It's on par for pricing with other cleaners, but I was given the wrong impression on pricing when I called them. I don't think this was on purpose, like I said seems like nice people. I paid close to $9.00 to have 1 short dry cleaned with stains around the collar neck. I was a little disappointed that the stains didn't completely come out. I could still see a faint stain around the collar.

This is our dry cleaning spot but we also have used them for wash and fold, tailoring, and even fixing the heel on my wife's favorite shoes. For regular clothing related services you can expect your clothes back quickly. My wife's shoe came back in less than a week as good as new. They will also work with you if you have time constraints or special requests. I have tried a few other places in the area and the thing that separates Capitol Hill Cleaners is consistent professional service. They always deliver on what they promise. Kim and her husband have been in Eastern Market for quite a while. They are right next to the Market and are part of the fabric of the area. Not only are they affordable, they're GOOD. They get done exactly what they say they will get done, the garments look fantastic, and it's truly professional. Now I will say this, and this is a POSITIVE. They are realistic about their ability to help you and their timeline. A gentleman walked in with a garment that was basically unsaveable while I was there and they said, "Hey, we will do the best we can, but we can't guarantee it." They are truthful and honest. That's not something you get from very many businesses these days. I would recommend them over anyone in the Navy Yard/Wharf area, and I've been to a few dry cleaners out here. When I showed her where the alteration they made caused a fabric pucker near it, she just kept repeating: "We did not touch that! We did not touch that!" and would not accept any responsibility for the new issue, nor did she offer a solution or refund. I will never return. She clearly tries to get as much as she can from customers for jobs that have no pre-defined pricing structure and does not show any interest in solving customer complaints.

When I picked up my clothes and asked why my bill was so high, the employee immediately said it was because I had "luxury" brands. She specifically pointed out brands like Sandro, Versace, and Dolce & Gabbana and explained that they charge more depending on how expensive the clothing brand is. My receipt even had every brand listed. If you're going to price cleaning based on the brand on the tag, that needs to be clearly disclosed before you take someone's clothes. On top of that, half of my clothes were still crushed and wrinkled when I got them back. Charging premium prices while returning wrinkled clothes is unacceptable. The plus I have damaged clothes.

Mr. Kim is fantastic! He did such a lovely job with my bridesmaids dress. He hemmed it exactly how I wanted, and the stitching was so perfect and clean. The price was reasonable and fair. His shop does smell a bit of cats and cigarettes when you walk in. I was mentally prepared to take my dress to the dry cleaner's after it was finished, however, I think he keeps garments well wrapped, because when I brought it home there was no smell at all. That could just be due to the fabric of my dress, but all to say, it posed no issue for me. Will definitely be back!

None of these orders were rushed but he can for extra $!
