Have you ever seen that movie Captain Ron? Duke reminds me of him, he's so cool and so funny and so laid-back, I was very nervous going into this adventure but he made it feel like I knew what I was getting myself into and I had so much fun. Wow! What a fun morning! We had the pleasure of getting to ride with Capt. Duke himself and it sure was a treat! First, the boats were beautiful and you are provided with headwear. Capt. duke greeted us and sat us according to weight so we wouldn't have any issues on the water. Right off the bat we started seeing baby gators. Duke is knowledgeable about the land and all things gators! He was able to answer all questions. You are guaranteed to see a lot of cow, birds, turtles, and gators on this airboat ride. This is my third ride (others in Louisiana and Mississippi) and this is by far the most gators I have ever seen. I think we counted over 100!!! It was incredible. Duke says it's best during feb-March since the water is cooler and the gators are on the land. Overall, we will be back! It is a MUST for your FL vacation!! We even stopped to help a turtle that was stuck on its back in the mud!! read more

Well Capt Duke showed this Idaho girl something I've never experienced in my whole life--an air boat ride through the St Johns swamps. I was so impressed with Capt Duke's tour... he took us through the river, through the trees, up on land to explore the history of the area... it was amazing. We saw alligators, snakes, spiders, birds, and had a TON of fun. I loved that his boat could take only 7 people. We all got to have a great seat on the boat and had the best time. Our guide was INCREDIBLY knowledgeable about the history of the area as well as the animals (such as what types of birds we were seeing). We were lucky enough to get Capt Duke himself as our guide, and we were so glad we did. It was nice to be on a smaller boat with just our group, which really heightened the whole experience. Capt Duke was a no frills, genuine guide who you could tell really knew and loved everything about the area - the nature, animals, culture and history of it, and sharing that knowledge and respect for it, with others. The tour itself is awesome, seeing the gators and wildlife and the surrounding nature was truly something else. He carefully watched and listened to us, and customized our tour so it fit us perfectly: he stopped when he saw we were interested in a particular animal or ecosystem and gave us great information regarding those interests. Captain Duke was extremely knowledgeable and very accommodating! There was probably enough room for 7 passengers on the boat - we had 6 people on our ride and it did not feel cramped at all! For the price you pay this trip was most certainly worth it! We'll definitely be going with Captain Duke again. If I could give Capt. Duke 20 stars, I would!! We were a party of 6, 2 evenings ago, and we took a sunset airboat cruise. He is one of the only companies that will provide a sunset cruise, BTW - and during the summer months you ONLY want to do an airboat ride either before noon, or at sunset. The weather was perfect - none of us even broke a sweat during those 90 min. He is a very safe, but still fun driver, and his boat is well maintained. Capt. Duke was born and raised in the area where he runs his business, and it shows. He knows the area inside and out, and was a fountain of information which he presented with no-nonsense humor. It felt like we were on a private tour in his own back yard. There are NO other tour companies in this area - you won't see 20 other airboats while you are out. This is probably the reason that we saw an ABUNDANCE of gators!! If you are on the fence about trying a "small" outfit like this, don't think twice - just book it! It was the best experience that we have had in the Orlando area by a landslide! read more
