The service call only resulted in the conclusion that we had to shop for a faucet. We had a friendly discussion with the service guy, Nate, so much so that most of the hour charged to us was discussion about family, etc. What he failed to tell us is that we would be charged $2.00 for every minute of friendly discussion!! If he had told us that, then we would have greatly reduced our personal chit-chat! Then when I called to have our bill reduced, they said we had to pay the full amount of $260! I do not mind the $100 for the service call and maybe ~ 10 paid minutes it took to say we need a new faucet, but I DO MIND paying 50 minutes X $2.00/minute = $100 for a friendly discussion!! Had an issue with a leaking kitchen sink, they were were able fix the botched plumbing very quickly. No further issues over a year later!

I have used them in the past and they were great. I called to have a leaking Moen shower valve cartridge replaced and told them I could only have them work on Tuesday or Thursday. They said they will have some cartridges on the truck and if they don't have them they will run out and get them. They gave me a 4 hour window on Tuesday to work with. They called 3 hours into the window saying they would take a picture of the valve and replace it tomorrow. Wednesday. When I cannot do it. I could have rescheduled for Thursday, but I decided to cancel and give someone else a try. Hopefully someone who values their customer's time better. read more

Chuck showed up on time as promised, was very friendly and personable, and was in and out in no time, installing my Wi-Fi safety shutoff valve in under an hour. As far as the business is concerned -- of all I contacted, Monona was the most responsive, the most in depth, and fairly significantly the best value, and they asked about mask preferences ahead of time (which were adhered to!), which is not something I have experienced with other contractors. My landlord hired them to fix a plumbing issue in our apartment. The men who came wouldn't even speak to us, completely ignored my three year old and made him cry. They used one of my wash clothes without asking and threw it in the trash when they were done. They left metal pieces in my bathtub and didn't clean up after themselves and melted one of my shampoo bottles during their work. I would never recommend this company. read more

If you are looking for a competent plumber who is VERY expensive with no room for negotiation try Monona Plumbing. I say this because we've needed to hire plumbers three times over the last year. Of the three Monona was hired to do the least amount of work, (installing two turn off valves and replacing two hoses to resolve a slow drip) and charged us nearly as much as a competitor charged for much more (installing two outside spigots and reconnecting ALL of the items for our kitchen sink following a new remodel). The third company we hired did more work than those two did combined and for what was done that company's bill was very reasonable. Yes Monona was able to get to our job sooner than some the other companies, but did we pay for it! I guess it just shows that you should get some estimates before you hire your plumber! read more

Terrible experience with this company and the plumber. He was very rude and condescending to my wife and they overcharged us so much money. Then, when we tried to talk to somebody at the company about our issues, they would never call us back! I do not recommend this company. We needed a water heater replacement and after much searching decided on Monona Plumbing. (they are not in Monona) The phone person I talked to was professional and knew his products and they service what they sell was the two main reasons I went with them. Price wise they were a little higher then some but as the old saying goes, you get what you pay for. The plumber who installed it was on time and got the job done quickly and the install looks very nice. No messy solder joints like some installers do. This shop has lots of employees and is quite big so there wasn't a long wait. Give them a shot if you need any plumbing job done. read more

They came out quickly to fix a long time kitchen sink problem that moved had become an emergency (to me, anyway). In the course of the repair, my toilet got scratched from the rotor, which is a rare occurrence. Their response exceeded my expectations and I was very impressed. We had Monona Plumbing over to fix a toilet that was not working correctly. But I asked if he could answer some questions and he was happy to do it. I wanted to get an opinion on our tub hardware that we had replaced back 12 years ago. We were missing the stopper piece and all the hardware did not look good even though they were pretty new. So he wanted to look at the water softener since he did not think it was working. He took one look at it and said the water softener stopped working 10-15 years ago. A few days later he installed new hardware for the tub and today replaced the water softener. It went super quick! He told me what to use to clean the hard water stains /damage and how to get a free replacement piece for our Koehler faucet. Luke was a great person to work with and super knowledgeable. I was impressed he was wondering why we were having hard water damage. Highly recommend! read more

We have used Monona several times - they are easy to schedule with (and are able to come early in the morning so as not to disrupt the workday) and efficient. We've had them replace a leaky faucet and fix a slow floor drain. They take the time to explain what they're investigating so you as the customer can get up to speed on the tools you'd need for a DIY fix next time, or help better explain what the issue might be next time they are needed. They could potentially be more transparent in pricing after the job is done - I don't know what the hourly rate is. read more

I'm pretty sure Evan took that as a challenge because he didn't stop trying things to fix it and it ended up being because of warped piping in the attic! Have had two different plumbers out to our house in the past few days. Both were excellent, well spoken and showed us everything we needed to know. They put in new fittings for our new shower, moved the shower head up 12 inches, helped remove dishwasher and added gas line to stove to replace electric stove. Came back right away when we called about smelling gas. Checked all their work from the gas in line to the stove itself. Resolved that the stove must be the issue, not the new line or valve. Would recommend to anyone. read more
