John Cloud diagnosed a failed memory stick (oh no! they cost so much now!). I supplied an "extra" memory stick from one of the other computers at our church and John continued the repair diagnosing and fixing some particularly nasty software errors that had resulted from the initial hardware failure. All of our installed software now works reliably again! Great job! The machine was back in service on March 5 for a very reasonable repair cost! I'd become very familiar with the Blue Screen of Death a few days prior to giving him a call and tried to fix things myself (poorly), but Shane resolved the issue within a matter of hours, on my time, at my location. He even had the required parts on hand that were an upgrade to what I currently had installed. I even learned a lot just from discussing the issues with him, and I consider myself relatively tech savvy. Oh, and the computer runs better than I remember it running in years. Nice guy but immediately I new I was wasting money and time. He'd was basically running through a list on his phone identical to what i had dug up on the internet and tried myself. Not even close and I called it after a wasted hour and $160 I called Shane back. He came as promised right on time next day. Immediately diagnosed the problem. ( confirmed my worst fears ). Mike needs to stop and consider what he is putting his hands on. He didn't listen whenever I tried to tell him that the computer had a screw that was stuck in it. He ended up ripping the back off of my computer. He ended up at least having the decency to refund the money. But now I am out the money to replace the parts and a computer stuff full of unnecessary chemicals because he refused to listen! He did try to tell me that the screw was on the opposite side of the charging port.
