The food was pretty delicious. It was a nice little cafe with a warm cozy vibe. The service was good, however my mothers sandwich was supposed to have bacon and no garlic, and that did not happen. However, other than that, it was pretty good and I would recommend! The menu does have a good variety. It might not be the best for little kids who are picky, but it is a good choice if you want a nice cafe to bring your grandparent to or a nice cafe to meet up with a friend. It is close to SUNY Oneonta, so if you're touring there or visiting there, consider this place for a meal!

    Craft Coffee Bar

Traveling to Cooperstaown All Star Village and staying in Oneonta. I found this little gem restaurant and craft coffee bar Social Eats Café close to our place and it did not disappoint. Came here every morning for my espresso. Service isn't super fast, but their coffee roast is top knotch and have great/healthy food options plus fair price for coffee/espresso drinks. Really grateful I stumbled in! Truly recommend for the Oneonta Area

Rosemary Blueberry Marscarpone Stuffed French Toast

Welcoming, bright, beautifully decorated, great coffee, but can we talk about this stuffed french toast for a minute?!? Like woah. The bread was fluffy and just perfectly seasoned, blueberries fresh and not syrupy and mascarpone light and delicious. My compliments to the chef ‍

Nice ambiance and good food, but pricey. Adding 1 egg to the avocado toast was $3.00! I won't do that again!

We shall see what we shall see soon, for as this is the last night I can do such things before heading west for a while. I'm thankful this visit was long enough to permit two visits to the rooted establishment. If they opened a 2.0 that's what they should call it. Rooted on Main Street. Tasty treats and ample cerveza offerings. Spirits for those that enjoy Halloween all year round. Art by local artists on the walls and some you can take with you evening of. Others you must wait for, but that makes your heart grow fonder. Main attribute that lies beneath the visible veneer of happy is a felt sense that the folks that own and run the establishment care about their customers and the patron experience. This isn't necessarily a rare thing, other shops in town and around do as well. But it's a good thing, and good to appreciate and be outwardly thankful for. So. Thank you Roots people. The new owners have turned it into something totally different, as I discovered earlier this month. The only original menu item that has survived is the "famous" Hot Open Veggie, which is more or less the same except you can't add tofu or tempeh without paying for the full side order. Also, they ditched the amazing tofu marinade for... no marinade? It had no flavor, and the tempeh was cut into skinny triangles and all dried out. It used to come in cubes, and was an awesome addition to Hot Open Veggie. I couldn't eat it. Where is the tempeh burger? It used to be so delicious. I was going to come twice in one day to get both. I ended up leaving after my disappointing meal, the first one I've ever had at The Autumn. Can someone pay some attention to what has kept that place open for like forty years? I guess not.

We…read morerecently stayed in the area for a youth baseball tournament in Cooperstown and ended up eating here THREE nights in a row--that is how phenomenal it is. The food is incredible. The owner and chef is immensely talented, serving up fresh, farm-to-table dishes. Because everything is so fresh, the specifics change nightly, but everything we ordered was a huge win. The beef carpaccio was dynamite, and the Prosciutto Pizza, house-made focaccia bread, "farm goodies," bolognese, hangar steak, and caprese ravioli were all absolutely delicious. You can taste the quality and care in every single bite. (Sorry no pics...we were too busy eating!) Beyond the stellar food, the cocktail menu is an absolute blast. They have a whole lineup of delicious, creative craft drinks with "The Princess Bride" themed names! Trying the different drinks became half the fun of our dinners. What truly sets this place apart, though, is the service. We had a server named Beth whom we absolutely loved. By the third night, she knew exactly what my daughter wanted to drink as soon as we sat down! The owners and the entire staff are warm, welcoming, and treat you like family. If you are anywhere near Oneonta or Cooperstown, do yourself a huge favor and eat here. We will definitely be back the next time we are in town!

It's an older house painted red with black trim, featuring a newer deck that, at least when we visited, had no furniture on it. At first glance, you might assume it's a neighborhood sports bar or a casual local hangout. Step inside, however, and you'll find something completely different. The atmosphere is warm, intimate, and inviting, with a classic dining ambiance that makes it feel like a hidden gem tucked away in the neighborhood. We were in Oneonta for Cooperstown All Star Village and were excited to discover this cozy farm-to-table restaurant. The food was excellent, and the setting made for a memorable dining experience. We started with the Crab Puffs, made with empanada dough, crab rangoon filling, and a jalapeño-green onion emulsion. They were creative, flavorful, and a great way to begin the meal. For our entrée, we shared the daily fish special, halibut served with farm-fresh potatoes and carrots. The fish was perfectly cooked, and the fresh ingredients really showcased the farm-to-table concept. The dish was simple, fresh, and delicious. To finish the meal, we shared the Crème Brûlée for dessert. It was outstanding, with a perfectly caramelized sugar crust and a rich, creamy custard that provided the perfect ending to an excellent dinner. Despite the restaurant being packed, we were seated immediately and received excellent service throughout the evening. The staff was attentive, friendly, and kept everything running smoothly. The drink menu was another highlight, offering a solid selection of craft beers, wines, and cocktails. Overall, this was one of the best meals we had during our trip. Great food, excellent service, a cozy atmosphere, and a unique setting make this restaurant well worth seeking out if you're in Oneonta.

Unfortunately my husband order the 10oz NY strip (an eye popping $28!) He thought he was playing it safe by ordering it medium. When the waitress brought his meal out she said she was waiting for him to cut into the steak to make sure it was to his order. Good thing because it was the rarest piece of meat we'd ever seen! Raw inside! She took the steak back and had them put it back on the grill (her words). Unfortunately when it came back out nearly 20 minutes later after the rest of us had already started, it was still barely medium rare! She offered to take it back and put it back on the grill (again!) but he was so frustrated he told her to leave it and he'd take it home and cook it himself. Sadly after cooking the next evening the majority of the meat was either fat or gristle so the 10oz steak ended up to be about 3oz of edible meat! We've been to other restaurants where an entree has been l poorly cooked, etc. and in each case the restaurant has always comped the meal. The salt in the wound was the waitress only offered to comp our dessert (just my husband and I!) Instead of rightfully comping the $28 meal they comped a $4 dessert. Our experience wasn't bad enough to keep us from going back but we'd definitely recommend to the restaurant that, if they're using a special menu they should've made sure to advertise that or let us know when we made reservations. Additionally, in an obvious screw up like this, always comp the meal!
