have any "spots" when I brought it in for "cleaning." Tears welled in my eyes as I examined my beautiful floor length dress. There were blue splotches all over the garment, the bodice the back of the skirt, the collar. I tried it on and found that it no longer gently swept the floor as I walked. They shrank the dress and now the skirt is three inches higher and sleeves are too short to button. They are clothing destroyers. I would not recommend this place to my worst enemy.

Where do I even start with The Press DC? If you're looking for a place to wreck your clothes rather…read morethan clean them, look no further. I dropped off my girlfriend's favorite red blazer, a gorgeous (and not cheap!) leather jacket, and a comfy sweater. All three came back looking like they survived some apocalyptic fashion showdown. Leather Jacket: Once sleek and stylish, now it's literally flaking off like it lost a fight with a cheese grater. Red Blazer: Perfect if you want random splotches and stains as a new design aesthetic. (Spoiler alert: We didn't.) Sweater: Ever seen those horror movies with mysterious stains? Pretty sure they drew inspiration from whatever got splattered on this poor sweater. The real kicker? No one from The Press DC bothered to say, "Hey, heads up, we're absolutely annihilating your garments. Maybe you should come pick them up before we do more damage!" Instead, I got them back ruined--and with zero explanation. I guess common courtesy isn't part of their business model. Look, I get that mistakes happen, but what really sets me off is the total lack of communication. A quick phone call, email, carrier pigeon, something--just to say, "We've got a little problem here," would've been the bare minimum. Now I'm out some once-beautiful pieces and the money I paid to have them "cleaned." Spoiler: I'm demanding a refund because, at this point, that's the least they could do. The entire experience was so ridiculously bad that it's almost funny--except it's my girlfriend's clothes on the line, so it's not exactly the kind of "fun" we're looking for. Long story short: If you value your wardrobe (or your relationship, because who wants to explain this mess to their partner?), do yourself a favor and avoid The Press DC like the plague. It's not the end of the world, but holy crap--my clothes aren't supposed to come back looking worse than when they left. 1 star (and that's me being generous). Never. Going. Back. Here. Again.
