The most recent reviews are from quite a bit ago, so here's something a bit more recent! I don't really leave reviews, but this place was great and I felt like I had to. Earlier today I came in and wasn't sure what drink to order, and the owner (I assume) was super kind even though I was walking in 15 minutes before close--he asked me if I was thinking maybe something cold and caffeinated (it was a hot day! In the 80°F-90°F range!), to which I said yes. Then he asked if a latte might sound good, to which I said yes again, and asked if they had any flavors--he listed each one, and I chose mint. It was great! I'm not really well-versed in coffee, but I am well-versed in deciding if things taste great, and this mint latte was one of the best tasting lattes I've had anywhere (I'm from Queens and go to a LOT of cafes). He also mentioned they had Caribbean food; today was jerk chicken and curry chicken, and there was also rice and beans as well as plantains. I asked for the jerk chicken and plantains, and he gave me a huge box of all of the above because I mentioned I was super hungry. The owner was very kind and conversational, and service was quick and professional. Also in the cafe was a group who said they were a chess club. They told me they meet on Thursdays and Saturdays at 6:00P.M. in Capresso. I haven't played much chess before, and they said they also teach! They were all also very kind. Overall, Capresso is a super cute cafe and the food and drink I ordered were amazing. I finished the latte really quickly because it was so good. I'm definitely planning to go back. read more

Stopped by on our way through town - while it doesn't appear to be much, the drinks and food were fantastic. The show white hot chocolate was very unique and frothy and the iced latte was AMAZING. We got the gallo sandwich and while relatively small, the dressing and flavor combinations really bring it together nicely. Only thing missing was the ambiance - dead silent but great seating area. Would be a great place to work/study. read more

I really like this spot. Not sure if things have changed due to covid for indoor seating, but the inside is cozy and perfect to sip your coffee and eat your breakfast. They have really cool recipes/ varieties for their drinks. Just walking in you're more peaceful. The employees are very mellow and helpful with suggesting products. They also sell really good jerk chicken/ ox tail/ plantains, every once in a while outside the store front and that's fantastic. read more

Hands down, this is the BEST and most ADORABLE little coffee shop I've ever been to! And I'm a sucker for little cafes, so I've been to enough to compare. Let's start with the vibe of the place. You walk in to the cafe, and there are comfy couches and chairs placed around tables throughout the room. There are great decorations that add to the charm, like a display of specially flavored syrup and the tea they use for chai. There's happy music playing. All of this works together, creating the PERFECT cozy spot for studying, hanging out, grabbing a snack, everything. The food and drinks are outstanding! Best coffee and tea I've had. It's great quality, and what makes the drinks even more special is that there are a ton of flavors you can add! You can do combinations too, such as snickers. So far I've tried an iced coffee with caramel, iced coffee with white chocolate and pistachio (which was the most incredible drink I've ever had, and was recommended by the barista himself), snickers iced coffee, and mango chai latte. All of them were amazing. I also got the ham and cheese croissant (twice, lol) which was toasted to buttery perfection with the cheese deliciously melted onto the ham inside. And there's still so much more I want to try, like the Italian cream soda, the special hot chocolates, root beer floats, and more! The service is wonderful as well! The barista is super nice and friendly. And he made the best drinks and recommendations both times I've been here. This is my most favorite cafe in the world, and I'm so excited to have tried it! It makes me sad that I'm only here visiting, otherwise I'd be here all. The. Time. Someone told me that Oneonta is a college town - students if you're reading this, COME HERE TO THIS CAFE!!! I'm only here this week for a nearby baseball tournament, but I would honestly visit Oneonta in the future just for this cafe. And that's saying a lot, since I'm from the West coast. Don't be fooled by the cases and displays of sweet treats - candy apples, cupcakes, chocolate dipped pretzels, pastries, and elephant ears. If the buy one, get one free Halloween cupcakes I got are any indicator, they could be stale. Spooky! ... And hardly chewable. Free wifi, an extensive drink list, and sandwich menu can be found here too. The grilled chicken salad was surprisingly good and came with some delicious dressing that tasted of teriyaki, eggs, and a little ginger. Cash only, but there's an ATM in here. read more

We are there this am. Only 2 people working so service is slow. Bagels they use are Thomas's so not great. They never gave us our coffee and then complained they were in the back looking for the napkins we asked for! Like it was an inconvenience to ask for a darn napkin! They took so long we didn't need them anymore. He was a bit rude about it. We got our coffee way after we finished eating. The menu is limited. It was Sunday am and they had football on the tv. Loved this place! The coffee is delicious! We ordered four different coffees and four different sandwiches and the gentleman behind the counter nailed it. My macchiato was hot and had the perfect amount of caramel. The atmosphere is inviting and comfortable. I will definitely be back next time I visit. Just wanted to add that the gentleman working was incredibly friendly. And the bagels are amazing! Soft on the inside nice little toast on the outside. The best bagel I have ever had. read more

We were looking for a coffee spot and came across this Capresso coffee shop. My son absolutely loved it. He had actually tried it before we did. Based on his recommendation we decided to come in and give it a shot. I'm so glad we did the gentleman behind the counter was so friendly and welcoming. My husband asked for a caramel latte which was absolutely refreshing. I quite wasn't sure what to order but I asked the gentleman to surprise me and make me some thing with almond milk. He created a latte with hazelnut for me and I absolutely enjoyed every sip. This place is absolutely worth trying you won't regret it. They have plenty of seating and it's a cute quaint coffee shop. read more

Ordered a panini sandwich which was supposed to have three different kinds of meat and mayo and spicy mustard on sourdough bread and for $13 i got a sandwich i had to feed to my dog and even at that i was thinking it might not be good for him. Never again. read more

I stopped into Capresso early this morning for coffee. Service was a little slow but the barista was very friendly. They suggested I come back to try their Caribbean meals later in the day before I traveled home. I was eyeing the Jamaican beef patties (which had a sign saying available from 12-5 Friday and Saturday) so I ended up coming back to grab some patties before I hit the road. Came back at 12pm exactly. The barista was nowhere to be found with three other guests, who were seated. He comes out of the back, where they prepared most the food, and took my order for patties and coco bread. I sit and wait, expecting to maybe wait 15 minutes. Almost an hour later, I finally left with my food. During that time, the barista warned another guest that the patties take 30 mins to make, forgot to bring napkins out to a guest who requested them and forgot to make that guest's food, all while disappearing into the back frequently for extended periods of time. read more

Person running the place doesn't know how to encourage repeat business. Looking for a place to do some work. Place has the feel of a piano cocktail lounge but the food was expensive for no reason. Got me a slice of pizza and planned on having coffee here but was told "no outside food". I asked if they served pizza, and he said no, so I asked if he was willing to loose a customer and loose my business. And he just repeated "no outside food" LOVE IT WHEN PEOPLE CANT THINK FOR THEMSELVES or respond appropriately to a linear form of thought. Don't waist your time or money. read more

Capresso was just ok for me. The coffee wasn't amazing and the staff seemed very out of it. I ordered a hazelnut iced coffee and the man who made my drink forgot: hazelnut pumps, a straw and a lid. I had to ask for all 3 things 3 different times. He got the hazelnut pumps but forgot the straw and lid....he then got the lid but forgot the straw. It is also worth mentioning that I was 1 of 3 people in the store at that time. read more

Decent iced coffee... Check. Free wifi (and power outlets)... Check. Comfy seating... Check. I came up to Oneonta to get some work done during a stay at my no-internet-having Catskills cabin and Capresso was a decent stop for a couple of hours. They're trying for a sort of urban-industrial look (metal wall panels) but that's undercut by the very much non-urban-industrial furnishings. Glorified folgers-esque, dull, watered down coffee in a nice setting. For non-espesso drinks, i.e. regular joe, you're best off going up the road to SUNY's Hunt Union where there is a full Starbucks with good strong coffee. read more

This place is bright, with large tables, nice drinks and clean bathroom. Add on free wifi, and what more can you want? If you happen to live out this way, this is a nice coffee shop to sit and chat or read or tap away on your laptop. I would definitely frequent this place if I lived here. read more

I like Capresso because they are open late 10 pm (still not late enough for someone like me) and you get free WIFI with lots of comfy seating. The coffee is good as well. It can get a little noisy sometimes, and I`m not a big fan of TVs in coffee shops, but overall a good place. read more

This place as changed owners so many times. For what reasons I do not know. Nevertheless, quality has gone down hill. drastically. old shots are used frequently in their espresso drinks, even in single espresso shots! They claim to know a lot about coffee, but honestly, they know as much as the people who make the coffee in those 24-hr diners. However, I must give credit where it is needed. Some of their employees did understand the importance of quality and were trained very well. But most of those great employees have since left. I have experienced very well made drinks. It all depends on who is making the drinks. But from what I have noticed and experienced, the problems lie in the management. read more

My husband and I were in Oneonta craving espresso of the non-Starbucks variety, and Capresso delivered! The service was friendly yet efficient, the espresso was tasty, and they get bonus points for having simple syrup. (How else are you supposed to add sugar to your summertime iced espresso?!) This is a warm, comfy coffee bar, with a quiet morning atmosphere. Their coffee is served quickly, and holds plenty of flavor, and they offer a nice little selection of pastries and food. It'd be nice if they offered gluten free bread for their sandwiches, and some gluten free poster options, but otherwise it's a good place to sit for a couple hours and write or read. read more

Coffee was not bad. Pastry was stale. Like 4 days old stale. Also had a strange odor, was not edible. This is how you lose customers.

What happened to this place?? We had always spoken highly of Capressos, but after being out of the area for a bit we stopped dropped yesterday with a friend for coffee and sandwiches, to go. Unfortunately only after paying for them did the guy then realize that they didn't have any of the ingredients for half of our order. Ok... so we got a refund for those items. Though I wish I could have asked for a full refund, and the generous tip we had already left, because when we returned home we realized the one sandwich we did end up leaving with had less than half of the items it was supposed to! Basically we paid $5 for a few bacon strips on wonder bread. Did they change owners, AGAIN? Very disappointing and not coming back here. read more

Excellent tasting coffee but not hot. Also the cup was not full...one of my pet peeves. For the price of coffee, you should get a full cup. Pastries tasted like store bought, nothing great. Nice atmosphere and friendly staff but the coffee and food is not worth it. Went with my boyfriend and both of our sandwiches were soggy and not well heated even though it took over 15 minutes to receive them (only one employee working). One of my favorite places to go in Oneonta! They're always very friendly and work fast to complete your order. Plus, they were generous enough to donate their large back room to our Baby-and-Me weekly meetings, even though we're sometimes a chaotic group. (Friday mornings from 9:30-11 a.m. - join us sometime!) I always order a Freddachino for myself (ice cream and coffee!!), a small creamy orange smoothie for each kid, and a few sausage, egg, and crissaunt sandwiches for us all to share. It ends up being a table full of food with plenty left over, and never over $20. Great atmosphere and price, a trip our family looks forward to every week! read more

My favorite place in town... The coffee is great, and the service so far has been nothing short of spectacular. Matt and Selina (the owners) have been very friendly since the first time I ever walked in. I make a point to stop in when I walk the dogs in the morning, and anytime I find myself looking for a WIFI hotspot during the work day.
