This place gives terrible haircuts. Do not go here if you want a quality haircut. This is not just "probably," but it is the worst haircut my son has ever had. I'm so upset right now. I sent him and his dad in for a cut and both came out butchered. My husband's head is blotchy... it's not well faded at all. My son's cut looks ridiculous, the right side doesn't even match with the left, the left side is edged up round at the side and the right side looks like stairs steps.. Terrible! I went with my boys to take a haircut. The woman was not wearing a mask at all. They are so rude with the clients. The bill was 36$, and I gave 15% of the total bill as tip, but the woman though that it was not enough for her and told me... "is it your tip? " and she said very angry ... ok... bye! If you want more tip please be nice to the clients and write on the door that it's mandatory to give at least 20% tip. read more

I stopped here looking for a barber in the area. The first thing you notice is the COVID -19 precautions. Barbers are wearing masks and there is limited sitting for those waiting. It's all by appointment only anyway. The place looks comfortable with leather seating and I was welcomed immediately as a new customer. I've gone to new barbers and it takes several times before they get it just right. But at Capps my barber got it right the first time. An excellent cut and great conversations about the military the news. They have a monthly program special that makes sense if you cut at least twice a month like I do. Unlimited cuts and edges for less than the price of two cuts. For an X military guy like me that cuts at least every 10-days or so it's a savings! She addressed my concerns with professionalism and patience. This place is terrible! This is a nice, no frills barbershop. They're local, it's usually pretty easy to get an appointment, and the barbers are almost always very experienced. The main drawback I see is there is a lot of turnover in their staff. This might just be a common occurrence with barber shops in general, though. read more

This place gives a decent haircut, but not consistent service all-around. The first time I was there, I heard talk of a program they were running for "unlimited shaves and haircuts" for a certain price per month. However, they were talking in front of other customers about how they were going to get rid of this program and limit the number per month, because "people are taking advantage of it too much." I was unaware of what special monthly deals they had, as they weren't offered when I arrived. However, I will say that even if my facts are a bit off (maybe I don't remember the conversation 100% correctly?), they were still discussing something that is disconcerting for customers. The haircut I got that day was decent, but it was far better than the next one I got... because I didn't get one at all. I called on a Thursday and asked their hours and if they had any appointments open for that same day. The reply was "We don't, but just come on down and if all you need is a quick haircut, we'll fit you in between customers." That sounded great, since all I needed was a quick trim. I drove halfway across town to get there only to be told that they weren't accepting walk-ins because it was nearly time to close. It was 1 HOUR before closing, and the last haircut I got there took all of 10-15 min, with much longer hair. Luckily I had a friend nearby in the hospital to visit, and had planned to make this part of my trip across town. Had I just gone over there for the haircut, I would have been LIVID. I didn't cause a scene and just walked out. It is important to note: I wish I had made an appointment earlier in the week, and maybe I'm partly to blame for procrastination. However, I was told I didn't need one, I did call ahead to double-check whether I would need one or not, and I was turned away without much courtesy at all. Several days later I have decided to post this review so that others will know that it is best to make an appointment and not trust what the receptionist says. Also, make sure you get your money's worth and don't go in for "just a trim." The prices here are well above what you would get at some dinky chain haircut joint, and the quality of haircut isn't much better. I didn't get a shave here, but if I wanted a full service shave and haircut, I would go down to Floyd's in Winter Park. If you rock a beard look elsewhere. The haircut was good. I liked that they do a free shampoo and the girl doing my cut knew what she was doing. My beef was with the beard trim. It's 7.50 ,which is about 50% more than I'm used to paying at most. Secondly, she did not use a razor to leave a crisp like but instead used her trimmer. I could honestly have done what she did myself. Also did not do a great job with trimming upper lip hair or cleaning up hair around lower lip. I would love to take advantage of the 35 unlimited haircuts but I'm not paying 7.50 every time for a mediocre beard trim. My advice: stick to a normal barbershop. read more

I've been a member at Capp's for almost six years now, and I've been going in almost weekly for a shave and a haircut. I can't imagine not being a member, as it's one of the best experiences of my week. It's relaxing, comforting, and worth every penny. There's no better sensation for a man (other than the obvious) than having a hot towel wrapped around your face as your hair gets cut, your face gets shaved, you get a mini-massage, and get pampered. I can't recommend Capp's enough - it's one of the highlights of my week and I look forward to it every seven days. read more

Two wildly different experiences here. In my last visit the barber was Judy who gave me an amazing beard trim and neck shave. In this visit the woman who helped me, Dahlia, was clumsy and shaped my mustache unevenly so that one side was thin and the other thick. She completed my neck shave with a standard Gillette style razor instead of a straight razor and then left spots unshaved so I looked like a sloppy mess. Judy is the manager and I expressed my dissatisfaction and she stepped in to help. She fixed all the mistakes Dahlia made so that I left looking good and feeling happy be careful to avoid Dahlia if you're getting a shave! read more

Went to the location on Thursday evening and to their point it was late maybe around 6:45 and I asked her about a walk in cut and she said "oh I can't because we close at 7." Mind you I only asked about a walk in cut because the big sign out front says now taking walkins. So I go back the next day Friday on my lunch hour and ask about a walk in and then she tells me they only do appointments. I ask her about the sign out front and she says that was before COVID 19. My son and I were a walk in. I was quoted 30 minutes to be fit in between appointments. After an hour and a half, we got up and left. No one checked on us, no one told us it would be longer, regulars (appointments) just kept coming in the door and being taken. I understand if you are completely booked, but communicate with your customer, do not let us sit there for 90 minutes waiting. It's a true barbershop. They have a great set of monthly membership plans that are fairly priced. I saw a negative comment on here about needing an appointment. Obviously you need an appointment. It's a barber shop. This isn't great clips which will gladly fit you in and jack your hair up. All the barbers are good. Matt and Judy cut my hair all the time. Been going here for more than a year. The staff are friendly, attentive and accommodating. The shop is clean well lit. There's free coffee or a beer while you wait as well as wi-fi. This is set up to be a throw-back to the old men's barber shop like I knew as a young kid and seemed to have disappeared by the '80s. The memberships can be a nice cost savings if you have children under the age of 13...their haircuts are included in the price of membership. A note to Adam S. regarding memberships: The pricing is prominently posted at the reception desk (where you check in as well as pay for your services). I truly would urge you to avoid this place at all cost. First off, you need to make an appointment and be prepared to not been seen for up to 30 minutes past your appointment time. Second, if you walk in without an appointment, expect to be treated like you are not welcomed, your services will be rushed and they will consistently complain about their lunch breaks and about each other. Third, if you sign up for their monthly service and need to cancel, you must stand over them and watch them do it. Also you need to verbally call them and write them to cancel that membership. It was explained to me that after I had signed up that they will pull from your card regardless if you come or not, just like a gym membership. They will also expect you to pay for missed months, regardless if you showed up. Be prepared for them to discuss your business in front of the whole shop instead of in a room or even calling you. They will shame you as much as possible and make sure everyone knows exactly what you paid or what you may still owe. Expect that your barber may not be there the next time you go in due to a high rate of turnover that they experience. Not sure who the owner is, where they are headquartered or if they even exist. Did I mention that they will spend a fair amount of time complaining about their lunch breaks and each other? Avoid at all cost. Here's the short of it. I made an appointment at around noon today for a haircut and beard trim at 3:30pm. I show up slightly earlier, say 3:25. The younger of the two women there tells me she'll be with me "in a minute"...so I take a seat and patiently wait my turn. 3:35 rolls around, and the woman who acknowledged my arrival, is chatting with her customer and is cutting his hair. I sort of expect that she'll tell me it'll be another few minutes or so, but she says nothing to me and continues to trim the guys hair ahead of me. 3:40...still no "I'm sorry I'm running late" and she continues to trim the guys hair ahead of me. 3:45...same. 3:50...same. At 3:52, I exited Capps. My advice to the staff at Capps...If you're running late, let your customer know and give them an estimate of when you're going to be able to get to them. Don't let your customer sit there for 22 minutes past their appointment time and say nothing. Perhaps customer service training is in order...especially in light of some of the other not so complimentary comments posted here. read more

Worked me in to schedule as a walk in. Great cut. Asked what the wanted and cut as asked. Stylist was knowledgeable and quick.

They cut your hair just the way you ask them to and their prices are the best around. My biggest fear is having my bangs cut too short, since I don't have the money to go for botox. Never have to worry about that at Capps. read more

I was customer of Maggie's at Capps for almost a decade. Sad to say she is no longer their. I tried to be patient with the shop in their transition. I am now experiencing many of the same posts I see on here. I called to see if could cancel my membership. The gal who answered the phone was not sure and she would contact the owner Cory. No one seemed concerned or asked why I wanted to cancel. I followed up the next day on Wednesday and Judy told me I don't see why not. She just needed to check with Cory. I called again on Friday, was told Cory would not be in until Monday. I was frustrated that know one let me know this and I expressed some frustration. I then had to follow up with a call on Monday. Then told me they do not issue refunds and hung up on me. Never going back!! read more
