My go to home store when at the lake. Good service, friendly folks and they seem to have everything!

Went in for a pair of door knob's and left with door knobs and a great set of steps for my pier. The entire experience was amazing. The two gentlemen that assisted me with my purchase went above and beyond. They knew I was going to install them on my pier 250 miles away so they were very meticulous when rounding up all the parts needed. They were very friendly and courteous I'm a DIY kind of guy so I have a lot of experience with hardware stores but not one of them could hold a candle to the customer service I received at this store. Representatives are great in all departments except Contractors/Pro department. We contacted them to estimate cost of deck materials with the manufacturer. Got a couple of calls back from Dave and Travis with promises to update us soon. Then never heard back. Super unprofessional. Take your money and time elsewhere. read more

This is the best home/hardware store I've ever been to. Honestly. Every single member of the staff is wildly helpful. They're so knowledgeable about so much. I come here a lot since we just bought our home and it needs some work. Anytime I'm in there, I can easily find someone who knows just how to help. Capps is an awesome store. It has a little bit of everything. You can get gardening supplies, while trying on cool dock shoes. The employees are friendly. You can get your keys copied while you look at expensive Yeti cups and coolers. There is a little bit of something for everyone at this store. read more

For large projects, go elsewhere. We did a major house renovation and addition a few years back and our contractor used Capps for most/all of his building supplies, so recommended them for cabinetry and windows/doors, etc. We contacted a few other places about cabinets, but the response was slow, so we went with Capps. First of all, the communication with employees at Capps is sometimes a nightmare. The guy that was initially in charge of our windows and doors (John) was nearly impossible to get in touch with for questions, so we eventually had to rely on another woman to finish our door order and answer questions. We did custom kitchen, bathroom, and laundry cabinets. There were a few hiccups along the way with the kitchen design and it was obvious there wasn't much time spent on designing our kitchen cabinet layout. My biggest beef though, is with the quality of the kitchen cabinets. After a year and a half of normal use, the paint on the cabinet doors and drawers is chipped and scratched in many, many places. I'm wondering what our cabinets are going to look like after 5 or 10 years of use?! Not what I was hoping for after spending $30k on custom cabinets. Oh, and lest I forget the tile installers they sent out. They were using grout that was thinner than gravy. He had to come out and re-grout several large spots that were missed. Then, knowingly filled spots with the wrong color grout!! I still sit in my bathtub and look at holes in the grout. If you MUST use Capps, get a warranty on the cabinets and avoid their tile installers if at all possible. read more

Super helpful staff - Rolf is the man! And the rest of the staff are great as well. Selection is excellent, but understand they aren't as big as a Lowes or Home Depot, but I can get 96% of what I need there. Prices do vary a bit - Most things are priced in line with the convenience and service you get. My only real criticism is I wish they had longer hours! read more

Went to Capp's today to buy an icemaker box valve and they're price was $60.00. My contractor husband new that was an over the top markup and made the drive down to HD where he purchased it for $12.00. We are big into supporting small businesses but this is outrageous and inexcusable. We will pass on Capp's for this reason now. Too bad.......... read more
