Cleanings are thorough, and everything is always explained in an understandable way. It's reassuring to be in such capable hands, and I trust her judgment. Her assistants were also friendly and attentive, making the experience as comfortable as possible. Normally surgery is very painful, but Dr Fang and her assistants made it very smooth! Captain Dental pushed so many unnecessary, expensive procedures and treatments. They told me I needed Invisalign, prescription toothpaste, a mouth guard, countless cavities to be filled, and even a root canal. I was shocked I would need a root canal which would kill one of my most important teeth, cost thousands of dollars (even with insurance!), and require a crown to be replaced every 5-10 years. I went to my previous, trusted dentist who was able to do a filling versus a root canal which spared my tooth which feels perfectly healthy even months on. read more

I haven't been to a dentist in years because of just bad history of dental experiences so after much delay I returned and picked Captain Dental based on other people's reviews. And the opinion is right. The people working at this office is great. From the front desk to the x-rays to the cleaning, everyone was pleasant and efficient. The dental assistant who did the in depth x-rays was wonderful making sure that she was quick in taking the x-rays so I wouldn't choke on the pieces jammed in my teeth. She was also very considerate with cleanup since there was alot of drooling on my part. I was placed with Dr. Ryan and I'm so glad I got him as my dentist. He did a cleaning and was very sensitive to all my concerns about pain. But what was really helpful was his slow measured explanation of my x-rays. He showed me his concerns and the pros and cons of future visits. The education was invaluable in helping me make my decisions about future treatment. Clarice, the dental assistant, who was assisted Dr. Ryan was wonderful. Very focused cleanup and suction during the teeth cleaning which is so needed because if she didn't pay attention I would be choking on nastiness. So much thanks to her for taking care of a very nervous patient. I'll be back at Captain Dental for sure. read more

I have avoided any dental visits for over 3 years because of my billing experience with another dentist office. I was recommended to Captain Dental of Redwood City by a friend, but was still very hesitant to trust any dentist. I easily booked my first appointment online with Dr. Fang in July for a basic cleaning. On the day of my first visit, I was assisted by Ana at the front desk. She was through in answering all questions I had, and very friendly as well. I voiced my concerns about billing at my previous dentist and Ana assured me that would not happen. Dr. Fang did an excellent job during my basic cleaning and laid out the deep cleaning plan + fillings. Before leaving, Ana went over my estimate to ensure she could gain my trust. I was able to leave Captain Dental worry free and willing to return. I recently returned for two visits in August to perform the deep cleaning with Dr. Jason. He was transparent about all details before and during the procedure. This helped alleviate any anxiety I may have had. Dr. Jason has a welcoming and calm demeanor. He was always checking in on how I was doing or if needed any breaks, while he efficiently performed both of my deep cleanings. All of my experiences in the last two months with the staff and doctors of Captain Dental have allowed me to have faith in a dental office again. Captain Dental is one exceptional place to go if you want great dental care with caring and kind doctors. And their assistance who helps out with the doctors are sweet too and they always check to make sure you're okay. I can't say enough about Dr Tandon and Dr Ryan are two of the doctors who has worked on my teeth and let me tell you they both did some awesome and amazing work. You won't be disappointed.. Dr Tandon did a root canal that was almost impossible to be done to save my tooth and she did just that. Dr Ryan had to design a special crown for that tooth., I have never met a doctor in my life who has design a special crown for my tooth. I had some issues with my tooth and It was not good and it's all my fault from eating stuff that I shouldn't have eaten.., but thanks to Dr Tandon & Dr Ryan for all they hard work and they didn't take it lightly. Best dentist in the Redwood City / Woodside area. I recently was unhappy with my former Dentist Dr.Mendoza & decided to try out Captain Dental. My wife's co worker recommended Captain Dental & I did my research and decided to go in for a consultation for my wisdom teeth removal. I decided to choose IV sedation , and was fairly nervous. The specialist Surgeon & his assistant made me feel super comfortable & was pain free !! No bruising on my arm from the IV , it was my first time doing IV sedation & was such a pleasant experience. I felt super relaxed with the oxygen & the IV sedation I couldn't believe how fast the process was. I woke up and everything was completed , & I also appreciate the wheelchair ride to my drivers vehicle. I know many people that got super swollen & were in so much pain after the surgery but I myself on the first day have zero pain on my jaw & no bruising at all. I highly recommend choosing Captain Dental as they have super experienced doctors & Dental Assistants.
