I recently visited capt loui, a seafood boil restaurant known for their Cajun-style seafood boils. From the moment I walked in, I knew I was in for a treat. The restaurant had a fun and casual atmosphere with picnic-style tables and benches, which added to the overall experience. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful, explaining the menu options and the best way to enjoy the seafood boil. We ordered the 5 lbs of almost everything seafood boil which included a mix of shrimp, lobster, crab legs, mussels, clams, corn, and potatoes. The boil came out in a large bag, and we poured the seafood and veggies onto the table, creating a fun and interactive dining experience. The seasoning was spot on - just the right amount of spice, and the seafood was cooked to perfection. We also ordered the garlic noodles and they were delicious and the perfect complement to the seafood. Me and my friends were very hungry, and looking for somewhere to eat. We always pass by this spot on our way to Kurt Donavon's Underground Developmental shows, but never had the chance to try it until today. The food was absolutely incredible. My friends got the Boil, and the Tender Bucket, while I got the Chicken Po'Boy. We all have satisfied stomachs, but when we heard about the opportunity for free dessert, we leaped at the chance. I am currently snacking on the Funnel Cake Fries, and they are so sweet and savory. The warm fries and cold ice cream contrast each other in a lovely way. From the moment I walked In, I was greated with a smile from kay my husband came to dine in and came home with dinner and he kept talking about his server kay... he said honey I found another wife she treated me like a king today, I was like that's nice honey I have to try her out and I have no words!!! kay is God given it's one thing when the food is excellent but it's another when the servers are serving excellence. Capt loui you will be seeing us again, sorry no pic the food was that gud... go and see for yourself and ask for kay. Hands down THE BEST experience of my life!!!!! I am obsessed with seafood boils and this was the best sauce and freshness I've encountered. The service here is amazing, we had Michael as our waiter and he was untimely the best. He recommended what sauce and how spicy to get it and it was perfect! Visited on Super Bowl Sunday for an early lunch! Our waitress was beyond attentive and sweet. Started off with oysters which were very fresh and delicious. We both got fry baskets, one with shrimp the other with crab. Both baskets were the perfect size and the sauces made them delectable. Highly recommend the lemon pepper fries! The strawberry lemonade pouch was hot too sweet and next time we'll definitely BYOB to make it even better! Will be returning to try more of the menu soon! read more

This was my 1st time here with my Bessie, who told me about my the #Thursday night $19.99 #lobsterboil specials! Oh boy were we surprised! A whole lobster and not just the tail! Plus a corn and potatoe! The service was very friendly from every waiter and waitress ,the atmosphere was lit, and the music was holiday festive. To start off the location is great, so many friendly vibes all around. There's parking right across the street which is very convenient .The food was delicious and on point , food was nice and warm. Stopped by for lunch and had great food in a nice environment. Servers were exceptionally attentive and friendly. The two lunch specials (Cajun pasta and fried calamari basket with lemon pepper fries) were very reasonably priced and absolutely delicious. The New England clam chowder was also very good with large clam pieces. We got a piña colada for fun and it was refreshing. Will definitely come back for more. Highly recommend! read more

They also have an amazing, reasonably priced lunch special that includes half a po'boy, soup, and a side (at least that's the one I was eyeing). My friends and I had a great experience at this location. The service was great. The server was pleasant, knowledgeable about the menu, and attentive to what we needed. She would even go as far as replacing our ketchup without us asking and made sure to continuously check up on us. The food was great ! I love a great seafood boil. Capt' Loui is one of my favorite seafood places to date, but the Montclair location takes the cake as far as service, food quality, and ambiance goes. My Cajun pasta was delicious. I was disappointed that fried dishes are fried in the same oil as chicken. I wanted soft shell pie boy but had to get Cajun pasta which was good. Crab legs were great and the oysters were great too. Never had oysters snd was looking for clams on a half shell. Oysters were s perfect substitute. Service was great and ambiance was perfect. My parents have been looking for a seafood boil in the area since we loved it when we went somewhere in NYC. A friend recommended me this place and it is absolutely amazing!! Service is amazing. Food was great. Huge portions compared to other places. We ordered dozen oysters, chicken tender, fries and a boil bag with king crab, shrimp, snow crabs which comes with potatoes and corn. The 2 sides we chose was boiled eggs and garlic noodles.
