We had a great experience! Capt. Jeremey knew exactly where to take us to limit out, and made sure we had a great time! We'll be back as often as possible, next week even!!

My husband has been taking us to different fishing places but we've never had any luck until we found CB and Jeremy. They were super cool and helpful. Our whole family had such a great time catching fish at every spot they took us.

My fam and I booked a charter for the day while visiting SD, and all our expectations were blown away. Capt has an uncanny instinct to guide the boat where you need to be, and encourage everyone to let it rip at just the right time. Chris, (his 1st Mate), is literally the best hype man you could ask for: he made us all feel like world-class fishermen, and celebrated every fish like he was family. Would HIGHLY recommend booking a trip with these guys; you won't do better than this... TIGHT LINES!! #abouttime PS my sister's girlfriend proposed on the boat and it couldn't have happened without their help!

We flew down just to do a three-quarter day fishing trip from Sacramento. We have never deep-sea fished out of California, always down south in Mexico. We didn't know what to expect but we had the best day ever! Went up to the Coronado Islands and caught a ton of fish.

This was my first six pack charter and we were not disappointed. Communication was great from the time I booked the trip till the day we left. The 36' Riviera is a great boat. They had all the gear we needed already set up ready to go. The boat was clean and well taken care of. Our Captain Jeremy was really cool and knew the area very well. He had a game plan on where to find the fish and he came through. Our deck hand was awesome and he had a lot of experience fishing. He set us up every time and we lost no fish. We filled the box with rockfish and trolled for yellows but they weren't around. We landed 4 or 5 large cudas but catch and released those. We plan on booking a longer trip in the future with Captain Clowers, they host a great charter.

Captain Clowers is the Fish Whisperer. A couple of years back, we took a Christmas Eve lobstering trip with him, which was an excellent experience. So we decided to try one of his tuna trips. From the very start of our trip, it was clear he would not be satisfied letting us go home empty handed. Four of us headed out on a trip after some Yellowfin Tuna, with the captain and his deckhand. It took a few hours to find any bites, but Capt. Clowers used every resource he could, including following porpoise schools and near large kelp patties, and frequently checking in with many other fishermen on the water that day. Eventually, we found the bite, and once we found it, we couldn't reel them in fast enough. We had all caught our limit by the end of the trip. Captain Clowers meticulously cleaned our catch for us, and we brought home enough high-quality tuna to last us for months. We will be fishing with Captain Clowers again, and would recommend him without any hesitation.

Truthfully look no further!!! Capt Clowers and his deckhand Colton were incredible. We couldn't have asks for anything more (except maybe one or two more Dorado ). They were on top of everything!

Thumbs way up for Captain Clower if you are looking for a killer off-shore fishing experience. He thoroughly explained how the day was going to go including saying that once we found the fish, we wouldn't have any time to take a breath (which I found highly skeptical). WOW! He delivered on that promise. It took us a couple of hours to find the fish and 1 1/2 hours later, my sons and I were covered in scales, sweat, and fish blood and the fish bag had 9 yellowfin and 6 skip jack. He even helped us find a packer so I could ship the fish back home. BTW, he is great with young kids. My youngest son is only 7, and he had a great time thanks to all the help he received from the crew. I never once worried about his safety or if he was having a good time during the entire trip. BOOK YOUR TRIP TODAY! I will be returning without a doubt.

    Great Catch

I just wanted to share our experience with Captain Clowers and his Deckhand Colton. This was our first time fishing in the ocean. They were both extremely knowledgeable and gave clear instructions on getting the fish into the boat. I would highly recommend Captain Clowers Charter Service to anyone. We will definitely be coming back.

My daughter and I booked a 3/4 day trip with Captain Clowers. I have never submitted a review on Yelp! before, but I felt compelled to do so based on the great experience we had. Fishing can be slow this time of year and the conditions were less than ideal due to the winds, but he ensured that we caught our fair share of cod and tuna. While I am an avid fisherman, I am not familiar with these waters and he was a great host and more importantly, a great person. If you are looking to have fun fishing in San Diego, I strongly encourage you book a trip with Captain Clowers!

Well organized and fun charter. Unfortunately, we didn't catch many fish which made it feel a tad expensive. Nevertheless it was enjoyable.

Whether you're a local or visiting San Diego this is a really fun activity on the weekend with yummy drinks and good vibes. Originally we were booked for a 10:30am tour that goes out to watch the sea lions out on the bay, unfortunately not enough people booked that one so it was cancelled. Even though our original plan was cancelled Tiki Time Tours went above and beyond to make sure we had a good experience and not only complimentary upgraded our tickets to a more expensive tour, they also gave our party a free round of drinks for the inconvenience! I think this speaks a lot about a company; anyone can be happy with customer service when everything goes according to plan, but the most important times to step up is when plans get cancelled/changed and that's exactly what they did for us! Instead of the sea lion tour we ended up doing the Tiki Live! tour at 3pm. This tour is about 2 hours and while you're out on the water you mingle with everyone else and play games that can win prizes for yourself, your party or the whole boat! The games were fun, interactive and silly. At some points we got close enough to shore and made people on land be a part of our games! Donny was our tiki tour master and he was really funny during the whole tour. In between games he just let the music play so we could enjoy the atmosphere and drinks. My entire group left with nothing but great things to say about the whole experience. My friend even won a free tour for another time so we will definitely be returning for more tiki fun.

RANDOM SUNDAY -…read moreStunning Views - Drinks + shots - Stunning views - chances to win money and prizes My friends randomly saw this boat and said we should do it for fun. Tickets were around $47 per person for a 2hr water tour around the Bay in a boat decorated in tiki decor. For tourist this tour is great with a ton of fun information about San Diego and stunning views in the water. Minimum 8 people on the boat or there may be cancellation of the tour. PAY ATTENTION TO DETAILS. The guide will have some friendly trivia for a chance to win good cash prices, free drinks, gift cards, etc I think that was pretty fun to include in while getting a tour. If you are sensitive to getting seasick, I would recommend a Dramamine beforehand. Although the boat was spacious, it still felt the wakes from the other boats and you can go rocking. In addition there were slow times of moving and turning. Or you can just chuck down a few drinks and feel numb to it all! They have a Tiki Bar with a drink menu (no food) to purchase from and if you bring snacks to eat - you can't eat it on the boat. Drinks were good but their "house" made shots were pretty good! We had a couple rounds of those while on tour - paid round by a passenger or a free shot in the house by the staff. The awkward but not so awkward would be mingling with other folks on the boat that you don't know. One of my friends kept interjecting with another party and while they seem to not mind I could tell they were being polite but if it were me I'd probs be annoyed if someone kept interjecting while I'm having a good time with my friends. Although we all got along and occasionally shared cheers with shots. Luckily the boat was near empty with just a few of us to have some space to do your thing. Overall, nice little 2hr time in the water. Would highly recommend the later session to catch the sunset. Until the next review....

Check in process was easy, just follow the email instructions, all very clear. Bring sunscreen, a hat or sunglasses. You can bring your bags and snacks. There is plenty of space under the benches for your belongings. Lots of options for seating all around the boat, both inside and out. Also 2 restrooms available. As well as a Galley with snacks and souvenirs! I didn't realize, but they also sell photo packages of the wildlife from the trip. So you can focus on documenting your group and the good time, They'll capture the animals! :) This crew was Captain Vanessa, Naturalist Ruth, Deck crew Colleen and Sara, and Galley Oscar. They were all so helpful and accommodating. I cannot tell you how warm and inviting they all were. You could definitely tell they loved their jobs. For me...So, despite Dramamine and sea sickness bands I got really nauseous; and I think my 3 year old did too but couldn't verbalize, because she passed out about 1.5 hours into the trip-so I was just kind of sitting towards the back holding my toddler mid trip. Which is about the time when the whales appeared! (Up to that point we saw different birds, pods of dolphins and sea lions.) So these whales on our trip were on the starboard side when they appeared, but I was on the port side, kinda stuck sitting with my sleeping toddler. At one point Colleen came and asked if she could help me move to see the whales, but that was easier said than done, especially not feeling well. I let her know she was sweet but we were okay. Well as the boat tracked the whales, I guess Colleen and Sara both mentioned to the captain that we were kind of stuck in the back on the Port side and the captain ended up turning the boat towards the whales so I could see them. It was the sweetest thing and I felt so seen as a mama. :) I didn't know how a whale watching trip could go above and beyond, but they did! We did a 12:30pm tour on a Monday and there seemed to be a good crowd, but they were not at full capacity, which meant moving around was an option for those that wanted to. We will be back, this was a great choice!

I'm rounding up a little; if half stars were allowed, this would be a 3.5 from me…read more The good: Nice crew, clean boat, lots of food options available (very pleasant surprise), we saw whales (huge bonus but out of anyone's control on the boat), the captain made sure to spin around to let everyone see them when we did spot some, though - that was cool. One of the crew members took pictures on a DSLR and sold them to us if we couldn't get good enough pics ourselves. You can buy early access to the ship to pick out a good spot, or you can buy a VIP ticket to have access to your own section of the boat right up front. The things I didn't enjoy - which, honestly, I'm not sure how the crew would handle any differently than they did. Some of the people on the boat were super rude. Lots of coughing in close quarters without covering their mouths; one group of people was so hellbent on getting the perfect pictures that they all stood in front of each section of people at least once, running side to side instead of giving everyone turns. The captain did ask that everyone take turns, but the behavior stayed the same all ride. A couple of people actually stood in front of other people who remained seated, completely blocking their views. The bad: You were supposed to get there early to check in and line up, but there is nothing to do in the area, and no seating, so prepare to stand in a line for an hour if you get there right when they say to. The photo package was really expensive for what you got. 3 hours is a long time to be on a boat not learning about things - lots of lulls in programming.

And the person who was giving us the information while we were riding. She knew everything, it seemed, and was obviously passionate about it... which I loved. We saw every kind of sea bird, a humpback whale, and a half of a megapod of LONG Beach Common Dolphins. It was so amazing! The humpback whale was a juvenile. It was so majestic. No matter where you were on the boat, you could see the dolphins. There was a feeding frenzy, so every creature was there. It really makes you realize how small we really are. I actually got a little teary eyed because it was so breathtaking. I am considering making it a monthly adventure for me myself and I. Anywho, this family owned local business is worth it.
