Yes,…read moreit does have a slightly dingier feel and look to it but it stands up with the more expensive establishment. Whenever I pass Aspley Fish and Chips, its not booming. Perhaps it's the location that hinders its mass appeal. The place is pretty much hidden from the main road and can be glimpsed when driving right past it. Perhaps it's has that stock standard décor of your hole in the wall place take away. All these things aside, the good indication that it doesn't make crap food is that it's still operating. Ive bought burgers and fish and chips from here before and they are all passable. There is nothing fancy there is nothing horrible, just the stock standard that you'd expect if you don't have the money to splash out.

Plenty Continental Deli has proven everyone wrong. I've been going to this deli now for the past two years, admittedly at first in an effort to help a new foodie business, but as their business grew it genuinely became an excellent purveyor of delicious foods. The business owners are both knowledgeable and adventurous with their stock and carry a huge range of olives, cheeses, salamis and ice creams. They're not scared to experiment either. Last year, they started selling gelati in cups but replaced it a few months later with a bakery section. These days, they've extended their bakery section to include Roman baked goods out the front of their shop on weekends. This is also a great place to go if you want to put together a food hamper for a gift. There are some excellent Turkish delights, chocolates, mixed nuts, oils and dressings. Service can be a little slow at times, especially if you get stuck behind a customer wanting different types of meats and antipasto. It's great if you're happy to browse but it can get frustrating if you're in a rush.

Many times I've just gone to Plenty for inspiration and ideas on what to make for dinner. It's hard to walk out of there with only one thing though. Best deli in Brisbane by far and I feel so lucky that it's part of my local shops!
