Lola is truly a miracle worker. I received a gift card for my birthday and I've been dying to find a great aesthetician in my area. I booked a 90 minute session with Lola. When arriving, she took the time to look at my face and talked to me about my concerns. She suggested a few treatments, and then proceeded to take some before photos. The whole experience was very relaxing and pleasant. After my session was complete, Lola took after photos and showed me the difference just one session could do. I have a lot of dark spots around my eyes and chin area. You could dramatically see the difference and she really recommended what I needed for my skin, and did not try upsell me. She even recommended afforadable brands for post skin care after my treatment. My skin has not been clearer and I've finally been able to wear a lighter coverage foundation, not worrying about my dark spots. I can't wait for my next session. Lola showed me it was possible to live life a different way, and I feel more confident in day to day interactions with others now. I cannot recommend Lola enough. If you are on the fence, don't be. I live in JC and wanted to try a place close to home. I am so happy that I did. I had a facial + lactic peel and it was great start to finish. I was totally comfortable while getting the peel. As for the facial, the products smelled great and felt great on my skin. She never left the room while products were working on your skin either. The lady who waxed my eyebrows was very nice. However, i just visited once and never came back. I had gone to get waxed in my eyebrows. Akfter i repetedly told her that i normally break up with products that are not for vegans, which i am, she still aplied her great super top of the line wax on me (she implied it would be unlikely my skin would not take it). Sure enough, after she is done and after 5 minutes of chatting, i could see in the way that she was looking at me that something went wrong! By the time i made it home i looked like a monster. The worst breakout i had in my life! It was so bad that i had to go in social remission for three days! And couldnt go to my party that night which i told her i had prior to the waxing. I had a great facial treatment this past weekend taking advantage of a special promotion Lola had advertised in her Facebook page. The facial also included a Lactic Acid peel (which I requested separately) as well as a through and very relaxing face, neck, shoulder and arm massage (it felt really great!). The 1-hour facial treatment was done very professionally and Lola took the time to go over the procedure carefully and also explain the steps in detail. Lola also did some special treatment for the area around my nose which has been showing some redness for months and a bit of cracking due to the dry weather. She advised me on what treatment to follow in order to reduce or completely eliminate the redness. It was by far one of the best facials I have ever had in years and I do plan to go back again for more facial treatments. Lola also carries some beauty products that are not the mainstream brands but which contain natural and more basic ingredients. I am a very happy customer for almost 2 years. I fist went for a series of peels based on a groupon. Due to a hectic travel schedule, the groupon expired before I could use it., but Lola was very accommodating when she really didn't have to be. Since then I have become a loyal fan. I get a the peels done 2x's a year and couldn't be happier with the results. I had major discoloration from sun damage and it's gone. And I get loads of compliments on my skin now. Imagine that! I also use Lola's moisturizer which I just love. It is an intensive moisturizer but doesn't make me break out. Since going to Lola, I am no longer dependent on Proactive and no breakouts either. I highly recommend booking a session with Lola. I thankfully met her while I was visiting Jersey City from Seattle and she has quite literally transformed my skin. Lola is a professional who is genuine, attentive, knowledgable, and has an amazing line of ethical organic/ gentle skincare products. Before meeting Lola I was struggling with a severe breakout in between my brows and my skin was in overall bad shape. I was dealing with painful cystic acne, irritation and redness which hadn't gone away in 3 months! Walked in this morning on a whim and couldn't be happier. I all but stopped getting my eyebrows done because wherever I went would thin them out way too much. This is not the case with Lola; my eyebrows are amazing! She shaped and trimmed them perfectly. After seeing how well she did mine, my roommate decided to get hers done as well. We have very different brow concerns and both left satisfied with great looking brows. I enjoyed the wax she uses, it's unlike any I've ever had before, it's almost clear and very gentle. I believe in this woman and her products because of her knowledge AND her skin is the most beautiful skin I have ever seen! I am from Hoboken so honestly I probably wont be back too soon. I visited Caprice Beauty Bar today for my very first brazilian. I was nervous and, of course, unsure what to expect but Lola made the experience amazing. I had a great experience with this spa. Firstly, it's in a hip location on Jersey Ave., only a 4 minute walk from the Grove St. station and near many restaurants and cute boutiques. The spa owner seemed very knowledgeable about various skin issues and made suggestions for treating my skin based on my skin type. I purchased some facial moisturizing oils from her and I can already see a difference in my skin. Hopefully my many wrinkles will diminish, too!
